The Speaking Pork Trotter
Will just slip in here and say that this is currently one of the most popular novels in China at the moment. It is famous mostly for its great lines (We have a lot of classical sayings in Chinese, and this novel tweaks them a bit to create a humorous twist to the story). Hard to tell how those jokes will turn out in English, but if it could be delivered well, I'm sure it will be an enjoyable read. Some background: Spiritual energy is gradually returning back to the world, and supernatural ability users are gradually awakening within the populace. Our MC, Lu Shu, comes from an orphanage, and he has a younger sister, which is actually a non-blood related younger child from the same orphanage who is very close to him. As the orphanage isn't really a kind place to them, the two children left the orphanage to survive in the world through their own means. By the time the story starts, life was hard, but they were still getting by with their own strength. Shortly after the story starts, the MC awakens to a system where he can trade the "hostility" of others into points where he could trade for stuff required for cultivation. However, the hostility must be directed toward him, thus beginning the days where our MC finds all ways to piss off others to win their hostility.
Another level system novel, this one has poor writing style. MC has a system that relies on negative emotions for upgrade (kind of similar to "God Level Demon"), but the story development falls far short of expectations. MC has average intelligence (not very clever, but not too stupid either). It does not help that there are too many extraneous descriptions that do nothing to advance the plot (feels like the author is adding on conversations/ descriptions just to meet the word count requirements). Not highly recommended (try God Level Demon if you are looking for similar game systems- a far better read).
I don't have high hopes from the translations. 大王饶命 why would someone translate it as "Great Lord" instead of "Great King" or "Majesty"? Plus the original synopsis use "spiritual energy" and not "magical energy". Chinesse novels usually use dharma character followed by qi character for magical energy. Plus the originality of the novel lies in the subtle jokes. So I am skeptical. The translators have a bad habit of using pinyin for cultivation realms or locations as I have seen in Immortal Mortal. They made a lot of mistakes and diverted from author's original intent. So yeah all the best to readers. Btw this novel is #1 in China. It's a good read. I like the humor in it.
Don't pick this up. This great book has been ruined by a crappy translator. It's not worth the distress. The translator disappears for weeks at a time, never communicates with the fan base, and just recently skipped 5 chapters. I've held on for a long time, hoping the translator will get better, but I'm finally dropping it for good.
I only give this novel 1 star not because it is bad by any means but because this new translator is possibly the worst translator i have ever seen on this site and obviously just doesn't care about this novel and it shows. They completely disregard all the comments here that they have skipped chapters and they just continue releasing chapters without fixing the problem.
The story is great, and the original translator for the first couple hundred chapters was good, but there seems to be a new translator who just doesn't give a crap about the story or the readers, quality has to drop drastically as have release rates. I'm going to drop this story until they figure this out, and either apologize or just get a new translator entirely.

Honestly quite an entertaining novel, but it's completely ruined by the fact that the TL has absolutely no communication with the reader base and has no idea how to actually upload chapters in order (or even the right chapters in some cases). This is a great example of a fun novel being ruined by a completely oblivious TL (assuming the TL is even a real person). I've scored down the Story development due to the wrong chapters being uploaded all the time and completely ruining the story's continuity.
Look, the story itself is amazing and funny. The story itself is an amazing read. HOWEVER, the translator sucks. He disappears for weeks at a time leaving you hanging with no reasoning behind it. He doesn't communicate with the readers or even give an excuse for why he disappeared. So I recommend this story, but don't expect much from this translator.
