Soo Yon-The Dinner

'The nice and kind leader of TNT is cursing!' Cheng mocked jokingly. I threw the pillow at him. He dodged it.

'Get ready,' he laughed. I cursed him again and got up. Staff dinner eh? That funny girl from earlier would be there as well. I sighed. I wondered how long would it take her to fall for Cheng's charm?

An hour later, Cheng and I entered the restaurant. As we walked up to the reception, the customers around us eyed us excitedly. Some even called out to us, 'Soo-Yon Oppa! Cheng Oppa!'

Cheng threw a flying kiss at some of the women who received it with excitement. Some of their dates weren't happy and gave us sour looks.

'We had a booking for our staff,' I said to the receptionist. She nodded and told us, 'Please follow me.'

She led us to one of the private rooms. Everyone was waiting for us there. The staff cheered when they saw us. They have been planning this get together for weeks to celebrate our discharge from the army. Finally, all of us managed to get some time off our busy schedules.

We joined them at the table. Manager Ahn stood up.

'I would like to raise a toast for our boys Soo-Yon and Cheng for their safe return from the army!' he said. 'Here's to Soo-Yon and Cheng's long and prosperous life.'

Everyone raised their glasses. We stood up and bowed down in gratitude to all of them.

'Thank you everyone,' I said. 'All of you have been quite supportive of us. You all were there for us during all the hardships we suffered. Both, me and Cheng, cannot thank you all enough for your hard work.'

I bowed down again. The staff clapped. The door opened. The girl from earlier, Mia, entered. 'I am so sorry for being late,' she apologized to everyone. 'I had to attend an important call.'

'Oh don't worry,' Manager Ahn shrugged. 'Come here.'

He motioned Mia to come to the front. 'Let me introduce to you, our newest staff member, Mia!'

Some people clapped while others looked at the stranger curiously.

'Mia was recruited through our International Recruitment Program, where she scored the highest for costume designing,' Manager Ahn said. I clapped politely. The girl seemed smart. I looked at Cheng. He was looking at her, intrigued. Yep, he was gonna make a move on her.

'Hello everyone,' Mia greeted. 'Thank you for letting me work alongside you all. I will work really hard. Please take care of me.'

Mina noona got up to congratulate Mia and led her to an empty seat. Manager Ahn poured soju into everyone's glasses. When he tried to pour some in Mia's glass, she hesitated.

'No sunbae please don't,' she protested.

'Ahh just take it and enjoy,' he said, forcefully pouring alcohol in her glass. 'Now who wants to join me for karaoke?' he shouted to the rest of the staff. They all looked excited and Manager Ahn took the mike to sing.
