Chapter 27: UNSC Earth Division

After a few days the Infinity returned to its orbit around MARS, the SPARTAN procedures on Bucky, Steve, Natasha, Yelena and Taskmaster were a success.

Bucky was given an upgraded bionic arm which housed his Mjolnir armor, Steve and Taskmaster were given a new shield which incorporated nanotech which gave them absolute control over the shield, even mid flight after being thrown, as long as they were wearing their suits.

Natasha and Yelena had received an infiltration specialized suit, it had upgraded weapons that matched what they were used to using as Widows.

They were still in recovery from the surgeries and would be back in action within the two week estimated recovery time.

On Earth the new Director of UNSC Earth Division, Nick Fury swept up all HYDRA agents not only within SHIELD but also within the American government, followed by many other politicians of other countries as well.

By the time HYDRA had realised what was happening it was too late, Fury showed the UNSC soldiers just how dangerous a man he was. Fury was the Ultimate Spy General, he didn't just know how to infiltrate anywhere, he could make plans within plans, he could manipulate his enemies due to knowing how they think and act, and that was before he became a UNSC Super Soldier.

Now, his left eye had recovered, he no longer required the eye patch, however Fury chose to keep it. He swapped it for an advanced UNSC prototype that gave him various abilities, like his own HUD that could assist with target tracking, universal translator, and guidance and communication systems.

Fury, through his actions at coordinating the attacks on HYDRA, his determination on the battlefield, since he was on the front lines himself along with them, his treatment of not only his men under him but of civilians who had been captured and experimented on, or forced into research or labor, had won Fury the respect amongst the soldiers.

Not only did this gain Fury respect but in turn it gained even more respect from the crew of the Infinity towards Adam, they felt that Adam knew who to put where. Much like with Peggy Carter who was an outsider and an unknown to the crew, Fury was the same, yet he too was put in a high level position. Much like when Peggy was put into place, many didn't like Fury being put in front of others, they felt more deserving since they had more time with the UNSC.

Adam expected this, it was human to feel this way, no matter what company or industry, but to alleviate this each time he did what he knew would bring them together. Much like what he did with Peggy, as soon as Fury was officially given his position within the UNSC he was immediately sent into action. He gave both Peggy and Fury the chance to prove his appointment of them the right one.

Although Peggy's successes and proof of her hard work and dedication made it easier to accept Fury than it was Peggy, Fury still needed to prove himself thru action. Fury did just that.

Each high profile arrest, and if they resisted the occasional death, was backed by definitive evidence of their involvement with HYDRA. Although the world had almost forgotten about HYDRA, there were still many alive that had lived through and during the era of World War 2.

They knew the horrors of HYDRA because they either lived through it themselves or had heard all the news stories and reports that were released during and after the war. They knew Captain America was after HYDRA not Hitler because HYDRA was much more dangerous, so with the evidence provided, many called for their immediate execution. No trial needed or wanted, since the evidence was conclusive and the taxpayers didn't want to pay for their trials.

Although the UNSC was not one to shy away from executions without trials, those were done in the shadows away from any light, not public executions, even if they were traitors, they still did receive a trial. The UNSC, although it is militaristic, was still at its roots based on a democratic and legislative society.

Laws are what separate a civilized society from an uncivilized one, so Fury, being a devout believer in democracy used his authority to have the trials under UNSC planetary law.

Fury had chosen Phil Coulson as the official UNSC Spokesperson, he would concentrate on Public Relations as well as recruitment. He would be the face of UNSC on Earth, while Fury worked in the shadows.

Maria Hill became the official UNSC Earth Division Head of Logistics and Communications, she would coordinate resource allocation and storage, since storing materials on a ship limits you greatly. The only reason Infinity hasn't had an issue was because after refining the metals Infinity didn't store it, it was immediately used.

Once the processing space station is completed it would greatly increase production of raw material exponentially, since the Infinity wasn't a mining vessel primarily, but it had the capabilities since it would need it to do repairs in any situation. So the Infinity was limited on processing the mined materials.

Now they would be storing excess material on Earth rather than on the Infinity, Maria would also handle Communication between Earth and UNSC bases and allocate food to the various bases and outposts that will be set up.

Tony Stark became UNSC Earth Division Chief Engineer and Treasurer, he handled the sale of materials and distribution of new technology to slowly catch the world up to technological speed. It would be like going back in time and handing Abraham Lincoln a smartphone and saying 'call me later bye.' It would end up as a paper weight at the very best.

So Tony would use Stark Industries to purchase the processed materials mined from space and slowly introduce advanced technologies worldwide, this would then increase revenue to fund resources needed to run the UNSC Earth Division properties and interests on the planet.

Carol had received a separate offer from the others, rather than join Earth Division, she was offered a position as UNSC Patrol Division Chief. A position that would have her continue to do as she had been, however now she had the backing of UNSC technology.

She would be granted a small fleet made up of a Cruiser, Destroyer and two frigates as well as receiving her own chosen ship to use to do personal missions. Carol didn't hesitate to accept and was provided a new communication system as well as a new suit.

She would return once her ship was completed, she had chosen the UNSC Gladius as her flagship for her division. It was a good choice, the Gladius was a Gladius-class heavy corvette, it was a small slipspace capable warship. It would be reinforced with the new plating that combined Titanium-A3 and Vibranium, it would also have an extensive sensor suite which would allow her to easily detect and track targets, she would also be able to monitor for any anomalous energy sources.

None of the current spaceships have been retrofitted to utilize the jump points used by the various intergalactic civilizations across the galaxy. So until her ship was built she needed to continue to use the ship she has been using. She would be granted the first fleet created by Adam's UNSC.

After the takedown of HYDRA, which as predicted by Adam, also led to SHIELD crumbling completely, although it was due in part thanks to the Head of SHIELD was in fact also a Head of HYDRA, it was mostly due to the streamed battle in New York. Also most evidence they recovered all had SHIELD involvement. They were clearly using SHIELD resources and funding to strengthen HYDRA, Fury made sure even all of his own underhanded misappropriations of funding fell under the blame of HYDRA.

Using the unstable environment of political unrest worldwide, from major political leaders being arrested as HYDRA agents, Phil Coulson had launched himself forward and announced the UNSC, its goals and purpose. Phil used UNSC personnel to calm civil unrest in every country. This gave the various governments time to recover and begin to fix the issues the previous officials had purposely sabotaged.

Phil facilitated assistance where needed and used production teams to release promotional campaigns of a global organization that is willing to be the military of the world. They favor no one country and will concentrate on what were bigger issues. The UNSC didn't require the governments to give up their power on Earth and would in fact defend each government from threats from space as well as advising on political issues. They would remain neutral, but they were also the power that kept each nation in check.

This was rather simple since many world officials already knew of Fury, Phil Coulson and Maria Hill so when they retired from active duty and then showed up under the banner of the UNSC it allowed for an easier time smoothing out the political leaders and presidential concerns.

Although the United States and other governments didn't like the idea of a separate, highly advanced organization just show up, like intergalactic space pirates taking over a planet that had only been able to go to their own moon and back a few times and collecting a tax for protection.

But what could they honestly do? Resist? Not if they valued their lives, it was impossible to have as much definitive evidence of high level politicians and leaders, who had access to anti-spy technology, without having access to your own tech.

Most politicians have made a mistake or done something they shouldn't have, so if they didn't play ball, couldn't the same technology be used to end political careers as well? Bringing things to light that were long buried on the sides of their road to gaining more political power and rising in station.

Phil was able to come to an agreement with most countries, Russia, China, North Korea and Latveria refused while America and her allies joined, Wakanda was still isolated so would be handled separately. Unlike other countries, Wakanda could fight back pretty well.

Although in the end, if Infinity bore her fangs and brought her full might, Wakanda would become ruins. But that wasn't what Adam wanted, he had given Phil a list of people to recruit and Shuri was amongst the names on that list.

Hope Van Dyne, Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Frank Castle, Peter Parker, Matt Murdock, Danny Rand and Shen Chi were all on the list of people Adam gave for Phil to recruit. He knew they were all part of the MCU. Although some weren't heroes yet, since many were still young or not received their powers yet, Adam would be prepared.

He also gave a secondary list to Phil, people who are questionably and possibly in the MCU, people such as the X-Men and Hellfire Club. Mutants in general. Although Adam had tried using his sensors to locate them he was unsuccessful, but that didn't mean they didn't exist.

It was thought that Xavier and X-Men events were all happening in the MCU, but Xavier uses his powers backed by Cerebro to clear the minds of humans on the planet of the knowledge of themselves, of mutants.

Although Charles Xavier's powers can't affect technology, his powers work on the astral plane as well, so using a psychic shield it can manipulate the ones reading the sensors to subconsciously forget they did see a mansion on the satellite image thus not recording it.

In the Marvel universe many powers, especially ones from mutants, were very overpowered. Storm, Iceman, Jean Grey, Magneto and Professor X were all Omega level mutants that could wreak havoc on a world all by themselves, there were others as well, the main reason Adam felt the mutants were around was die to the Maximoff twins. They were Magneto children.

So he had Phil keep his eyes out for many other characters such as Robert Reynolds, the junkie who became the Sentry; a mentally unstable, sometimes hero, sometimes villain, with enough power to destroy the Earth a million times over.

Fury, behind the scenes contacted Talos and arranged a meeting with Adam to discuss terms, Adam could give them exactly what they wanted and better. They wanted citizenship on Earth so that they could have a home, they would still need to share the planet. Hiding amongst the humans, not able to be themselves.

Adam could give them a new planet, whether by building habitat domes on uninhabitable planets, or by finding a planet that was habitable, although it would take longer to find a habitable planet, Adam would offer Mars to be used temporarily.

Adam already planned to build a bio-dome on Mars to begin crop production and various industries. The Skrull could walk freely, showing their true selves without prejudice. While there, they would run the facilities and grow crops, manage livestock as well as production.

Once the meeting was set Fury sent over notification of the date and time, in one month the council of Skrull will convene a meeting, to which they will hear Adam out.
