21 Three Days

It's been three days since I saw Vanessa, and I can't get her or our conversation out of my mind. 

When I ask Ivan about her, he says she's not talking yet. Vanessa may not be talking to him, but she talked—a lot—to me. I haven't told him, though, and I don't plan to. 

So much of what she said was remarkable, but I keep returning to that last question she asked me. Will I help her? And every time I hear it spoken and see her tear-filled eyes, I'm more determined to do just that. But I have no idea how.

I've run it through my head a thousand times. How would I get away with it? What diversion could I create to allow her time to escape? She needs time to get down the mountain. She needs to find her way back.
