Chapter 90

(Triple release!)

With Maul pulled to their side, Viceroy Gunray was left without any protection. Under fear for his life, he disabled the remaining droids, signifying the end of the conflict.

The Yautja had taken quite a few losses in the battle but nothing compared to the Trade Federation. They had lost 15 battleships, millions of B-1s, and 3 Titans as well as the Viceroy.

The losses that the Trade Federation suffered could not even come close to being called worthy of the move they made against Naboo.

But Jial and his people knew better. The entire campaign was nothing more than a ploy by Sidious to gain power in the Senate and kill his master. Although he had accomplished both of his goals, he lost the apprentice that he had spent years training and preparing to help with his plans.

This would throw off his initial plan by years giving the Yautja time to carefully see what his goals were.

Although they usually didn't involve themselves in Sith and Republic matters, Jial knew something was off with Sidious. He just couldn't tell what the end goal was.

When Nott and Cleopatra returned with their forces, they immediately went to Jial's office to report the victory as well as inform them of their newest recruit, the captured Viceroy, and Jacen's performance.

Jial and Talon looked at their son and felt nothing but regret.

"You..." Jial pointed a finger at his son and was not sure what he could say. The boy charged into a Sith by himself without even trying to gauge his opponent's strength. "I don't even know what to say to you."

"You could congratulate me on not only surviving but also winning my first battle," Jacen suggested arrogantly

"You didn't win or survive. Cleo and Nott won the battle along with the many soldiers and King. You had no actual role in the battle," Talon did not allow him to bathe in the glory he thought he deserved. "You also did not survive. You were spared. Make note of the difference."

Neither wanted to be harsh but Jacen needed to understand the reality of what had happened.

But Jacen did not see it this way.

The boy kicked the wall in frustration and walked out of the room while spewing profanities.

No one went after him. If he wanted to have a temper tantrum, then they would let him.

"What's the story with Gunray?" Jial asked

"Escaped in confusion is the official story we are going with," Nott informed him. "The plan is to extract information on Trade Federation storage locations and raid them."

"Good. The others won't buy it but as long as Padme and her inner circle don't spill anything, we can hold them off."

Gaia climbed into Talon's lap and began purring like a cat even though it was a plant-crocodile.

Talon began to rub under his snout while they discussed more matters.

"We need to assign Anakin a primary teacher. You have anyone, Nott?"

Jial's biggest worry after Sidious was Anakin. He heard the story of how he was conceived from Shmi and realized that something was off.

Immaculate conception was not something humans were capable of.

Even if Anakin was the chosen one, Jial felt that someone else was involved. He wanted someone that could monitor the boy in case he was a ticking bomb that they had adopted.

"I have several prospects but I suggest one of the Inquisitors. Most of them have little work to do for now and are simply looking for leads to follow."

Nott also knew what Jial was implying. They needed someone that was able and willing to kill the boy if he was a threat.

"Can Caina do it?" Talon asked. She was the only other 'immortal' member of the Inquisitors.

This was the one thing that kept their power in check, even if they had Nott's trust. None of them stayed in power for more than 40 years except for the Grand Inquisitor and 2nd Sister.

"I'd suggest 3rd Brother or 8th Brother. 3rd usually teaches the younger Acolytes so he has experience while 8th's personality makes him great at getting close to others."

Nott knew her people best. While Caina was excellent, she was constantly sway on missions or assisting Nott. Having her take on such a young apprentice would take up too much of her time and waste her skills.

"Fine. Pick one and have them introduce themselves to Anakin in a few days. I'll also enroll him into the military academy so be can be introduced to other skills so he can have a diverse skillset and proper education."

"Understood, Father. Anything else?" Nott was yawning.

She wanted to get back to her room and head to bed.

"Handcuffs. Really?" Jial just couldn't believe that she would hamdcuff him.

Actually, he could definitely believe it. All of his kids had a screw loose.

"I warned him," she laughed. Nott yawned once more before Jial let her go rest.

Cleopatra left shortly afterward as well to start the interrogation of Gunray.

The next few days were a major adjustment period for their newest members.

Anakin and Shmi had been enslaved for the longest so they weren't used to the luxury of the Yautja. Even their normal citizens were wealthier than the average Core World citizen while their military officers and high ranking civil officials were as wealthy as large planetary companies.

The pair had to adjust their mindsets in order to not stick out like country bumpkins in their minds but in truth, most people barely noticed them. There were so many citizens that a few new ones didn't create any waves.

Shmi was sent to a trade school so that she could learn a craft to earn a living with while Anakin was sent to the military academy.

At the academy, he would spend about 4 hours a day along with kids his age whose parents enrolled them or orphans that chose to join. They came from all backgrounds and walks of life so Anakin fit in like a normal kid.

After normal classes, he would have private tutoring with 8th Brother or Kira as Anakin knew him.

While most Force-sensitive kids would enjoy a general class, exceptional ones were offered private training opportunities.

Maul was going through a different experience. He was brought into the Acolytes. His skills and knowledge allowed him to be promoted to a Class 4 military official but due to concerns about loyalty and lack of command experience, that was as far as he could reach in a short period of time.

Maul also spent a considerable amount of time with Nott and Caina, learning from their vast knowledge about the Force. Nott had even managed to purge him of his Dark Side corruption, allowing Maul to reach his full potential.

The rest of the Yautja continued to operate as usual but after 3 months, there was a major event that occurred. Palpatine was officially named the Supreme Chancellor and the Trade Federation had sent an army to the border of Yautja Space.

They had claimed that Jial had Gunray and were ready to take him back by force if necessary.
