Chapter 17

"Miles?" Prowler looked at his nephew in disbelief.

His own nephew turned out to be Spider-Man?

And not just any Spider-Man, but the one his boss ordered him to eliminate!

"What are you waiting for? Get rid of him!" At that moment, Prowler heard his boss, Kingpin, speaking through his earpiece.

Aaron's face displayed clear hesitation.

This was his beloved nephew!

He himself had no children, not even a girlfriend.

So he had always regarded Miles as his own son.

In fact, part of the reason he became Prowler was to become a "superhero in the eyes of children."

Unfortunately, due to the circumstances of life, he had become a supervillain instead and couldn't fulfill his original path.

Countless thoughts raced through Aaron's mind in an instant.

Finally, he reached out and pulled up his crude polyester mask over the face of Miles.

"Take care of yourself."

Bang! Bang!

Two sounds almost simultaneously resounded.

Prowler, who hadn't even finished speaking, was kicked away by someone.

Mark appeared next to Miles, without much explanation, embraced him, and rolled on the ground.

That kick was obviously delivered by Mark.

However, it wasn't meant to attack Prowler.

In fact, when he saw Miles taking off his mask and recognizing Prowler, Peter knew for sure that Miles would be fine.

But he noticed a huge figure, emerging from below.

The Kingpin.

Fisk took out a high-tech handgun and aimed it at Prowler and Miles.

Mark wasn't sure whom Kingpin intended to kill.

But suddenly, he thought of a peculiar "curse"—it was said that every Spider-Man's journey began with the loss of an uncle.

So, almost instinctively, when he saw Fisk lifting the gun, he propelled himself with maximum force towards them, executing a mid-air kick that sent Prowler flying.

At the same time, to be safe, he brought Miles along for a clumsy rolling maneuver.

Although it wasn't the most graceful move, it had to be said that the effect was remarkable.

The second "bang" was the sound of Fisk's handgun.

Clearly, he missed the shot.

In frustration, Kingpin raised his gun again.

Just then, Noir, who had arrived a few steps late due to being entangled with Doc Ock, finally caught up.

He quickly intervened and disrupted Kingpin's action.

Fisk didn't back down and engaged in a brawl with Spider-Man Noir.

Wilson Fisk's fighting style was fierce, living up to his 90% muscle-filled body.

With a single punch, he could smash a wall and make a pretty impressive rupture on it.

His combat skills were also extremely high.

Noir himself was a skilled fighter, but he still felt a subtle sense of being suppressed against Kingpin.

Of course, perhaps this was also due to the fact that he hadn't fought against someone as "agile and chubby" as Kingpin before, and hadn't yet adapted.

"Uncle!" Miles broke free from Mark's embrace and ran towards Prowler.

However, Prowler had already stood up.

He reached out his hand, seemingly wanting to touch Miles's head, but hesitated and refrained from doing so.

Then he looked at Mark, said nothing, but left with a complex look.

"Hey." Mark called out to him.

Prowler's footsteps hesitated for a moment, but he didn't turn around.

Mark pointed towards the ongoing battle between Noir and Aaron and shouted, "If you just go away like this, you will surely going to be killed by Kingpin. You know what kind of person Kingpin is."

Prowler's body came to a complete stop.

He knew that Mark was right.

"I have to," Prowler said, "It will affect the others if I continue to be near them."

The "others" he referred to were his brother and sister-in-law, the parents of Miles, as well as Miles himself.

"No, you do have a choice." Mark insisted.

Prowler suddenly turned around.

However, his face was masked, making it difficult to discern his true thoughts.

Mark clenched his fist and firmly said, "Join us and take down Kingpin. He will never threaten you again. This is the best opportunity with the seven Spider-Man from different universes together! If you miss this chance, you will be trapped forever. And Miles, as well as your brother, will be living under Kingpin's shadow for the rest of their lives."

Prowler continued to remain silent, evidently deep in thought.

Mark felt like the time was now. So, he decided to stoke the fire even more: "As someone close to Kingpin, you must have seen the impact his collider had on the whole of Brooklyn! And now he wants to activate it again, multiple times, maybe even countless times. If this continues, one day Brooklyn will be destroyed by the collider! Millions of people living in Brooklyn will lose their lives! Is that what you want to see?"

"Did you put on this suit just to become that kind of person?" After saying this, Mark felt a bit uneasy.

He had previously read about the classic antagonists named Prowler, in the Spider-Man games.

Prowler was the youngest of nine siblings, and his father had left them when he was still an infant.

So, they grew up with their alcoholic mother.

Under these circumstances, he obviously couldn't attend school.

However, even without a formal education, he still had many achievements in design and invention.

It's just that due to his identity, qualifications, and various other reasons, no one was willing to listen to him.

He couldn't find an opportunity to showcase his talents.

All he could do was find a job as a window cleaner to make ends meet.

Later, by chance, he got involved in the battle between superheroes and supervillains, witnessing the abilities of a man who was once an ordinary person but became a supervillain with the help of high-tech suit.

So, he quit his job as a window cleaner and designed a versatile battle suit for himself, including wrist and ankle bracelets filled with a special liquid, sharp steel claws, and special boots for climbing.

Afterward, he created his new identity - Prowler.

Of course, this is the background story of the supervillain "Prowler." Just like how Dr. Ock in this world became the known villain, this world's Aaron Davis, clearly has notable differences from the background story version of Prowler.

But different worlds can still have similar personalities.

Just like how the Spider-Men always seem to get along instantly.

So, Mark decided to take a gamble.

Under Mark's somewhat anxious gaze, Prowler nodded.

"You make a good point. I'm in."

Upon hearing this, Mark smiled.

He had made the right bet.
