Cloak and Dagger #2

Opening Scene it is midnight in Hell's Kitchen New York Tandy and Tyrone have run away from home after getting publicly exposed as mutants and are being hunted by the Purifiers. Tandy is falling apart because of this, and Tyrone is barely hanging on himself. As they were running a man appeared who offered to help.

"Who are you!?"Tyrone says pushing Tandy behind him defensively.

"Relax young mutant I am not here to harm you, as I said before my name is Eric Magnus, and I want to help the two of you," Magneto says calmly landing in front of the bus stop bench.

"Stay back!" Tyrone screamed checking to make sure Tandy is ok. Tandy just stared at the man with awe. She stopped crying after he made his appearance and silently observed him.

"It is ok you two have nothing to fear from me," Magneto says with the same calm tone as before.

"Look I don't know what you want from us, but do us a favor and fly back to wherever the hell you're from," Tyrones says angrily.

"I don't want anything from you I want to help you, You see I run a brotherhood to help guide and train young mutants like yourselves who have had a ruff life much like yourselves," Magneto says grandly like he was giving a college lecture.

"So basically you run some kind of halfway house for mutants?!" Tyrone comments. Magneto lightly laughs.

"I wouldn't call it that but the description is not inaccurate," Magneto says with a half-smile. "If you're interested I could show it to you," Magneto continues to say.

"No thanks, I'm not that curious," Tyrone says still very clearly on guard.

"Really young Ms. Bowen seems to disagree with you," Magneto says pointing to Tandy who looks completely enraptured by the man in front of her.

"You-You know my name," Tandy says as her eyes go wide with surprise.

"Yes child I know a lot and I am sorry for the fate life has given you never being truly accepted by your mother and tossed aside like garbage it is a fate all too common for our species," Magneto says with a pitying look in his eyes.

"And you can help us," Tandy says.

"Tandy we don't know this guy we can't just trust him like that" Tyrone says grabbing Tandy shoulders forcing her to look at him.

"I know your lives have been difficult and trusting others is hard, Lord knows that was an obstacle for me, but I only want to help you and our species get out of the oppressive human regime," Magneto says passionately.

"How do you plan on doing that," Tyrone says with an accusatory tone.

"I plan on balancing the scales making the world that works for them work for us make them see us as just as a force not to trifled with," Magneto says with the same passion as before. Tyrone thinks "This guy is trouble I got to get me and Tandy away from here".

"I'm in," Tandy says out loud.

"What!?" Tyrone yells in surprise.

"What he's saying is right humanity screwed us. All it took was for us to glow in public and like that they turned on us and hunted us like dogs. If he is going to try and change that I'm in," Tandy says stepping forward.

"I welcome you with open arms Ms. Bowen," Magneto says with a large smile on his face.

"Call me Tandy I'm not a Bowen anymore," Tandy says remembering her mother's last words to her.

"You can't be serious you trust this man who came out of nowhere," Tyrone says grabbing Tandy's arm pulling her back.

"Yes I do are you coming or do you want to stay here," Tandy says pulling her arm free of Tyrone's grip. Tyrone thought about it for a moment he knew this guy was shady and his "offer" is only going to screw them over but, he couldn't leave Tandy alone with him.

"Fine I'll go with you but I still don't trust this guy," Tyrone says glaring at Magneto.

"Understandable Mr. Johnson trust is earned and I am fully prepared to work for it," Magneto says with a smile as he waves his hand and the bus stop bench fly's through the air and scoops up Tandy and Tyrone.

"What the hell!" Tyrone exclaims as he and Tandy are getting lifted in the air.

"My apologies Tyrone this is just the quickest way to get to where we're going," Magneto says as they all fly off into the night sky.

"Where are we going?" Tandy asks.

"Home," Magneto says calmly.

*******15 mins later

Magneto lands with Tandy and Tyrone still sitting in the park bench after all three of them flew through the sky.

"This where you live?" Tyrone says in a judgemental tone looking at what appeared to be a run-down factory with not a soul inside.

"Don't let its appearance fool you it was designed this way to be inconspicuous," Magneto says walking inside with a wave of his hand a side door opens and all three of them walk inside. What was inside surprised both Tyrone and Tandy it was a metal-lined building that looked almost futuristic with several screens and projectors and lavish-looking living space with potted plants and a kitchen.

"Wow this is amazing do you own this place?" Tandy asks while staring at the impressive interior of the building.

"This is the headquarters and living space of the brotherhood of mutants please sit make yourselves comfortable I'll make us some tea," As Magneto says this his helmet and cape float off his body and fly to some unseen part of the building. Magneto walks to the living space and sits on a big chair as he uses his powers to prepare tea in the kitchen. Tyrone and Tandy still awestruck by the building take a moment before they fully realize what Magneto says to them and take a seat.

"These the newbies?" A new voice says.

"Yes meet Tandy and Tyrone, This is my son Pietro I hope you all get along," Magneto says introducing the silver-haired young man who suddenly appeared in the room. Pietro seems to disappear and reappear right next to the mutant couple studying them.

"They don't look like much," Pietro says with a judgemental tone.

"Neither did we when we joined the brotherhood," A distant feminine voice said.

"And this is my daughter Wanda she the one with manners," Magneto says giving Pietro a quick glare.

"I have plenty of manners," Pietro says in his defense.

"I'm pretty sure everyone you've ever met will disagree with you," Wanda snarks back. "Before we get too off-topic allow me to welcome you two as our father has said I'm Wanda Maximoff and this is my twin brother Pietro Maximoff it's a pleasure to meet you both," Wanda says as she picks up the teapot Magneto started to brew and pour a mug for everyone present. Wanda gives Tandy and Tyrone a welcoming smile as she hands them both their mugs.

"This is good what kind of tea is this," Tandy asks Wanda.

"It's a Lavander fusion tea it's very relaxing," Wanda says as she drinks some herself.

"What can you two do?" Pietro asks still studying the two teenagers.

"Do you actively work to make people uncomfortable or is it natural," Wanda says to Pietro.

"What do you want to sit and talk about tea all day," Pietro says rolling his eyes.

"Forgive my son he sadly inherited his personality from me," Magneto says. "You two have had a long day why don't I show you where you will be staying," Magneto leads the young couple to the bedrooms where they will be spending the night. "If you have any questions feel free to ask me or Wanda and we will happily help with whatever you need. Goodnight." Magneto says as he and Wanda head for their bedrooms. As soon as the two are out of sight Tyrone gives Tandy a look that tells her everything he is thinking.

"You still can't trust them," Tandy says.

"Yeah they seem shady Wanda seems alright but I know Magnet guy and Pietro are up to something," Tyrone says unloading his feelings to his girlfriend.

"Why don't we give this place a chance if we don't like it we can always bail later," Tandy says.

"Fine, but if I see them doing something I'm gone," Tyrone says.

"You would leave without me," Tandy says clearly hurt.

"No no no never Tandy I would never leave you," Tyrone says getting close and holding her in his arms.

"I'm sorry I said that it's just been a long day I think I need some sleep," Tandy says breaking the hug and going into her room.

"I hope she's ok," Tyrone says to himself and walks into his room.

*******The Next Day

"Rise and shine we have a big day planned," Wanda said as she knocked on Tandy and Tyrone's doors. Both Tandy and Tyrone woke up without much fuss considering they both didn't sleep much last night and quickly got dressed and met up with the brotherhood.

"Whose the fresh meat," The Blob says.

"And is the pretty blonde single," Pyro says. Magneto floats down from somewhere in the building and greets everyone.

"Everyone I'd like you to meet our two recruits Tandy and Tyrone," Magneto says gesturing to the young couple. Tyrone is very much on guard and Tandy just stares ahead with a determinate look on her face.

"Well allow me to introduce myself I'm John but everyone here calls me Pyro," Pyro says stepping forward and trying to get close to Tandy.

"Tandy's with me back off John," Tyrone says as he puffs out his chest and stands in between the two giving Pyro the stink eye.

"Ha the newbie just gave you the shutdown," Blob says in his deep voice resonating through the room. Magneto loudly clears his throat.

"Now that everyone has met it's time to begin training," Magneto says

"Training?" Tandy and Tyrone say in unison.

"Yes you two have only scratched the surface of what you can do and if you are to work with us you need to be able to defend yourselves," Magneto states.

The day was spent teaching Tandy and Tyrone how to use their powers offensively. Tandy learned how to harness her light into knives and Tyrone can now Teleport farther distance than before but can't take other people with him Tandy being the only exception.

"Excellent work after one day you two have improved dramatically," Magneto says ending their training.

"You two aren't great but I've seen worse," Pietro says with snark. Wanda just rolls her eyes and gives the young couple words of encouragement as she hugs them both.

"Right now that all the annoying groundwork is out of the way we going to talk about the plan," Pietro says.

"Plan, what plan?" Tyrone questions.

"The plan where we show humans whose really in charge," Pyro says confidently.

"I hate planning why can't we just get to the part where we start cracking heads," The Blob says.

"Because if we go in without a plan well all be arrested or worse," Wanda says like a mother scolding children.

"Is no one gonna explain to the new kids what plan?" Tyrone says getting annoyed. Magneto turns to Tandy and Tyrone and gestures for them to sit down. They comply but Tyrone looks ready to fight if this conversation goes south.

"As you are aware the brotherhood was made to look after and teach young mutants but it's main goal is righting the wrongs of human society by making empowering mutants and holding those against them responsible for their actions," Magneto says removing his helmet making his face clearly visible.

"And the plan is righting these wrings somehow?" Tandy guesses.

"Correct Tandy," Magneto says with a proud smile.

"Ok then what's the plan?" Tyrone says loudly.

"Do you two know who Mark Anders is?" Magneto asks the mutant couple.

"No, I don't think so?" Tandy says trying to place the name.

"He's a senator right?" Tyrone questions.

"He's not a senator but a man running for senate do you know what the cornerstone of his campaign is?" Magneto says with a serious expression.

"Mutants," Tyrone says.

"Yes Mr. Anders campaign is an open discussion of hate speech and oppression he helps invigorate the racist populace to express their hatred of mutants openly all while wearing a nice suit," Magneto says.

"A racist politician what will they think of next," Tyrone says with obvious sarcasm. Pietro laughs at the comment and Magneto continues.

"Our plan is to stop one of his rallies and make a stand for mutantkind," Magneto preaches to the couple.

"Are you planning an assassination?!" Tyrone says with wide eyes.

"Oh, heavens no we just plan on scaring them a bit giving hope to some mutants out their that feel oppressed and hopefully keep Anders out of office," Magneto says waving his hands in calm down gesture.

"So what's the plan," Tandy says clearly interested.

"Tandy their talking about committing a crime possibly a dozen how are you ok with this," Tyrone says practically pleading to his girlfriend.

"Were already criminals or did you forget the angry mob that tried to kill us for being different," Tandy says defending her decision.

'If you two would like some time to think about it we can give you some space o talk," Magneto says getting up and leading the team out the room.

"Awww, I wanted to see them fight maybe get some popcorn," Pietro says while getting dragged away by Wanda.

"You can't be serious about this Tandy I know your hurting I am too but this seems to be all types of shady," Tyrone says trying to speak some sense into Tandy.

"I am serious, I am hurt, I am a mutant. and I'm pissed after what happened to you to me to everyone like us why is hurting a few humans and stopping an obvious racist get into office not a good thing?!" Tandy screams loud enough for the whole building to hear. "Listen Ty I get it looking at it, it sounds insane but it's something I need to do I won't force you to join in so if you want to leave-"

"I won't leave you remember I promised you that if your deadset on doing this. Tyrone sighed. I'll be by your side the entire time," Tyrone says putting his hands on Tandy's cheeks cupping her face.

"Ride or Die," Tandy says softly.

"Ride or Die," Tyrone agrees before the two share a deep kiss.

*******2 weeks later

"Alright the pieces are in place does everyone know their job," Wanda says in her earpiece.

"We've been over it a hundred times even Pyro's not that slow," Pietro says back.

"Do you wanna fight daddy issues," Pyro responded with anger in his voice.

"Enough you two the rally is starting any minute," Magneto says quieting the two bickering like children. Just then Mark Anders walked on stage and gave a hate-filled speech to his audience saying he would impose more strict laws on mutants preventing them from using their powers in public he even went on about rounding up all the mutants and putting them on a list.

"It's funny how people get so upset about registering guns but people a species on a list is no problem," Tyrone says to Tandy.

"See we should stop this guy he's clearly evil," Tandy says back.

"Yeah...maybe," Tyrone says back still unsure.

"Phase on starting now," Wanda says as she uses her powers to aggravate the fault lines underneath the crowd causing a localized earthquake. Next came Pietro who got rid of any of Anders' security. Lastly, Amgneto made a grand display floating before everyone giving a speech about justice and how humans have wronged us. All the members of the brotherhood appeared on stage. Wanda wearing her signature red coat, Pietro in a white and green bodysuit with the fast-forward symbol on his chest, Pyro wearing what looked to be modified flamethrowers to upgrade his abilities, The Blob in just the biggest spandex ever created, and lastly, the two newbies Tandy and Tyrone in opposite colors Tandy wearing white and Tyrone in Black. Tandy wearing a one-piece bodysuit with a cross design over her midsection and chest. While Tyrone wore a black shirt and a similar color pair of pants with a zip-up stripped hoddie. During the Magneto's speech to really hammer some points Pyro made a fire dragon to roam over and scare the crowd. As The brotherhood was making its stand and jet flew into their airspace and several people looked like they jumped out all without a parachute. the new team floated down gracefully like they had practiced a hundred times

"Stop this at once Magneto," Said Cyclops leading his team. "I'm only going to ask you once,"

"Brotherhood prepare to fight," Magneto says unwaveringly at Cyclops' threat.

"I've been waiting for this I owe that bug bastard," Pyro says shooting flames at the new team that just arrived.

"Spider Kitty you two handle crowd control, Storm and Jean stay on Wanda and Magneto their the biggest threats, Wolverine and Hank stay with me we're gonna take on Pietro and the Blob," Cyclops said to his team and they all worked to his commands like a well-oiled machine each doing their own part and covering each other's weakness. Tyrone was scared but Tandy looked determined to fight back but before she could Tyrone grabbed her hand and teleported away. It wasn't very far and they were still in the crowd.

"What are you doing we need to help them?!" Tandy says ripping her hand away from Tyrone.

"No we don't Tandy look at this look what we're doing," Tyrone says gesturing to the people scared and running there was a little girl looking for mom they must have separated during the chaos that they caused.

"Oh my God," Tandy says with tears in her eyes realizing what they've caused.

"You two suck at being Terrorists," Spider-man says swinging down in front of them. "Let me guessed you were scared kids who Magneto offered to help in exchange you had to commit acts of terror and your only just now realizing the mess you're in," Spider-Man says like he was reading their history from a book.

"Yeah...Kind of," Tyrone says not sure how Spider-Man knows them so well.

"Spider I need help over here," Kitty screams trying to get to a large crowd of people about to be crushed by debris. Spider-Man swings over to Kitty scoops her up and manages to get their before the debris and it all falls through them with none of them getting hurt.

"Oh phasing that many people is always tiring," Kitty complains while Spider-Man supports her.

"Hey you two lend us a hand," Spider-Man says and before they could think to stop themselves their running through the crowd grabbing people saving them from debris reuniting children with their parents, pulling people away from the fires that Pyro started. Before they knew it the fight was over Pyro and the Blob had been apprehended by the X-Men but Magneto and his children got away. As Tyrone was thinking to run he heard Spider-man say "Great job you two really showed us what you were made of,"

"What?" Tyrone says with genuine confusion.

"You helped save these people you may have been involved what put them in danger but when the chips are down you proved your true heroes," Spider-Man says with admiration.

"Yeah, Spider-man doesn't give out compliments often so you know your something special,"Kitty says agreeing with her.

"Does this mean your not gonna arrest us," Tandy asks with wide eyes.

"You wanna get arrested," Spider-Man asks.

"Ah, no," Tandy respondes.

"Then no," Spider-Man says.

"What are your names by the way," Kitty asks.

"I go by Cloak," Tyrone answers.

"I'm Dagger," Tandy follows.

"Cool superhero names want to come with us," Spider-Man asks.

"Excuse me Spider but you can't make a decision for the whole team and invite two strangers," Cyclops interjects.

"I like them," Strom says

"They're ok," Jean says

"More teenagers just what we all need," Logan says annoyed.

"Wow looks like you've been outvoted Scot," Kitty says. Scott sighs and looks at the two for a second.

"Fine I'll call the professor I'm sure he would be more than happy with this development," Scott says admitting defeat.

"Wait what is happening," Tyrone asks.

"Cloak and Dagger welcome to the X-Men," Spider-Man says with joy.
