Lion and the deer-2

*NOTE IN THE WORKING OF BEING FIXED*

"Little Doe?"

The man's body was muscular, his chest was wide and a small strip of animal hide hung over his shoulder and went down into a skirt that hung around his waist and loin. In his hands was a woven basket full of raw meat.

His biceps bulged out in muscle they were the largest but it was clear he wasn't one to be taken lightly.

A mess of unkept golden hair hid two perked up animal eats, and not only that but a long tail flicked curiously behind him. Brown hair at the tip of the tail caught the woman's eye.

The woman had already decided she had been found by a weirdo, cosplaying as some sort of cavemen animal. Though she had to admit he was attractive but she knew it was pretty creepy. She covered herself up with her hands as she tried standing but her legs gave out as they shook slightly.

He went to try and help the woman but she immediately flinched away as a frightened look crossed her face, she went to say something but nothing came from her lips.

He looked a little rejected but he retracted his hand gently as he rummaged through his bag looking for something.

"Which tribe are you from Doe?"

The woman looked confused as she about jumped out of her skin every time he moved, she opened her mouth as her voice was shaky and nervous.

"Tribe? W-what are you talking about I'm from New Jersey." Most would assume he would know that, surely this stranger knew her accent was very noticeable even to a toddler.

The male looked at her like she was the strange one! He had finally found what he was looking for in his bag. He pulled out a think animal pelt and offered it to the woman.

He looked at me like I was the strange one!

Finally finding what he was looking for, he pulled out a thick animal hide and offered it to me.

"Here put this around you, it's just a covering not any clothes or anything but it'll do for now."

She quickly grabbed the skin and put it around herself, her face flushed. "Thank you…" The woman muttered looking away at the water. If this was a normal situation she wouldn't have ever dreamed about taking some sort of animal skin to cover her self, yet it wasn't much else she could use.

He put the basket down by the water and went back over to her.

"I have never heard of 'New Jersey', but you look like your from the Deer Tribe." He said offering Maria a hand to stand up, she gripped the animal skin tighter and took his hand.

Hoisting herself up she let go of his hand and backed away. "Deer tribe?" she questioned watching him carefully, he put his hand on his hips and looked at her.

"Not ringing any bells? I don't know if you are or not. That tribe is miles away I don't see how a female could get to far from it." He said his eyes showed deep thought.

The woman wanted to go home so bad she almost started crying again but she held herself together.

"I'll tell you what, I'll bring you to the tribe I'm staying at as of now, then I can take you to the Deer tribe and see if their missing a female?" He said his eyes gentling, I didn't know what to do. Nor where I am, I slowly nodded and looked around. Somehow I have to get away I don't know how, or when but I got to get back.

"What is your name?" He asked in a soft tone wanting to approach but not wanting to scare me.

"I-I'm Maria Johnston . Y-you are?" I questioned trying to seem friendly but I was still very nervous and wanting a cigarette. My head was hurting from the withdrawal from not having one in a while.

"Well Maria Johnston I am, Roy. Your name is very long is it not?" He said chuckling lightly.

"Maria is my first name, Johnston is my last name." I said without being so shaky if this man was going to hurt me he would have done so already, besides what was I going to lose?

"What is a last name?" He said tilting his head in confusion, I look at him weirdly.

"It's… Well it's… my last name? Y-you can just call me Maria." I said looking away again my face still flushed.

"Maria, is a very nice name." He said smiling, and he tilted his head towards the basket of meat.

"I've got to wash the meat before we go, here come over by the water." He said already heading towards the bank.

I hesitated but followed him, keeping my distance. He grabbed a huge slab of meat and begin washing it in the water of the small pond.

I watched him, his refined features were breath taking he wasn't to old or to young. He was one handsome guy and it seemed like he knew it.

The water around the meat turned a cloudy red color as the blood got into it. I cringed and looked away, I heard a slap of the meat being put into the basket.

"Do you have any males?" He questioned, I turned back and looked at him in a lot of confusion.

"Uh I don't have any males? What is that suppose to mean?" I tilted my head and looked at him.

"I mean do you have any spouses? You don't smell like you've been with any male yet." He said looking in my direction, I waved a hand in front of me and shook my head.

"No! No, no I'm not married." I said grasping at the animal skin and my face on fire.

He chuckled and patted my head.

"Then I have a chance?" He said with a smile on his face, I was stunned my mouth agape and my face hot in embarrassment.

He took his hand off my head and handed me the basket. I almost gagged looking at the huge chunk of meat, I looked back at him in disgust. He chuckled and his body began shifting into something not human, I let out a scream and back away quickly basket still in hand. My legs were back to shaking as now a huge lion was in the place of Roy. He approached me, I back up as far as I could.

"Please, d-don't hurt me!" I whispered loudly praying for my safety tears started to form in my eye. My back hit a hard surface which told me I couldn't back up anymore. I slid down watching in horror as the lion approached me. I shielded myself with the basket and squeezed my eyes shut ready for my life to be canceled.

Instead I felt a large rough tongue lap at my shaking arm. I look up trembling in fear, the big round eyes of the lion shown a gentle amber. He nuzzled his giant head across my arm, shakily standing up I look at him in slight fear.

"A-are you…. A-a-are you R-Roy?" I asked my legs begging to give out I held the basket as comfort.

The lion let out a low roar but I felt nothing but gentleness from the sound, he approached again. This time I didn't back away I let him come near, he was huge fear still gripped my heart but I felt like if it really was Roy I was safe. He brushed him side on my stomach and stopped there waiting for something.

I looked at him in confusion, he sighed and bowed down lowering himself as if beckoning me to get on.

I placed my hand on his back and slowly got onto his back careful to not dump over the meat.

Another low roar emitted from the lion as he started walking.
