Sinister Surprise Part 1

Powered flowed off Rogue's body as she slowly started to lift into the air, the slight glint in her eyes all Jean needed to see to know she was about to go in and lay down some pain. But Jean had to stop her for a second, her brows frowning in concentration powers scanning the area but… something was wrong.

"Wait, something isn't right, I've been trying to get a read on the two, and something seems to be interfering with my telepathy." She winced as something seemed to push back against her powers, giving her a headache in the process of trying to scout the area. One of her hands raised to press against her temple to try and focus her mind, like she had been taught, but still something pushed back and disrupted her. It was almost like the frequency Peter had discovered when they were younger to disrupt her powers… was it the electricity Electro was giving off?

Rouge could only roll her eyes to the side as she looked at Jean and her furrowed brows. "What do we have to fear from these two? We've seen enough of their battles with Spider-man online; I'll quickly give Shocker a love tap he won't forget to knock him out while you shut down Electro, from what I know he isn't resistant to your mind games.

Jean frowned at Rogues cavalier attitude, but also had to agree, there were so many YouTube videos of Spider-man fighting these two, everyone knew all their tricks, but still she felt something was wrong, she just couldn't place her finger on what it was.

Before she could say anything else Rogue shot off heading towards Shocker. *Sigh* Shaking her head in frustration Jean swelled her powers and leapt off the edge of the balcony, latching onto the railing behind her to slow her fall.

Shocker let out another laugh as he smashed his new gauntlets into the ground destroying the front of a small shop; Electro to the side was no better as he let loose a blast of pure electricity towards one of the tables in the middle of the food court.

Looking at the destruction before him, shocker smirked in satisfaction before turning to his partner. "I will admit when they gave us the deal I was a bit skeptical." *bang* *Crash* "But I have to admit this new gear they gave us is top notch! Haha" Shocker laughed again as he destroyed another set of stores. So far luckily no one was inside the ones he had destroyed, but it was only a matter of time.

Though he didn't really care about that at all, he was waiting, waiting for the spider to arrive. The same couldn't really be said for Electro, the smile on his face hadn't disappeared since he started destroying the mall, the screams of the people fleeing only egging him on. Hearing his partners words the electricity died down for a second as he took a short break and spoke back.

"I was the same, never liked those shady organizations or people, was sure they were going to stiff me or maybe lock me someplace and throw away the key, but…" Electricity flowed back into motion, sparking between and around the harness that amplified and directed his power to become more destructive. "…I haven't felt this good in years! Hahaha! I don't care what they want me to do now, as long as we squash the bug and they keep supplying us I'm all in!"

The power continued to swell in his hand as he got ready to let loose another blast of power. Before he could though a new whistling sound appeared from above getting louder every second, there was no hesitation on his part as he looked up ready for an opponent. Say what you will about the villain taken down time and time again, after fighting Spider-man for so long his reflexes were trained and ready.

A grin split onto his distorted face as he prepared to face their target, which quickly turned into a frown as he noticed that this new player was definitely not wearing red and blue spandex and they were definitely not swinging from a web towards them. No they were flying at high speed towards shocker.

Electro just made out the fact that they were a 'she' as they zoomed by and threw a hay maker at Shockers turned back. *Crack* With a sickening thwack of power, Shockers body was thrown from the blow into the nearest store as Electro turned to look at the super heroine.

"Well what do we have here?"

Rogue had a satisfied smile on her lips as she turned away from the downed shocker, that was a lot easy than she thought it would be, though she did worry slightly about the hard crack she heard as she sent his body flying, having faced a lot of stronger opponents in her time with the x-men, she had slightly miscalculated how much strength she had put into the blow.

Turning back to Electro who looked ready to fight, she couldn't help but feel confident, all they needed was for Jean to knock him out and they were done, no problem. Well that was her thinking until a metal gauntlet slammed into her face, catapulting her body into the small boutique store she was standing next to.
