Chapter Thirteen

Peggy and Lexie walked down into the clinic talking about the game they were having that night. Peggy was the mastermind behind the parties they've been having, seeing as the way she grew up they figured she'd be the best to plan it. They were right because now all of the interns can't stop talking about the last party.

Walking up to George and Izzie, the brainiac smiled at the man, "Hey! So we're all set for tonight."

Izzie jumps into the conversation smiling, "Tonight? What's tonight?"

Peggy looks back sharing a look with the other interns while Lexie winces, "Oh! Uh, the interns, we're ... we're just having a little darts tournament thing at joe's."

"Oh, my god. I love darts." The blonde exclaims in excitement.

George fake smiles at his girlfriend, "Oh, do you wanna ... do you wanna come?"

She nods, "Yeah, absolutely. Yay."

The three interns walk away, "Ya so coded."

George huffs while Peggy glared at him, "You do realize you're going to uninvite her right?"

"Yeah," He winces as they walk out of the clinic.

Peggy was walking down the hallway charting when she is stopped by someone, looking up she finds the woman she's been seeing Alex with. Tensing up looking at her she doesn't know what to do, this was the woman that has been making Alex happy. How is she supposed to talk to this woman, "I am so sorry! I need to start watching where I'm going."

The woman laughs slightly, "It's fine! Your Peggy aren't you?"

"Yeah, how do you know that?" Peggy asks her confused.

The woman sighs, "Alex told me who you were! Told me all about you two sleeping together." Peggy tenses up as she watches the woman's demeanour change, "I actually came over here to tell you something."

Peggy laughs, "And what would that be?"

"That me and Alex are having a baby! So you two have to stop sleeping together." The woman glares at her.

She freezes in shock, Alex was having a baby. The guy she's been sleeping with for the past few months was having a baby. He conceived a baby with a woman at the same time the two were sleeping together. Snapping out of her shock she starts stuttering, "Y-You two are having a baby?"

"Yeah," She smiles at the doctor. "And we're so happy about it, I just wanted to make sure you knew about it. When he told me about how you two were seeing each other I was a bit jealous. Then when I learned you were just something to play with I relaxed, I just figured I'd talk to you woman to woman."

Staring at the woman in disbelief Peggy scoffs, "Well thanks for informing me. Woman to woman." She says sarcastically before walking away from her on a mission to find Alex.

Rushing around the hospital she finds him talking to Bailey and another woman, not basing able to handle her anger she walks up to him and slaps him across the face. The two other women gasp while he holds his check staring at her in disbelief, "Peggy what the hell! Why did you slap me!"

Feeling tears filling her eyes she glares at him, "You're a piece of shit Alex!"

Bailey moves forward and pulls her away from him, "What happened? Why did you just slap him?"

"Your girlfriend just stopped me in the hallway, told me all about how you told her that I was just some play toy to you. Though before that she made sure to inform me all about the baby the two of you were having!" The tears fall from her eyes as she watches his face drop while the two women stare at them in disbelief. "I know that we aren't dating and that we've made it clear that there are no feelings between us. But I thought I meant more to you than just something to screw when you're bored."

Bailey wraps her arm around the girl, "Dr Gallagher why don't we take a walk." She walks her down and out of the hall as she tries to control her tears, "Gallagher! You can not go around slapping residents, that is a one-way ticket to getting kicked out of this program."

Pulling herself together she nods, "I know. It just," She stops to swallow, "How could he say that about me?"

"I don't know if you know this, but Alex Karev is an ass," Bailey tries to talk to her but Peggy interrupts.

Shaking her head she stops the woman, "I know what you're going to say." Wiping her face she scoffs, "Your gonna say that Alex is an ass and that I should have known he would hurt me in the end but you're wrong. I see Alex as the first man to ever give a shit about me after having sex, he's the first man to make sure I'm okay after. He cleans me up, he holds me afterwards, washes my hair, tells me about his day, hell some days he doesn't even want sex." She looks up at Bailey with a sad smile, "All he wants to do is lay down together and rant about what a bad day he had."

"Wow, I didn't know Karev had it in him to do all of that," Bailey stares at her shocked.

She nods, "Me neither. But one day all he wanted was someone to hold him as he talked and I did that for him." Seeing the look on her face she shakes her head, "I know what you're thinking but it's not like that. There no romantic feelings there, he's one of my best friends and that's all I want from him. I'm only upset right now because I thought I meant more to him. That all of those nights meant more to him than just a play date, that we were friends."

Bailey sighs not knowing what to say, "I wish I knew what could help you at this moment."

"Me too."
