Chapter 121

Harry Osborn quickly brought the weapons to deal with Venom.

Of course, it wasn't the bombs that Mark had mentioned.

The container holding Venom was sturdy, but it was still a sealed environment. Tossing a hand grenade into it might damage the container.

A damaged container was a minor issue, but if the Venom symbiote managed to escape, it would be a disaster.

So, for safety's sake, they decided to opt for a different approach – using sound waves and fire to kill it.

Fortunately, the initial purpose of this container was to test weapons, and it happened to have weapon ports.

They quickly adjusted the device for their purposes.

When the weapon port opened from above the container, the dormant Venom suddenly leaped upward as if trying to escape from above.

However, when it jumped into the air, it was met with a powerful sound wave pressing down on it.

This was a sound wave device. The smaller versions were handheld sonar guns, while the larger ones were installed on buildings.

Technically, it wasn't even considered a weapon, as these devices were used in buildings such as airports, high-voltage power lines, and power plants to drive away birds.

Now, they had adjusted the frequency to turn it into noise, capable of killing Venom.

The Venom symbiote went from active to withered in less than a second.

It was instantly reduced back to its original state by the sound waves.

Then, flames spewed down.

Soon, under the dual assault of sound waves and fire, the Venom symbiote was completely annihilated, leaving not a speck of ash.

Mark carefully examined the container's condition, and after feeling that the Venom symbiote had died, he continued to fire for over ten minutes before stopping.

"Is it dead?" Dr. Otto Octavius stared intently at the container, took off his sunglasses, and wiped his sweat.

"It should be dead," Mark sensed it with his mental abilities.

After learning the mental meditation techniques of sorcerers from Doctor Strange, Mark had gained some ability to sense things with his mind.

According to Doctor Strange, Mark's innate talent as a sorcerer was quite good. If he even embraced worshipping the Vishanti, he might achieve significant success in sorcery.

But Mark thought to himself, why should he suddenly start worshiping someone else when he could rely on himself?

Therefore, despite the many temptations of Doctor Strange's magic, Mark continued to refuse and chose the path of his own quantum mimicry magic.

Gwen released Mark's hand and breathed a sigh of relief.

The Venom symbiote had emitted eerie and distressing screams in the form of brainwaves before dying, which had genuinely frightened Gwen.

"It's this thing that changed me." Tobey Spider, who had awakened at some point, stood with Harry Osborn. His extraordinary Spider-Man physique had allowed him to recover his breath.

"Peter, are you feeling better?" Harry Osborn supported Tobey and took out a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from his forehead, expressing concern.

"Thank you, Harry, I'm fine," Tobey Spider replied apologetically. "I'm sorry for what I said to you a few days ago."

"It's alright, Peter," Harry Osborn was understanding. "Besides, it wasn't your fault. It was caused by that thing. Now, Mr. Mark has finally eliminated it."

"Thank you, Mark," Tobey Spider said curiously, "When did you arrive? Oh, and who is she?"

Mark teased, "I came here specifically to see you, and you, of all people, didn't notice me right away?"

Tobey Spider lowered his head in guilt.

Mark introduced, "This is my girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, the Spider-Woman."

"Gwen? Spider-Woman? So, you're also..." Tobey Spider was surprised.

Gwen nodded, "It seems there's a Gwen in this world too, right? That's right, I'm also a Spider-Woman."

With that, she shot out a strand of web.

Although this alone couldn't prove anything since most Spider-People used web-shooters, none of them had seen any Spider-People other than the three present. Furthermore, besides Spider-People, it wasn't common for someone to carry web-shooters around.

So, when the web came out, their identities were immediately clear.

"Alright, I suggest you go home and change into some fresh clothes," Mark said, creating a portal leading to Tobey Spider's apartment.

Tobey Spider became even more amazed, "Your abilities are incredible! Can Spider-Man have such powers? Uh, is this some kind of magical sorcery? Are you actually the Sorcerer Spider-Man or Wizard Spider-Man?"

Spider-Tobey's curious and quippy attitude immediately took over.

"Shut up! Haven't you noticed that you also have magic?" Mark gave him a push through the portal.

"Eh? I do?" Tobey Spider stepped through obediently and started rummaging through his wardrobe for clothing, asking at the same time.

"Your motor mouth magic has a pretty amazing destructive power, I'm sure of it," Mark quipped.

"Hahaha!" Harry Osborn and the others paused for a moment, then burst into laughter.

In the following days, Mark stayed in this world, experiencing the different customs and people of this world with Gwen. He also observed Dr. Otto Octavius's research progress.

Additionally, Mark provided Spider-Tobey with some new ideas. For example, he suggested integrating communication devices into his suit, connecting him to the New York City Police Department's internal network, allowing him to receive immediate feedback on criminal activity.

He also advised him to categorize events with different levels of criminal severity based on the degree of threat.

For example, one star represented low-risk events like ordinary street brawls or bicycle thefts, which required very little intervention, often handled by just one or two police officers.

Two stars represented moderate-risk events, usually involving armed robberies with firearms and bladed weapons, demanding the dispatch of more than one police car.

Three stars indicated medium-risk events, typically involving armed gangs carrying heavy firepower.

Four stars, like previous encounters with the Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus, meant threats that normal police forces couldn't handle and required a large deployment of manpower.

Five stars would be similar to the Electro in Andrew's Verse, someone who could pose a threat to an entire city, but they hadn't encountered such a threat on Tobey's Spider's side yet.

Mark's classification had a purpose: to help Tobey Spider understand the importance and urgency of various situations.

For one-star events, he didn't need to respond every time because they were relatively minor issues. While it was important not to ignore small problems, he also had his own life and didn't need to mess it up over trivial matters.

Two-star events could be attended based on his current availability. If he had urgent matters, he could skip them. If he was free and wanted to go out, that would be fine.

Three stars or higher were situations where he truly needed to intervene.

Mark, Dr. Otto Octavius, and Harry Osborn all found this tiered approach reasonable. However, Tobey Spider had some reservations about this grading system.

With the help of Dr. Otto Octavius, Mark stayed in this world for a few days to let Tobey Spider observe and decide if this system made sense.

Tobey Spider quickly realized that it did. Especially with one-star events, they were indeed often minor and frequently resolved by passing patrol officers before he could arrive. This realization was somewhat disheartening and made him question the significance of his usual efforts.

But that wasn't Mark's goal. He simply wanted Tobey Spider to balance the two sides of his life: "Spider-Man" and "Peter Parker."

In reality, these two aspects didn't have to conflict. By managing his time effectively, Tobey Spider could lead a fulfilling personal life, take care of Aunt May, and be there for his loved ones while continuing to be a great superhero.

The alternative, neglecting the people who needed him most, was not the answer. It was time for him to be a responsible boyfriend to Mary Jane and not let her down when she needed him.

To be honest, despite calling Mary Jane names, from her perspective, Tobey Spider wasn't exactly an ideal boyfriend.

When Mary Jane's career was on the rise, she invited everyone to watch her performance, but Tobey Spider didn't attend. When Mary Jane lost her job and needed support, he wasn't there for her.

He even kissed Gwen, who was interviewing him in his Spider-Man identity (in this world, she seems to be a model and a journalist)!

Thinking about it, it made sense for Mary Jane to have conflicts with him. But in reality, Mary Jane didn't oppose his superhero career. Instead, when he needed to go out, she silently kept her grievances to herself. She only needed the care she deserved, which wasn't too much to ask.

So, a few days later, when a gang was robbing a jewelry store with guns, the alarm sounded, and Mark immediately had Tobey Spider take the stage. Tobey Spider successfully apprehended the criminals, bringing peace back to the city.

Afterward, Mark explained the purpose of the event classification system he had introduced to him. Tobey Spider went into deep thought.

While he wasn't far behind Spider-Tom's in abilities, but unlike the latter, who was nurtured and protected, Tobey Spider had to be more independent and mature. He had simply been oblivious to this fact for some time. There was no one in his life who could provide him with advice and consider his needs, except for Mark. Mark was the one who could truly give him this kind of guidance.

After careful consideration, Tobey Spider genuinely thanked Mark, signifying that he had accepted this event classification system. Hopefully, this would lead to a better life for him.

However, the events in this world would no longer concern Mark because he was ready to move on to the next world – the world of the Miles.
