Within a simple house a figure could be found asleep until a door slowly opens. The door opening caused the figure to awaken and this person was no other than Marcus himself.

Once he regained his bearings he noticed his surroundings causing him to become confused momentarily.

Before Marcus could do anything he heard an all to familiar voice.

"Morning Marcus, I came to check up on you and here I find that you are just waking up! Hurry up and get ready otherwise we are going to be late for your appointment." Once Marcus looked towards the voice he was dumbfounded.

"Mom?" The woman just ignored the question and continued.

"Don't Mom me mister, we are going to be late so you need to wake up." the environment soon began to distort until he jolted awake and noticed he was still onboard the Reclaimer.

'Just a dream Marcus... Just a dream... I don't know if I should be glad to have them or hate them for reminding me of something ill never be with again...' Soon enough Marcus cleaned himself up and brushed his teeth and once he tidies himself up he began making his way towards a particular room.

'I've waited long enough and it's about time I begin combat simulations.' Marcus examined the open room and noticed that this place was another 'modification' added to the ship. Not knowing how it worked yet he sent a notification to SN-21 to meet him here.

He noticed multiple devices hovering within the air as they floated seemingly aimlessly. Once a few minutes passed he heard SN-21.

"You called Commander?" she already could guess the matters at hand due to her Commander calling her to such a place and once he spoke it confirmed her guess.

"SN-21 I need you to explain how to activate the combat simulator. I'd like a full rundown as well, also how is are first Class-Five citizens? It was a father and his daughter right?" Marcus watched as she smiled which for some reason caused him to feel uneasy.

"Why are you smiling SN-21?" When she responded to his question Marcus did not know how he should feel about it.

"I'm just glad you are becoming a capable commander. I'll now explain the downloaded simulations available. Before explaining, however, the family is currently cherishing the benefits while those around them keep trying to locate Xeno's to inform the authorities so that they to may be promoted." Marcus nodded and waited with interest as she began downloading the relative information.

"The combat simulator is capable of virtually creating available entities with the assistance of the Mark-37 Holo-drone. With this drone, they can simulate an accurate representation of said entities. Once the simulation begins the droids will be capable of complex tactics and schemes while also being able to cause not life-threatening injuries." Marcus suddenly spoke up causing her to pause.

"How are they able to cause harm if they are simply a hologram?" Marcus really could not understand as a hologram should pass through him as if it did not exist in the first place. Should it not be impossible for one to cause harm?

"Commander the drone can charge microscopic particles which would transfer the charge to simulate damage from a blaster bolt for example. The most damage you could receive would be an electrical burn at most." Marcus never heard of this type of technology before so he just assumed it came from SN-21 creators. But he also thought that for a civilization of such caliber the drone seems rather... Primitive.

'Now that I think about it SN-21 seems a tad bit less advanced compared to being able to transport people from one universe to another... Did they give me hand-me-downs?' He was brought out of his thought by his second in command who continue with the explanation.

"To active the simulation, you must simply repeat the phrase 'Start Simulation' in which a console will arise letting you input the desired settings." Marcus waited for the console but nothing happened.

"Where is the console? You said Start Simulation but-" Marcus then noticed the console rise nearby the entrance to the room and he then realized it only recognizes his voice.

After walking up to it he noticed a few things.

Loadout*

Marcus' eye's locked on the loadout option and soon enough he was looking at another screen dedicated to weapons.

* Arkanian Pistol ( Kotor ) - This is a versatile blaster variant, possibly of ancient Arkanian origin. The Arkanians are very proud that such early efforts continue to be prized among collectors and soldiers.

Blaster pistol ( Kotor ) - The Blaster Pistol was a common sidearm of most military infantry units and various gangsters, bounty hunters, and other villany in the galaxy. It would release a short ranged bolt. They were generally not very powerful. *

The number of weapons was mind-numbing, from blasters to Vibroblade's, soon Marcus spotted a weapon he found interest in.

* Mandalorian Heavy Pistol (Kotor) - The Mandalorian Heavy Pistol was an extremely modified version of the Heavy Blaster. It was used by Mandalorian warriors during and after the Mandalorian War, as well as mercenaries lucky enough to get their hands on it, such as the famous bounty hunter Calo Nord. *

Once he selected the weapon a drone flew towards him and shot a beam of light towards my hand as SN-21 spoke.

"Commander the drones can simulate the weight of a weapon, energy capacity, and recoil, and so on but note that weapons created within the simulation are only useable on simulated entities." he nodded his head in an understanding manner and after a quick examination, Marcus pressed 'Begin Starter Simulation' causing the aimlessly wandering drones to spring 'alive' and started shooting beams of light together until a silhouette began forming.

Once the silhouette formed completely a damaged T3-series utility droid was slowly rolling towards him as it started to beep. Marcus had no idea what it was possibly saying as he remembered droids communicated in such a way.

Had a bit of time to write with my phone so here you go.

The next chapter will show more of Marcus’s past and the combat simulator.

Leave a review, thanks.

Well bye for now I guess
