"You've been so stubborn, and it's not acceptable. You need to be punished, the hard way or the soft way. I would prefer the hard way, but your opinion matters too... which way would you prefer, Kim?" Xavier said, approaching her with an intense gaze. "Punished? You won't lay a hand on me, not today or ever!" Kim retorted, backing away until her back hit the kitchen counter. Xavier closed the gap between them. "Is that so?" he asked with a smirk, his eyes fixated on her lips. "But I see something different now, Kimberly." With that, he took hold of her waist, claimed her lips, and sent tingles coursing through her entire being. _____________ Two rules she was told to follow by all means. -Always shut your doors and windows tightly -Never cross parts with Xavier Stefano . Hate.Love.

"I'm sorry if I'm bothering you," that voice. "I decided to show you where the restroom is, not the other way around." My voice came out so low. "You didn't tie a rope to my neck to drag me here"

again, my vampire and lycan side wanted to be set free. "Thank you."

Why did I have to be blessed with a mate? My insides ache for her already. I clench my fist to resist grabbing her. It feels like a punishment, not a reward.

As we reached the restroom, I turned around abruptly, causing her to bump into me. I couldn't resist and took a deep sniff. Fuck!

"Be careful," I uttered with a deep voice.

"Sorry," my insides clenched, feeling my beast yearning to take control. My fangs extended.

"Are you okay?" she asked timidly. I could sense her fear in the air.

I had two choices: embrace her as my mate or reject her.

The thought of her feeling pain angered the beasts inside me. My vampire side briefly took over as I gently brushed away the stray curls from her face.

"Do you always apologize for small things?"

"N-no," I noticed I still had my hands in her hair, realizing my mistake. I quickly withdrew my hand and forced a tight smile. She had the most beautiful eyes, staring right into mine.

"It was nicemeeting you snooper."As I turned to leave, I heard her softly whisper,

"Kimberly" thanks to my heightened senses. I paused and faced her again.

"Nice meeting you, Kim," her name sounded so sweet on my lips. "Try not to eavesdrop on conversations, you might not like what you hear," I growled.

How could I hate her? She was like an angel. But at the same time, I wished she didn't exist, so I wouldn't have to meet her.

One thing was certain, though. I would keep my distance.

  KIMBERLY ANDERSON'S POV

I should've just headed straight to the bathroom, damn it.

What's his deal? Does he have some kind of eye condition or something?

I couldn't help but stare at myself in the mirror, imagining how his touch would feel on my hair and face.

If only I had the privilege. I'd run my hands through his. His hair looked so soft.

Lost in my thoughts, I kept staring at myself in the mirror, wondering how I ended up in this situation.

"I'm sorry  if I'm bothering you," I muttered, questioning why he even offered to show me the way to the bathroom. Is he planning to kidnap me or something? Why did I even apologize to him? He didn't deserve it, especially after threatening the other guy.

"I decided to show you where the restroom is it's not the other way round," Is the same cold Xavier from that room? Why is he being so nice?

""You didn't tie a rope to my neck to drag me here"

arrogant bastard.

I wish I could have. He would be completely at my mercy.

"Thanks," I managed to say, while mentally recalling all the safety moves I've learned for emergencies.

Ha! Could I even take on someone like him? He's so big. I'd probably look like a joke trying to fight him. Why did I even try to listen in on his conversation? I should've just sat at the restaurant table, enjoying some lasagna with my mom.

But you'd be talking about him with mom

Yep! I don't want that either. Jim broke me. The idea of him and that bitchy Elena.

How could my boyfriend and my best friend do that to me?

Ouch! When did I hit the end of the wall?

"Be careful," he warned.

"Sorry..." Oh, Kimberly! What's wrong with me? I took a deep breath, trying to catch my breath, but instead, I ended up inhaling his captivating woodsy scent. He looks so good now, and he smells amazing too?!

I looked up at him and noticed his teeth! They were so perfect

Oh my, his teeth are so perfect! They could almost be mistaken for fangs from a distance. He's incredibly handsome, like a perfectly crafted, arrogant man.

"Are you alright?" I asked, catching my breath. He startled me. His beauty is intimidating. The way he gazes at me also fills me with fear. But what scares me the most is not knowing what he's capable of.

He seemed to be in pain. Maybe he didn't appreciate someone accidentally bumping into him? He probably thinks I'm so clumsy... Then, he unexpectedly reached out his hand towards my face. For a moment, I thought he was going to hit me, but instead, he gently brushed away my stray baby curls. And his eyes... they had this strange, red color. He-

"Do you always apologize for the minor things?" I don't Xavier

"N-no" then all of a sudden his hands were gone from my face, the warmth gone. His eyes were on mine. Oh my days! He had this rugged beautiful smile..

"It was nice meeting you, snooper," he said as he walked away from me. I looked up and realized I was facing the bathroom door.

Kimberly.

"Nice meeting you kim" how did h- "Try not to eavesdrop on conversations, you might not like what you hear,"He said obviously warning me with his deep seductive voice. Jesus what am I doing thinking of his arrogant voice.

As he walked away, his tense energy lingered in the air.

Now, I'm reflecting on how his touch felt like a million...

"Honey, are you alright?" Mom asked, opening the restroom door.

"Yeah, I was just about to come out," I replied.

"Are you sure? I'm sorry if our conversation about Jim made you uncomfortable. I just wanted to check if you're adjusting to the new environment okay," she apologized.

"I'm fine, Mom. I just needed some fresh air."

"I'm really sorry. I feel like I ruined dinner."

"No, you didn't. Let's go back and eat, alright?"

"Okay. We can order again. Your meal has been sitting out for a while."

"Oh."

"Yeah."
