Some Emotional Adjustments

SONIC'S POV

I don't know what had got into Amy. She was becoming so rude to Sonica... And I had no idea Sonica would yell like that. It looked like she was hurt. Then she ran home. I tried to stop her but I was late, Sonica had already ran away.

"Look what you did, Amy?!" I said crossing my arms.

"What did I do?! I just wanted to know why she was so....emotionless...." replied Amy.

"Everything has a reason, Amy and I think she is hurt..." I said again while uncrossing my arms.

There was silence among us for a moment then I sighed. "You have to apologize to Sonica, Amy!" I said while pointing at Amy.

"But-" I cut off Amy and said, "You have to!"

Then Amy sighed and nodded slowly.

"Now, lets pack all the stuff and go home now." I said again.

Then everyone nodded. We started packing all our stuffs.

"Everyone done, right? Now, lets go." I said. Everyone nodded except Amy.

"Sonic, I-I think I've forgotten something...." said Amy.

"Oh, What is it?" I asked.

"I-I don't know but I think...something is missing...." replied Amy and started thinking.

I scratched my head in confusion and sighed, "I don't think anything is missing, Amy. Now, lets go."

Amy looked unsure but nodded slowly. Then we started to head home.

After sometime, we reached the village. It was noon, now.

"Ok! Amy and I will go to Sonica's house to apologize. And Tails, Sticks, Knuckles you guys can head home and rest for now." I said.

Everyone nodded.

Then I heard Amy muttering, "I still think something is missing...."

I sighed.

SONICA'S POV

I was with Key the whole time. I was kinda happy. I know if I show my emotions, my powers show up too. But when I am alone in the nature or with Key, I don't need to hide my emotions nor my powers. And when I can show my powers and emotions I use them and try to control them.

And I am glad I am improving. I am able to control my powers a little bit. Before, if I even laughed flowers would bloom but now, I have been able to control it. Now, when I smile or laugh nothing happens. It means I am getting a little hold of my powers.

I was really happy with Key. Then I climbed on top of Key. My eyes widened after I saw that squirrels and birds had built their home on top of Key. I was about to scare them away but then Key stopped me.

"You are really going to let them stay like this?" I asked.

Then Key nodded.

"Ok, Key. Its your wish." I said and smiled.

And then a small vine came behind me and started tickling me behind my ear.

I started to laugh, "Stop it, Key." I chuckled as well.

Just then, I heard someone calling my name. "Sonica! Sonica, Are you home?" I heard someone say.

I sighed and wanted to ignore it. But then I felt a branch holding me by my waist and it put me down on the ground. Yes, it was Key. Key signalled me to go.

"But I don't want to go. I will stay with you." I said and tried to climb on Key again but Key put me down again and signalled me to go.

"Sonicaa!" I heard again.

I sighed. Then a branch pushed me slowly.

"Ok, ok. Fine! I will go. But I will be back soon, Key." I said and placed my forehead at the trunk of Key. "Bye, Key." I said again and went to my house.

Soon, I was standing right behind my house.

"Sonica! Are you home?" I heard again,

"I think she is not home."

I sighed and I went infront. "Yes, I am here." I said while crossing my arms.

"Oh, hi, Sonica." said Sonic.

"Hello. You guys had some work?" I asked in a monotone voice.

Sonic hesitated, "Uh....Y-yes, actually."

Then I heard him whispering something to Amy.

Then Amy took a step forward and said, "Sonica, I am sorry. I know you are mad at me but I am really sorry if you were hurt. I just wanted to know why were you so emotionless..." She looked down sadly.

I was surprised after hearing it. I didn't think that she would be sorry. She looked down sadly and I kinda felt bad for her.

"Its okay. I am also sorry for yelling like that." I replied.

Then she looked at me and smiled. And I don't know why but I felt somewhat happy though I didn't smile. Then it started raining.

"Oh, it has started raining. I am glad you forgave me, Sonica. I have to go now. See you soon. Bye Sonic, Bye Sonica!" said Amy.

Then I quickly ran in my house and came out with an umbrella. "Here." I said and gave Amy the umbrella.

"Thankyou. See you soon. Byee." replied Amy as she went to her home."

"Bye." I and Sonic said in unison.

"So...are you free?" asked Sonic.

"Yes." I replied.

"Can...I umm...come in then?" asked Sonic while scratching his head.

"Sure." I replied and went inside.

He came in after me and sat on the couch. And for your kind information, I didn't show any emotions.

Then I went to the kitchen and asked, "Tea or coffee?"

"No need for that." replied Sonic.

"Tea or coffee?" I asked again.

Sonic hesitated and replied, "Um...tea....?"

I nodded and made some tea for us. I gave him a cup of tea.

"Thankyou." said Sonic and I nodded.

Then I sat on a chair at the opposite side of Sonic while facing him. It started raining more heavily.

I took a sip of my tea. So did he. There was silence in the room. And for the first time, I felt awkward being silent.

But then he broke the silence, "Sonica, Can I ask something, if you don't mind?"

I nodded, "Yes, what is it?"

He laughed nervously and said, "You know...like Amy said....Why don't you show your emotions?"

"I wish I could tell you but I can't. I am forced to do so." I thought to myself.

Then he said again, "Its okay, if...you don't want to say it. I am not forcing you."

I snapped out of my thoughts. Then, I sighed,"I am sorry. Its just- After an incident in my past, I stopped showing my emtions. But now, I.....I am trying to show my emotions. It has been so long since I hid my emotions and I am now unsure how to reveal my emotions..."

The thing is I have been training myself so that my emotions don't affect my powers and I am kinda improving. So...maybe its time to reveal my emotions...

Then Sonic nodded slowly and asked, "I am sorry, Sonica but can I know what was the reason to hide your emotions in the first place?"

"Because-I....I am sorry. I can't tell you...please try to understand..." I replied.

"Y-yes, Sonica. Its okay. I understand. And it's okay to reveal your true emotions. I am glad you have decided to show your emotions. If you need any help with your emotions, do tell me, ok?" He said.

"Y-yes, sure. But I am confused how to begin." I replied.

Then he smiled, "You can just start with a smile. And as time passes you will learn to deal with your emotions easily."

I nodded slowly.

"So, come on, smile :)" He said.

"O-k. But its not that easy to smile for me." I replied.

"Hmm, then try to remember something from your past that may make you smile." suggested Sonic.

I nodded and closed my eyes. Then I remembered Eva. I remembered her birthday and all that cake and balloons and gifts, she was happy. Then I smiled automatically.. I opened my eyes and looked at Sonic. Eva was still on my mind and I was smiling.

"See, I told you it would work." He chuckled.

And I don't know why but.....I chuckled too?!

He looked surprised.

And just then Eva and Professor's death flashed on my mind and my smile faded away.

"Anything wrong?" He asked.

I shook my head slowly as a 'No'.

Then he smiled softly and held my hands and said, "Its okay, Sonica. I will always be here when you need help."

I nodded while looking at him but that holding hands made me feel a bit awkward. Sonic realized that we were holding hands and quickly took his hands back.

"I-I am sorry. Its just-I..." He tried to say. And was he blushing?

SONIC'S POV

After I realized that we were holding hands, I quickly took my hands back and tried to apologize. Oh My God! I was blushing, too! I hope she doesn't notice it. I just wanted to help her. I don't why I held her hands.

"Its okay." she replied.

Finally, I felt relieved.

It was still raining heavily and the room started getting dark.

"Thats strange..." I scratched my head.

"What is strange?" asked Sonica.

"The room. Its getting darker." I replied.

"Oh, yes. What time is it?" She asked and looked at the wall clock. "Oh.. It's already 6:15 pm? I thought it was just 3 pm."

I chuckled and replied, "I thought the same too. Time flies very quickly."

"Yeah.." replied Sonica and turned on the lights.

The room was bright again. Then I looked at the table and saw...some photos..of two hedgehogs.

"Aw, Sonica, is that you? Who's the other one?" I asked while chuckling.

"Yeah, that me. And the other one is...was....an old friend of mine." replied Sonica, her ears flattened.

"Was? What do you mean?" I asked again.

"She's no longer in this world.." replied Sonica.

"I-I am sorry, Sonica..." I apologized.

She sighed, "No, its fine."

I sighed too, "Well, I think I should go now..." She nodded slowly and said, "Ok, as you wish." She stood up and so did I.

And I started walking towards the door but just then the lights went out. And it was complete dark in the room.

"W-wait, I will find the torch..It was somewhere around...." said Sonica.

I heard her footsteps. "I will help too." I said and tried walking here and there in search of torch.

The room was so dark. I couldn't see anything. Ugh!!! When did it become so dark?!

And just then I bumped to something or maybe someone, "Ah!" I said and fell down but I supported myself with my palms lifting my weight.

I also felt.... someone... under me. I felt someone's breath under me.

"Uhh...Sonic? Is that you?" asked Sonica.

And just then the lights came on. I felt relieved but then my eyes widened. I was on top of Sonica!!!!

"Oh, no! I am so so sorry." I apologized and got up.

She got up too.

I scratched my head nervously and said very fast, "I have to go now. I am sorry. Bye."

Then I quickly ran outside. As I was her neighbour, I ran inside my shack within a few seconds. But it was raining heavily so...I got wet. I dried myself with a towel and layed down on the hammock. I felt a little....aright! I felt alot embaressed after all that light out incident. I shook it off and sighed and then I closed my eyes.

SONICA'S POV

When the lights were out, I tried searching for a torchlight. I could use my lightning or fire power to lighten the house but powers are a secret. So, I had to search for the torch. It was dark. And then I bumped to Sonic and fell down on my back. But what I didn't even expect was that Sonic would fall on top of me. Thank god, he supported himself with his palms which helped to keep at least a little distance between us.

And after the lights came on, I was shocked to see that we were very very close, our lips almost touching, my eyes were slightly wide. He quickly got up and apologized.

Then he spoke very quickly, "I have to go now. I am sorry. Bye." and ran outside.

"O-k..." I replied but he was already gone. I sighed.

He is kinda cute though. Wait. Did I just think he is cute? No, I didn't. Well, yes I did. What's happening to me? My thoughts were mixed up.

Then, I took a deep breath, "I think you need some sleep, Sonica." I said to myself and quickly jumped on my bed. I sighed while remembering how my day was today....and soon I fell asleep.
