Ch 21 - Master Plan (3)

Confused yet excited for what new abilities I received. I remembered that my plan was at it's final phase.

'Shit, I'll have to test out what happened to me at a later date. First I need to set the scene,' I tell myself as I go into action.

Due to me sending the darkness balls at Greg, the lead guard, and the merchant their bodies turned into nothingness.

However, Edward's mangled body was still laying limp on the ground.

The dome was mostly destroyed because of the pressure I released during my fit. So I just went around using dark magic to destroy the rest of it.

Doing this cleared all traces that anyone was even there.

Satisfied with my work I then needed to make the crime scene more realistic.

I picked up one of the spears that the guards once used and added a bunch of wounds to Edward's already dead body.

This made it look like the guards and an evil mage attacked and killed Edward.

Happy with the result I then decided to go over to the stables.

Normally, it would only be about a five minute travel.

However, as soon as I used wind magic to increase my speed and push myself forwards something unexpected happened.

'OH SHITTTT' I cursed in my head.

*CRASH*

Crashing head first into the ground and doing multiple flips and turns in the air I eventually came to a stop.

'What the hell?' I said confused as ever as to why my speed increased so much.

Wanting to test if it was a fluke I once again prepared to take off.

Yet the same thing happened.

After rolling forwards for a good while I once again came to a stop.

Spitting out the dirt that I ate I smiled enthusiastically!

'My wind magic became more powerful! This must have been because of the force field. That idea was truly one of the best ideas I've ever had,' I said glad that dual casting once again proved how powerful it was.

This time I readied myself before I took off.

As I made my way to the stables it took me around seven minutes.

I could have made it in three if I had not fallen over so many times.

Once I arrived I began to get the hang of how to adapt to my new speed.

I had fallen over less and less each time after I got back up.

'My speed seemed to have increased by a third!' I said happily.

'This is amazing it will allow me to travel throughout the town much more effectively as I will be doing it soon in the future.'

Taking a step into the stable I search for my old friend.

And at the sixth row I found him.

"Hey pal ready for your last mission," I say as I free the horse from its pen.

This was the same horse who I rode when I arrived at the town. He accompanied me when we were attacked by the bandits and when I rode to where the snake girl was.

"We've had some fun but it's time for you to do your final job," I say as I try to jump up on him.

However, forgetting that I was still a kid and not very tall, along with the fact that the horse didn't have a saddle on; I didn't get very far.

Annoyed that I would have to search for a saddle I turned around, but then the horse surprised me.

He actually got down on his stomach so that I could climb up on him.

Happy with his gesture I accepted it as I got on top of him.

He then rose to his feet and we took off.

"Good boy," I said as I patted him and we made our way back to the gate.

When we arrived a short time later we went over to retrieve the carriage.

I then hooked the horse up and brought him over to where Edward was.

When I lined the carriage up correctly I went over and stood in front of my fearless friend.

"It's the end of our time together," I said sadly.

"But I need you to do this one last mission for me."

Rubbing the horse for a moment to say goodbye I then patted him which gave him the signal to go.

I watched as he and the carriage took off and disappeared into the forest.

Sighing yet happy that everything played out like it was supposed too, I made my way back home. Also happy due to the added bonuses.

With my new speed I arrived back at the cozy stone house much faster.

When I opened the doors and entered the kitchen. Ralph was still passed out asleep on the couch where I left him.

'Madelyn must still be asleep in her room,' I said to myself as I went into my own room and crawled into bed.

Excited for what would play out in the morning I went to sleep and had lovely dreams about obliterating anyone who stood in my path to power.

When I woke up I left my room to see Madelyn and Ralph sitting on the couch staring off into space.

"Hi," I said shyly getting their attention.

Madelyn was the first to look up.

"Oh hi there Noah. Did you sleep well?" She asked robotically.

"Uh, it was a long night," I said honestly.

"Yes, yes it was," She replied as if she was soulless.

Sighing I sat down next to them.

'Well I was never one for family,' I told myself as I was about to create a scene.

*STOMP*

Slamming my foot down on the ground I brought the attention of both Madelyn and Ralph to me.

"Let's make a deal," I said showing my true colors and letting my disguise disappear.

Ralph was the first to act this time noticing a threat in his own house.

"What-"

"QUIET! That is if you want Luke to come back in one piece," I said cutting him off.

At the mention of Luke's name both of my 'parents' turned stiff yet gave me their unwavering attention.

They knew at this moment it was a different Noah— one that they should not mess with.

"You will not try to get to know me, you will not question me, you will not attempt to build any type of relationship with me."

"Ralph you will teach me every single thing that you know about fire magic."

"You will let me be a parasite that leaches off you and you will do nothing about it."

"And in return I will save Luke's live."

"Do we have a deal?" I asked with a serious tone.

"Yes!" Madelyn said instantly.

When Ralph went to open his mouth to question me the look that she gave him almost looked like a reflection of my own- almost.

"Yes..." Ralph replied also wanting to get his son back.

"Great!" I said returning to my pretend self.

"Any moment there will be a knock on the door. It will be for me. You will not question it and by the end of the day Luke will be in your arms," I say as I stand up.

I was only able to take two steps forward before.

*BANG*

The front door was blasted down and a squad of men entered the house.

"GET ON THE GROUND!"

"DON'T TRY ANYTHING!"

"GET THE KID"

"LOCK HIS HAND AND GAG HIS MOUTH IN CASE HE CAN USE MAGIC!"

Orders were being screamed as the house was ransacked and I was taken away.

True to their word both Ralph and Madelyn didn't cause any commotion and complied with the law enforcement's orders.

Went I was brought outside a bag was placed over my head and they attempted to sedate me with a shot to the arm.

However, when it tried to pierce my skin the needle of the shot broke.

This surprised the one who tried to inject me with it. Yet he kept his cool and hit me over the head to knock me out instead.

Unluckily for him though, the bag didn't allow for him to see if I was actually unconscious.

With my tough skin and recently strengthened force field they would need to hit me with a spell to really knock me out.

Thus playing dead I was taken away to their headquarters.

I was able to map the how to get there in my head. So when we arrived I already had the advantage.

I was brought through four doors before being thrown into a dark room.

A moment later I could hear the steps of a female entering due to the high heels clanking on the foundation.

Continuing to play the part I waited until the bag was removed and she poured water on me to wake me up.

I looked around shocked and confused before meeting the eyes of my kidnapper.

"Who the fuck are you and what did you do to Edward?" She screamed at me.

Normally the room would have been to dark for anyone to see yet with my senses I could easily make out the person in front of me.

Smiling cruelly and dropping the act I replied, "Why hello there future mayor of Wingston."
