19 Battle of Geonosis

After getting a pep talk from the jedi masters about the battle plan, the strike team got into their ships, left the atmosphere before all jumping into hyperspace at the same time. The choice for getting there was either take a Consular-class Republic Cruiser with a few other jedi or fly your own ship there with the hyperspace rings available.

Obviously I'm taking my own ship, why would I risk getting put in a ship with a bunch of weirdos when I could sit with the tunes in my own. So for the next couple hours it just me and some wicked beats.

Once we jumped into hyperspace I pulled out my space age tune making machine. With gear like this I've no clue how they've managed to make bad music with stuff like this. There's basically an infinite amount of possibilities with the song you can make using this, you don't even need your own vocals either. There's a setting that lets you create your own vocals by just messing around with a few buttons, quality since songs without vocals just feel weird in my opinion.

Plugging the machine in I started messing around with it trying to create more music from back home. Obviously sticking my bootlegged version of the national anthem on repeat for the majority of the trip before spending the rest making more bootlegged songs that I'll claim as my own if anyone asks.

Eventually the ship left hyperspace and with it came the rest of the strike team. As instructed we followed Mace Windu's ship to the landing area, which next to a plateau not far from the arena. To get there the ships had to enter the atmosphere quite far away from the arena before flying low towards the landing point.

If you asked me instead of landing I would've just blown the cunts up with the ships laser canons before doing a quick pick up for Kenobi, Anakin and Padme. Once they were in a ship everyone could just fly away back to Coruscant. Way less risk and casualties involved.

Landing the ships, everyone gets out and begins splitting up into groups for entering the arena.

Switching the ship off I jump out the cockpit and make my way over to Aayla, Plo Koon, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Coleman Trebor and Bultar Swan. A decent group on paper, shame that ones a psychopath and another can't even block a few blaster shots without dying. At least being near Aayla and Plo makes it easier to drag them away from the battlefield when shit hits the fan.

It's probably going to be a pain in the arse since they'll want to help their fellow jedi out, but nothing I can't handle. As for the other two I honestly don't care, Mundi's just got a few screws loose from reading the code too often, the mans literally been turned loony by the order and Trebor. Well I've not got much of an opinion on him, just seems like he died a pretty shit death, nothing for me to cry over anyway and I never even knew Swan existed till today so there's that.

"Let us move to our position" Mundi said to the rest of the group as he turned his back to us and started walking away. Man the sticks so far up his arse you could see it when he's talking. He's basically the walking embodiment of everything wrong with the jedi order just now.

In a nutshell the Order's just pushing people down the path of loosing all emotions, what's the point in being alive if you can't feel anything.

Giving Plo and my master a quick look we follow on behind megamind.

Along the way Aayla turns to me and asks "You feeling any better with all these Jedi here with you".

Almost scoffing I tell her "Not a chance, you know how I feel about this mission".

After I say this Plo Koon jumps in "I know you have your doubts about this mission, but there was just no way of having anyone apart from the us attempt a rescue" breathing through his apparatus Plo continues, "No other planet would agree to set up a strike team in time to save them".

"I still think stalling for time would've been better instead of what the council has planned" I said while scratching the lid of my flask from the inside of my robe.

"Worry not young padawan, if all goes well there will be no fighting" the Master firmly says.

As much as I like Plo, he's too trusting in the council for his own good. But so are most Jedi, they just follow blindly without realising the consequences if things go tits up.

I told Aayla, Plo and Shaak Ti about how I felt something was going to go wrong during this mission but they just said I couldn't trust the force visions and dismissed my warnings that easily. I know that visions aren't 100% accurate but they should've at least took something from it.

Soon after we began walking I saw the arena for the first time, if I never knew what it looked like already I wouldn't have been able to tell it apart from a rocky hill. From the outside it looks like a boulder that's been upscaled a few hundred times.

As we got closer we could hear the cackling of the geonosian crowd as the cheered at what was going on in the arena. It sounded fucking disgusting, like a sea of people choking on something. Man those bugs make a horrible sound.

When we reach the walls of the arena Mundi speaks up, "We have to go through these alcoves to reach inside of the arena. From here on everyone must be as stealthy as possible, therefore no lightsabers until Master Windu gives us the signal. Understand?".

Honestly I was expecting a more advanced form of stealth to be used instead of just being quiet and not using lightsabers, but if it worked before why should I complain.

Heading through the dark tunnels gave me a sense of being in a maze, the winding long passageways and the everlasting darkness felt like they were keeping you captive. I wouldn't know if I was going in the right direction if it wasn't for the passageway getting progressively brighter and the sound from the crowd getting clearer.

Coming to a cross junction Master Plo stops us from walking any further and signals us to take cover against the indents in the wall. Swiftly following his orders the group presses against the left wall. Moments later I could hear the beating of wings rapidly approaching, holding my breath I pressed against the wall and my eyes traced the figures of several geonosian's racing towards the seating, narrowly passing by our group.

A minute of so later I let myself breath again with Plo Koon giving us the all clear. Around 20 or so meters in front of us was the opening that would take us to the lowest seating area around the arena floor.

With every step we took towards the light, my heart rate increased. My mind was filled with the thought of being trapped within the arena surrounded by legions of droids. My rough tattooed hand scratched at the flask on my belt as we waited at the edge of the doorway, waiting for the signal to come out.

While waiting for Mace to stop a party I look at my master, "I something goes wrong, don't do anything daft" I whispered.

Getting a compassionate smile in return Aayla rubs my shoulder and encourages my by saying in a thick accent "Don't worry, if something like your vision happens make sure you stay close to me and don't wander off. I'll keep you safe."

Aye right man the only thing that could keep me safe is not being here. Still I gave her a small smile of acceptance for the thoughtful gesture.

Suddenly Mundi gives us the gesture to come outside as he steps into the light and ignites his blue lightsaber striking a funny looking pose. As stressful as this situation was the sight of seeing so many jedi posing with a lightsaber almost made me laugh, well until the gates opened and battle droids started flooding in.
