Entering the Dragon's den

We had been in the carriage for quite some time now I'd fallen asleep when suddenly the carriage stopped waking me up

"Hey, you're finally awake." Teacher said as I got up, for some reason what he said felt somewhat familiar to me, I brushed it off.

"Are we there?" I questioned.

"Yup, Dragon's den." Teacher answered

I jumped up in surprise and shouted "Dragon's den!? The biggest and most dangerous mountain on the continent!?"

Teacher said with a smile "where else would I train Johnathan's son?"

I couldn't believe what he said, even C-rank adventurers don't come here because of how dangerous it is and now he wants to bring a fourteen-year-old who has never even held a sword here? I had to ask him

"how many screws are you missing in your head?"

Teacher laughed "only a few" I just stared at him as he started to walk to the mountain, he turned around "come on we don't have all day." I started to follow after him all I could think was this is going to be a difficult time for me.

As we were walking up a trail Teacher suddenly stopped and said "this looks like a good place to make camp, no?" I just nodded because I was too nervous to say anything thinking it might attract a monster, Teacher looked at me with a frown, he slapped my back "loosen up if there are any monsters they won't be able to get past me." He said while showing off his muscles,

What he said did calm me down if my mother let him take me here he must be strong, then I thought of something "Teacher, what adventure rank are you?"

"hm me? Well, I'm a B++ rank" Teacher said nonchalantly, I knew little about adventurer ranks but I did know B++ was quite high so I was surprised,

"what rank were my parents' ranks?" I asked with a glint in my eye,

"Hmm, well, your mother was a B+ healer and your father was an A-rank"

"A-rank!?"

"yup. There my tent is done," Teacher said while looking at a fully made tent "right--wait. Your tent?" I asked

"yes, you will not get a tent. You can make one," he said while entering his tent, it had become night, all I could think was 'oh no'

As the night progressed I tried to find a comfortable place to sleep anywhere I could, the ground, up a tree, then I finally found a nice place under a tree where the roots were uprooted, it was damp and dirt fell on top of me but after a while, I finally fell asleep.

I was woken up by Teacher early in the morning but I couldn't figure out how early because the trees blocked most of the sky.

"Come on, wake up you're going to get your breakfast, it's time to test your mettle,"
