10 NIGHTMARES (PART 3) End

A week and a half had past and Carmila's anxiety and restlessness had improved since she started consulting Dr Maria Elvis.

She would spend her weekends in the company of Damien and her siblings (Older brother Jason James, older sister Catherine Layne, younger brother Micaelo, and younger sister Caeylan Jayne). They would enjoy barbecues to movies and the sorts. Although everyone was mostly busy they'd make time to spend with Carmila until her condition improved.

One night Carmila was sleeping soundly she dreamt that night a pleasant dream, 'In the dream she saw Jessie smiling at her saying "Mila I wanna see you happy, I don't want you to cry anymore, live your life to the fullest and move forward" after that she saw Jessie a far off and he disappeared again'. She woke up and felt that her tears had wet her cheeks this time it was different it was as though a burden had been lifted off her shoulders.

Early on a Friday morning, Damien had invited her out for breakfast and a day out, seeing that she hadn't gone back to work yet so most of her time was spent at home or on outings with friends or family.

Damien picked her up at the entrance of the manor, "Good morning Carmila, you look very beautiful this morning" he said this blushing and opening the front passenger door for her. Carmila gave him the most heartwarming smile and jovially replied "Thank you Dr Vaughn, seeing that will be out and about I just wanted to feel different, try new things and enjoy myself", she likes teasing Damien by calling him Dr Vaughn, he knew her better now and hearing her call him Dr Vaughn meant that she was up to mischief or something sneaky.

They headed to a French café called La Prunelle, there they ordered some cappuccinos with buttered croissants and cream puffs, while waiting for their orders to arrive Damien took the initiative to to talk "You seem to be in a more jovial mood than usual, do you care to share?" He asked very inquisitively, Carmila who was staring outside looked to him with tears in the corner of her eyes, "Damien this night I slept peacefully compared to all the other previous nights since Jessie's death, I dreamt that he came to see me and told me to be happy and to move on and that he loved me no matter what. I felt better when I woke up, since he has given me his blessings from beyond it's time I take a step forward in life too. We can't take back the past but we can enjoy the present and prepare the future." When she finished speaking she looked him straight in the eyes and noticed that at first he was worried that she was crying but listening further he felt relieved, "Mila I'm very happy for you, at first I was worried that I did something wrong but I'm glad that it wasn't the case, seeing you smiling so profoundly makes me happy to and as your friend I only wanna see that radiant smile everyday!" He subconsciously put a his hand on hers and gave it a gentle squeeze before letting go, the waiter brought over their food and they ate in a joyous mood, they finished the lunch and headed to the museum to see the new exhibits.

The museum was a lovely modern style building it was painted with grey and black geometric patterns all along the building to give it a sophisticated touch, when they entered they saw people looking at some of exhibits, at this time it was also a little hard for Carmila because some of these exhibits were excavated by Jessie when he was still alive but because she knew he wanted her to be happy she looked proudly at them and asked Damien to take a few pictures for her whilst standing in front of the exhibits that were on exposition that day she walked through the hallway with Damien and explained some the origins of the exhibits to him, his face brightened when he saw how enthusiastic she was, happily explaining one thing to another.

It was almost 12 pm when they stepped out of the museum they headed to a park that was close by and found a hotdog and burger stand they got some burgers and drinks and found a picnic table and sat down, there weren't many people at the park so it was still peaceful they had their lunch quietly and enjoyed the scenery at the park after they ate their succulent burgers they walked around the park to digest their food, Damien saw an artist drawing people and pulled Carmila with him "Let's go get a portrait done as a souvenir, what do you think?" Carmila agreed and followed along.

They reached the artist and asked if he could do a portrait for them "Do you want a couple portrait or a single piece each?" He added you guys look very cute together I think a couple portrait would be better. They looked at each other and laughed Damien explained "It's not what you think we're actually just two good friends that wanted a souvenir that's all, as we are celebrating my friends recovery" Damien's face had a slight blush saying so, "Oh forgive me for my ignorance, please do take place on the bench, take a comfortable position" said the artist as he scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment.

Later on they left the park with their portrait in a big envelope neither of them had seen it yet, so they wanted it to be a surprise when they got home before dinner.

It was now 4 pm when they set out to go to the hospital because Damien had to do a routine check on a patient in the orthopaedic block and Carmila didn't mind tagging along.

They arrived at the hospital entrance and Damien got a visitors tag for Carmila, they then headed to the orthopaedic block. On the first floor was the children's ward and that was the first place they visited, walking in the hallway Damien told Carmila that there are all sorts of bone fracture cases she'll find on this visit.

He took her through all the wards that were in the block by the time they headed out the hospital it was already 7.30 pm. They were both exhausted when they got into the car, after putting on her seatbelt Carmila fell asleep, Damien took a blanket in the backseat and put it over Carmila, he then buckled up and reversed the car out of the parking lot.

From the hospital to Avoca Hills, it was a 45 minutes drive. All throughout the drive Carmila slept, every now and again Damien would turn around and look at her. He felt so glad that he had her as a friend but he hadn't noticed the feelings that were brewing inside of him.

When they arrived Damien gently shook Carmila awake and helped her out the car, just as dinner was being served everyone was at the table Carmila's parents, her siblings, her brother in law and her sister also attended as well as her older brother's son and her older sister's twins.

It was a pleasant dinner with a hearty meal and joyous laughter, it was a great feeling since the ordeal. Everyone enjoyed themselves, Carmila saw off Damien after dinner and went back to her room later that evening, Mr and Mrs Avoca went to their room as well, whilst Jason, his wife Emilia and son Jamie went home and so did Catherine, her Husband Josh and their twins Tyler and Taylor.

Only Miacaelo and Caeylan remained in the living room they're were watching an anime film. Micaelo started falling asleep when Caeylan mentioned "Bro do you think something is going on between Mila and Damien? Just hear me out first before looking at me awkwardly" she said noticing how Micaelo scrunched his face at her question. She continued to say "I know he helped her out and it's almost two months since Jessie's death but I have a feeling that sooner or later they will fall in love. I think it was fate though that this happened maybe she wasn't supposed to really be with Jessie —" before she could utter another word Micaelo retorted "Caeylan just shut up ! You don't even know what you're saying, what it Carmila hears you? How would you explain what you're stating here? You're so unbelievable. I'm going to sleep" he huffed in anger and left.

Caeylan was still dumbfounded by her brother's anger she didn't feel the need to continue watching, she just turned off the TV and went up to her room after a quick shower she laid in bed staring at the ceiling till she fell asleep.
