Chapter 66: Battle against Doctor Octopus

"Is this another Spider from a different universe?" 

Inside the extended Lincoln, Kingpin watched Peter's movements, and his face suddenly darkened. 

Tombstone was one of his most capable men, but he didn't expect he would fall when confronted by him.

Doctor Octopus also frowned and examined Peter closely. Because Peter deliberately changed his fighting style from the blond Spider-Man's regular way, acting more aggressive and domineering, neither Doctor Octopus nor Kingpin subconsciously associated him with the blond Spider-Man.

Doctor Octopus hesitated and said, "What we witnessed back then were five parallel universes, which means at least five Spiders from other universes had gotten mixed in. I had seen three at Oxmaks before, and now this one should be one of the remaining two."

"May Parker accepted them?" There was a hint of ferocity in Kingpin's eyes.

Doctor Octopus frowned at him and said seriously, "Although Spider-Man is our enemy, Peter Parker was once my student. Moreover, May Parker poses no threat to us. If you dare harm her, be prepared to become hostile with me!"

"Humph!" Kingpin snorted, though he didn't say it outright, it was obvious he compromised. 

In a sense, he was a villain with principles. He would be cruel to those who opposed him, but he wouldn't involve innocent people. Otherwise, with Spider-Man's death and his unmasking, he would have killed May Parker and Mary Jane long ago.

Besides, he knew now was not the time to turn against Doctor Octopus. He didn't want to kill one Spider-Man only to create another highly intelligent and capable enemy for himself. If Spider-Man wasn't so stubborn, he would have preferred discussing cooperation with him.

What a pity.

"Since you don't want to bring the flames of war to that old lady, just deal with them quickly," Kingpin said. "Has the particle collider started pre-acceleration?" 

Doctor Octopus nodded and took out a hair tie: "One hour for self-check, one hour for preparation. It's expected to officially open in two hours. The quantum channel can open anytime after around 6 PM tonight. At that time, you can reunite with your family again."

"Very good," Kingpin said. "Once I find my family, the particle collider will be yours. I'll continue investing in it. Don't let me down."

"Of course!" After tying up her hair, she took out a pair of glasses and put them on, then walked out of the extended Lincoln, "Watch my performance!"

After she finished speaking, four long fluid mechanical tentacles extended from her back. Two planted into the ground, replacing her feet. In this state, she would move more nimbly and freely. 

The other two were her attack methods.

"Wow, let me see who's here? A big octopus lady! Do you like Krabby Patties?" Peter greeted Doctor Octopus cordially.

"Don't all Spiders talk such nonsense?" Doctor Octopus walked closer, step by step.

"Don't you think I have a great sense of humor? What's the point of life without any humor?" Peter spread his hands.

"Haha!" Doctor Octopus sneered, and the fluid mechanical tentacles behind her suddenly stretched out, stabbing at Peter. As they neared him, the claws on the tentacles rapidly rotated, turning into sharp disc blades, as if to slice Peter's body open.

Peter jumped into the air, dodging the blow. Another of Doctor Octopus's tentacles grabbed at him.

At this moment, Peter shot out a strand of spider silk downwards and used both hands to pull up the still-dazed Tombstone lying on the ground.

"Take this, Tombstone Meteor Strike!" 

The poor Tombstone was spun in the air and struck Doctor Octopus directly.

Doctor Octopus swung one of her fluid mechanical tentacles, whipping Tombstone away.

Let us observe another moment of silence for poor Tombstone.

But at this time, Peter seized the opportunity and used a strand of spider silk to stick to one of her tentacles, struggling to pull her towards him.

Click! Click!

The two tentacles Doctor Octopus used for walking immediately pierced into the concrete floor to stabilize her body. And she reversed the force, pulling Peter towards her instead!

This was Peter's first time against Doctor Octopus. The memory fragments only told him about her, not her full combat power. It seemed the blond Spider-Man himself didn't want to fight her, so his memories were not very vivid.

But he didn't expect Doctor Octopus's fluid mechanical tentacles to be so powerful!

Caught off guard and airborne with no way to leverage his strength, Peter was pulled down directly.

Two tentacles grabbed Peter's hands, one on the left and one on the right, stretching him out into a spread-eagle position.

"Are you also a Peter Parker from another world?" Doctor Octopus looked at Peter with interest. "You seem much weaker than the Peter I know. He wouldn't be caught by me so easily."

"How about we reset and try again, kid?" Peter suggested in a more natural tone.

Doctor Octopus chuckled sarcastically, "No, I don't want to play games with you. I just want to kill you!"

As she said that, she whipped out another tentacle, stabbing at Peter.

"Ah!" Peter struggled hard, trying to break free from the tentacles' grip.

At that moment, a strand of spider silk shot out from the side, sticking to the tentacle aimed at Peter.

It was Miles!

At the critical moment, this guy finally showed his usefulness. 

After all, Miles was also a Spider-Man, so his strength was certainly great enough. Although not fully unleashed yet, subduing one tentacle was no problem.

With Peter and Miles combining their powers, Doctor Octopus lost her focus for a crucial moment.

The combined force of the four mechanical tentacles, through scientific coordination, could reach over 100 tons. But a single tentacle was less than 10 tons.

Miles could handle that one just fine.

As for Peter, even with two tentacles restraining him in the air, he quickly found a way to counter them. 

He kept swaying his body, bringing his hands toward the middle while controlling his center of gravity to push down.

To resist his force, Doctor Octopus had to allocate a lot of energy just to keep controlling him.

But then she wouldn't have time to deal with Miles.

Miles seized the opportunity and exerted a sudden burst of strength.

Doctor Octopus immediately staggered.

Now she was standing on only one mechanical tentacle, her center of gravity already unstable. On top of that, Peter kept swaying.

At this moment, Peter also seized his chance, exerted force, and finally pressed his body to the ground.

Standing on solid ground, his strength instantly had better leverage.

Peter let out a soft shout, then grabbed the two restraining tentacles and flung Doctor Octopus away!
