88 Issue 88: The Amazing Web Part 2

"ARGH!!" Peter smacked his head against the ground before jumping to the ceiling.

He rolled around and struggled as visions of reality being torn apart by a pitch-black hole suddenly filled his head.

When it stopped, Peter realized that countless lives had just been lost. He looked up to see that the portal was off, and the strange web was nowhere to see.

"The web is in danger…"

He hopped back to the ground and connected to MJ telepathically.

"You felt that right?"

"I did." MJ replied with fear in her voice.

"I think we have to check in on our friend. What the hell happened?" Peter opened the portal to Miles' universe and another for MJ.

She jumped through and changed into her suit at the same time.

"What do you think happened to the web?"

"There's a hole in it. It like an entire universe was sucked into a large empty void." Peter held out a set of injections.

"What's that?"

"I cheated a little on finding the bones. I just teleported them over and got all four Immortal Beasts in one go."

"Neat, so this is them? Anything interesting happen."

"Oh, definitely. I already used it on myself, and I can say without a doubt, my Chi has become something that feels divine in nature. I got that same feeling from the Asgardians when they use magic."

"So…Divine Chi?"

"I can't think of anything else to call it," Peter chuckled.

MJ injected the Serum and went through the same changes Peter did. Her skin was glossier, she gained the combined abilities of the four directional beasts, and her Chi evolved into into the same tier of crazy Peter had reached. The only difference was that MJ's Chi was white with specs of black glowing like stars.

"Holy crap…why didn't you tell me how much it'd hurt!" MJ huffed.

"Would it have made a difference? I don't know about you, but I'd rather not know when the tape is being ripped off. You know the old band-aid idiom, right?"

"Well…sigh…I guess the pain was worth it. I feel stronger than ever."

"Come on, whatever's happening is serious. That vision I got, I'm sure it was coming from 1610."

"So, we get see Miles again? Neat, should we bring ours along."

"At first I wanted to, but now it's not safe."

"Peter, he's a Spider too. He can handle it."

"What about Gwen. She's a Spider too, sort of," Peter scratched the back of his head.

"Why don't we just make her one already?" MJ shook her head.

"Well, she has proven her capabilities," Peter handed her a Serum that was made from his own blood. With the isolated Spider-Gene, she would gain a copy of his Spider powers."

"I'll be back in a bit."

Peter waited by the portal for a few minutes when Reed came in to check on him.

"Everything alright?"

"It could be better," Peter sighed.

"Did something happen?"

"Yeah, something is eating away at the Multiverse."

"WHAT?" Reed's eyes widened.

"Relax, we didn't do it. At least, I'm confident that this machine has nothing to do with it."

"So, what's happening then?"

"Something I have to fix. The Spider-Totems are kind of obligated to protect the Web of Life and Destiny. If we don't the multiverse could unravel."

"That's not good," Reed's eyes widened.

"No, it really isn't."

"I'm back!" MJ said as she hopped through alongside Miles and Gwen.

Peter waved his hand, "Yo!"

"Peter! It's been a while. I mean, your clone is getting better at talking, but it's totally different, ya know?" Miles walked over and shook his hand.

"I hear you made Harlem your stomping ground. I saw just how hard you've been working to keep the streets clean. Good work, kid."

"Spider-Man just thanked me."

"Cool off, fanboy," Gwen said as she shook Peter's hand, "Thanks for the power up."

"No problem. Just use it wisely and responsibly and we're all good."

"Will do…so, why are we here?" Gwen asked.

Peter looked at MJ and said, "You didn't tell them?"

"I figured you'd want to."

"Right…well, did your Spider-Senses go nuts a little while ago?" both of them nodded their heads, "We're going to fix whatever was the cause of it was, and that just so happens to be in another universe."

"Right…wait…WHAT?" Both Gwen and Miles shouted.

"You know we don't have a return system yet," Reed commented.

"Oh, we do," Peter nudged his head at MJ.

"I can make a replica of this machine. Who knows, I might even be able to make a better one."

"Wait, hold on, we're going to another universe? Like the multiverse?" Miles asked.

"Yeah. MJ and I are practically experts at dimensional travel now."

"You've done this before?" Gwen showed a shocked expression.

"We've been around the multi-block a few times," MJ chuckled.

"This…this is a lot to take in," Miles grabbed his head, "Are we ready for this?"

"Miles…did I ever tell you about the leap of faith?" Peter smirked.

"N…no,"

"Well, it's time to take yours." Peter slapped a stabilizer on the kid's hand and shoved him into the portal.

"That wasn't very nice," MJ shook her head as he jumped in with Gwen.

"No, but it was funny," Peter followed after.

The wormhole zipped by them with a myriad of colors and shapes. It was both fascinating and a bit frightening.

"YOU ASSHOLE!" Miles shouted as they all fell towards the exit.

Peter laughed as he exited the other side and noticed he was plummeting towards the street. He webbed a line out and bounced back into the air alongside everyone else.

"We're back," MJ smiled as he looked over the rooftop.

"Is this really a different world? It looks so much like our New York," Gwen stood beside MJ.

"It's real, we're really in another world!" Miles couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"Now let's see if we can find our counterparts…" Peter pulled up what he was now officially calling his Infinity Search Bar and questioned where they currently were.

"The heck is that?" Miles asked with interest.

"Magic Search Bar," Peter smiled.

"Dude, you know magic? Sick!" Miles cheered.

"I know. I thought the same when they brought me to New York's Sanctum," Gwen nodded her head.

"How come she gets to go to a magic sanctum?" Miles thought it was a bit more than unfair.

"If you want to learn magic, it'll have to wait a while. We're still working out a schooling program with Kamar-Taj. It takes a lot to move a seasoned Sorcerer, especially when it comes to making them teachers of teenage children."

Miles and Gwen showed a surprised expression, "Whoa, so magic is going to be a subject we can take at Avengers High?"

"Can we even learn that stuff?" Gwen couldn't believe she'd get a chance to learn magic.

"Strangely enough, Mutants and Super Powered people have high affinity with magic learning, but it's not for everyone," MJ followed up.

"Sooooo coooool,"

"Follow me, Spiderette, Spider-Woman, Spider…dude?" Peter webbed off.

Miles chased after as he jumped beside his mentor and said, "Oh, I forgot about that, I'm still working on that name. I think I'm going for either Shield-Spider or Sword-Spider,"

"You've been playing too much Pokemon," Gwen flipped by him and webbed under train bridge and gracefully landed on top of its other side before kicking off it to vault her into the lead.

Miles tilted his body and slipped through the gaps in the bridges support structures and webbed to a nearby building before pulling himself up to Gwen, just to point at her and say, "You introduced me to the game!"

MJ ran on the side of a building before zip-lining to a flagpole and then webbed out between two buildings to vault her right up next to Gwen and Miles, "How about naming yourself after a color or different Species of Spider? Natasha's got the whole Black Widow thing."

Peter hit the top of the bridge and shot zipline to pull himself down before kicking off the very edge of the metal structure. A small footprint was left behind seconds before a small sonic boom echoed out, putting him in the lead as he vaulted over the kids.

"Black Tarantula?" Spider-Man tilted his head as he shot a web out.

"Why cause I'm black?"

"Dude you're half-in-half. But no, there's the actual Black Tarantula over there."

Peter saw him tackling a Spider-Man out of the air.

The Black Tarantula was a hulking man wearing a black mask with light blue spider-mark on the whole of his face. He had on a slick black sleeveless jacket with a large blue spider symbol that worked into the jacket's collar and skintight leggings that ran down to his pitch-black boot-styled footwear.

"Richie! Need a hand!"

"Peter?" Richie wrapped his arms around the Black Tarantula's neck while getting out from the tackle, "Just give me a second. I'll be done with this guy in no time."

The criminal tried to pull himself from up while Spider-Man tightened his choke hold, used his powers to stick himself to the ground, and grinned as he said, "You should have stayed of New York, Carlos. Just because I put the fat man away doesn't mean guys like you get to take over."

"I don't remember you being this strong!"

"I got new suit," Richie tightened his hold even more, "Now go sleep."

"You forget, my strength isn't my only ability!" Carlos' eyes started to glow.

Peter. R let go of his hold before he quickly dodged the eye-laser that melted a hole in the concrete sidewalk.

"His powers come from a potion. A.k.a. A Serum."

"Ah!" Richie grinned as looked at Carlos and said, "Man, today just isn't your day."

"What?"

The Symbiote-Tech Suit shot off of Peter. R, and encased Carlos in a cocoon that had the same red and blue scheme we all know and love.

"Woah, this is some crazy stuff. I've never seen an arachnid venom with these kinds of properties before. Huh, these herbs are rare. I've never even seen this one before either."

This universe's Spider-Man Absorbed the Serum with a bit of tinkering to better suit his physique and felt a jolt from the power boost it gave.

"Wow, so is this what you feel like every time you power up?"

"This your first time getting ahold of someone with a biological enchantment cocktail running through their veins?" Peter asked.

"More or less,"

"My power…what did you do to me?" Carlos called out feeling weaker than ever.

"Made you a regular dude," Peter smirked as he webbed the guy up.

"So, what brings you to my neck of the universe," Peter R. asked.

"The web is in trouble. Something from here is the cause," MJ landed alongside the other Spider-Heroes.

"Really? That's never good." Peter. R looked at Miles and Gwen, "Hey, kiddos. Been a while!"

"Dude it's another Peter," Miles shook Gwen.

"They're from our universe."

"You have 4 Spider-Heroes? Nifty," Richie nodded his head.

"So, what's been happening with you?" Peter asked as he webbed up to a nearby roof.

"I got a kid now," Richie landed next to him.

"You got a kid now?" Peter asked with a shocked expression.

"I got a kid now!" Richie replied with a more excited as he pulled out his phone, "Check out Annie May Parker! Isn't she just the cutest thing in the world?"

"Yep, but what do you expect, she's our kid."

MJ snagged the phone, "Sooo cuuuuteee!!'

Richie moved behind the Spider Quartet and wrapped his arms around them as he said, "I know, right? This is her grumpy face, her laughing face, and this one she learned to pout to get treats from her momma."

"Wow, she's adorable," Gwen smiled.

"Cute kid," Mile nodded his head before saying, "Yo, can we be real for a sec? Not that I don't mind seeing an alternate version of my teacher's kid. But don't we have bigger issues to deal with?"

"Teacher?" Richie lifted a brow.

"Oh, yeah. I'm a part time teacher at Avenger's Academy. I take a more of a hands-on role with teaching Gwen and Miles."

"Cool, yeah, the whole web issue sounds super serious. What do you need?" Richie asked as he finished cuffing the Black Tarantula.

"Have you come across any villains capable tearing out whole sections in the multiverse?" MJ asked.

"Not I remember."

"What about spatial abilities?" Peter followed up.

"Nope, nothing recently anyways?"

"Maybe Miles might have had better luck," Peter sighed as webbed to a nearby building and looked at his version, "How about Ebony Spider."

"Dude!" Miles threw his hands out.

"Dude, your suit is mostly black. The other Spider in our New York goes by Scarlet Spider because his suit is mostly red," Peter rolled his eyes.

"Oh…well, when you put it like that, it does sound kind of cool. If I'm going down that route, there's also Jet, Onyx, Obsidian."

"Ooh, I like Obsidian Spider. Mind if I borrow that one. My Miles has been freaking out over the same thing."

"I mean, you call always use another language too. Peter shrugged his shoulders and started working on finding Miles. However, much to his interest, he found him at the location of the Collider.

"What's he doing there?"

"After it blew up, it was cordoned off. Hey maybe that has something to do with it."

"It blew up?" MJ tilted her head with a confused expression.

"Yeah, a few minutes after you guys left, the whole building was blown high sky. We searched the wreckage for the cause, but we couldn't find anything."

"Nothing?" Mile asked.

"The only thing we found was a large circular scorch mark around where the computer room used to be. We figured someone must've planted a bomb." Richie jumped off the building and started webbing over.

The group followed after him and arrived within minutes to see Miles being thrown through a portal.

"What you didn't know was after taking a hit, the Goblin's bombs dropped where I was hiding. I tried to stop it, grabbed hold of it, waited until you all left...but the moment I sat it back down...it exploded!!! You created me! SPIDER-MAN!"

"I created you?"

"Yes! You created me!"

"Why'd you create this guy, Spider-Man?" Officer Davis asked.

"I didn't!" Miles shouted back.

"Spot?" Peter's voice called out from above them.

"What the…"

"More Spider-Men?"

"And women!" Gwen and MJ said at the same time.

The father of Miles followed up by saying, "And women, why are there so many of you?"

"We have a club," Peter joked.

"Da…uh, I mean, how's it going officer Morales?" The possible Ebony Spider spoke up while trying to disguise his voice.

"That's my wife's last name. I'm Officer Davis!"

"Really?" Ebony Spider felt confused because his dad took his mother's last name in the marriage.

"DON'T IGNORE ME!!!" Spot shouted as his powers went haywire.

Everyone's spider-senses alerted them to danger as they grabbed the other Miles' dad and leapt out of the way.

The pitched black portals he opened tore through what was left of the building and left only a massive crater in its place.

"That's one way to save in cleaning costs," Peter said with a look of fear on his face.

His Spider-Sense told him he was in immediate danger. That hasn't happened in a long time, especially after augmenting his body so much. On top of that, it came from a B-Tier villain Spot.

Of course, Peter only considered him B-Tier because he didn't understand how to properly utilize his power. However, Spot did have series of abilities that would make him an Omega Level threat. He was practically immortal, able to create portals with the same Dark Force the Hero Cloak was connected to, and even had his own empty Realm to escape to. However, what he saw here was frighteningly different.

"I don't remember him being able to do that," Peter mumbled as he saw how his holes decayed the surrounding area. The matter was breaking apart and actually fading from existence itself. Which should be impossible since matter can't be destroyed. Even the most powerful disintegration abilities he knew of left some form of particles like ash or pure carbon.

"Where is he?" MJ asked as she landed next him.

"Gone…" Peter said as he tried to use his Infinity Search Bar to find him, "The hell?"

"What?" MJ asked.

"The information…it's just a single black dot. According to this, he isn't anywhere right now. That's…impossible," Peter scratched his head.

"Can you please get me down now," Jefferson sighed as he hung from his son's hands.

"Right, sorry about that." Miles lowered him to the ground and looked at the destruction.

"No, you saved my bacon. Thanks for that," Jefferson patted the dust off his uniform.

"What we do now?" 881211 Miles asked.

"Find him, somehow. Spot used to be a scientist, so he must have a paper trail we can follow," Peter said with a frown.

"So, some old-fashioned detective work," MJ smiled.

"You know, I am a Cop." Jefferson mentioned.

"We'll need an employee register to find out who was there when the Collider blew up," MJ said.

"No need. His name is probably Johnathon Ohnn. At least that's who he was in our universe. However, we should still run a check. It could be a completely different person here."

"Universe?" Jefferson's eyes widened.

"Oh, yeah. Hey, how's it going. We're Spider-Heroes from another universe. Apparently, multiversal travel is kind of in the job description."

"Really?" Gwen and both versions of Miles asked.

"Web of life & destiny. Have you guys not found out what your Totems are yet?" Peter lifted a brow as he looked at his counterpart.

"What, you haven't told them either. I still remember meeting mine," Richie grabbed his sides and shivered.

"Dude, they appear to you how you imagine them. It doesn't have to be creepy. Spiderette here just got her powers, and I didn't tell Ebony Spider because I thought he already went through it. He seemed pretty on board with accepting his Spider Side." Peter shook his head.

"What? Really? So, I didn't have to see that building sized guy? I had nightmares for weeks!"

"What are you guys talking about?" Gwen, Miles, and Miles said in unison.

"They're conduits for our powers…gods technically," Seeing the blank looks on their faces, MJ smiled and teased, "Oh, you guys are going to have a fun time meeting your Totems. Just hope you don't get a giant monster with all the eyeballs."

"That's a joke, right?" Gwen said with a worried expression.

"Right?" both Miles questioned.

This universe's Miles Morales Davis looked at his counterpart, "Ebony? Really?"

"I'm working on it, I actually kind of like Onyx better, hold on, you know what, let's settle this once and for all. What are the different colors for black?"

"Black, Ebony, Charcoal, Midnight, Ink, Raven, Oil, Grease, Onyx, Pitch, Soot, Sable, Jet, coal, metal, obsidian, jade, spider…well that one won't work, Spider-Spider? And then the last one is leather," Miles Davis rubbed his chin.

"If we're going to do the whole color-scheme thing, then I think using Sable is better. Spider Sable just makes sense," Miles Morales replied.

"Holy crap, I'm a genius! I mean, we're geniuses!"

"So, Spider Sable, is it? That does roll off the tongue nice," Peter and Richie spoke in unison.

"I mean, Ebony Spider sounds cooler, but if that's what you want," Peter shrugged his shoulders.

Richie happened to speak at the same time but said something different, "I mean, Obsidian Spider sounded cooler to me, but if that's what you want."

"Wow...that was annoying," Miles Davis lifted a brow.

"Agreed," Miles Morales added.

"What does other me call herself," Gwen asked.

"Ghost Spider," MJ said with a dull expression.

Gwen blanched, "That's terrible. Why'd she choose something like that?"

"Get this, in her world, Spider-Woman is still available," Peter added.

"Wow, just wow," Gwen pinched the bridge of her nose.

"You guys are all over the place," Jefferson said as he watched the chatter back and forth.

"Yeah, we do that sometimes. So, how's that list coming along?" Richie laughed awkwardly.

"I just put the call in," Officer Davis replied, "I put in a rush order, even with, it'll probably take a few hours to get the warrants."

"Isn't Kingpin in jail?" Miles Davis asked.

"Prisoner or not, he's still got rights," His dad replied.

"Right…well, what do we do now?" Gwen questioned.

"Wait?" MJ sighed.

"No, I'm not one to wait for the bad guys to come knocking at my door," Peter mumbled as he started to look up the guy's last known resident. However, any information on Spot was blanked out.

"My family's throwing a birthday party, we got good food, good company, and I would consider it an honor to host the party with this city's hero. Not to mention, with what you did for my brother, a bit of grub is the least I can do."

Richie smiled, "It would be an honor. I can bring my wife and kid, can't I?"

"Ha, my wife would love that. She's a big fan of Mary Jane Parker's work. Especially that soap she stared in."

"Ugh, I hated that one," Richie shook his head.

"Yeah, me too. I like dramas, but soaps just take it too far," Jefferson sighed.
