3 Spirit Awakening and Training

Narrator/3rd Person POV:

For every young aspiring soul master, there is a single day that decides their fate. That day is the day of the Spirit Awakening Ceremony. It is a day when all of the 6-year-old children go to get their spirit awakened. Everyone has a spirit, whether it be a simple tool or a divine dragon. However, only a certain amount of people have spirit power.

Spirit power is the energy used to cultivate spirits, allowing them to grow in strength and soar to greater heights. When a person first awakens their spirit, they will already have a spirit power cultivation ranging from 0 to 10. While zero means that they can't cultivate, 10 means that they have Innate Full Spirit Power. This phenomenon is usually found in wielders of dual spirits and indicates that the person with Innate Full Spirit Power has lots of talent. The cumulative effect of all of these events all come together to make the day of the spirit awakening the most important day in the lives of most people. It seems kinda fucked up that one day can decide a person's whole life, but life is just shitty like that.

Why am I rambling about all of this spirit power bullshit, you ask? Well, of course, it's because today is the day of the Spirit Awakening Ceremony for Xie Xie. The very same Xie Xie who is currently meditating on his bed, seemingly unperturbed about the upcoming event. While on the outside he seemed to be simply meditating, inside his mindscape, it was completely different.

3rd Person POV:

"Ow! Son of a goatfucker!" A cry of pain escaped from Xie Xie's mouth, as he was once again knocked onto the floor. He had been training his Observation Haki in the Training Room while waiting for the Spirit Awakening Ceremony, but he had yet to make any progress. While there may not have been anyone to help him train by trying to hit him while he was blindfolded, he was able to use an automated machine to achieve the same effects he would have with another person helping him train. The machine was designed to hit someone in irregular patterns, ramping up the speed and power each time, making the swings harder to avoid.

Sadly, while Xie Xie had been training for quite a few hours, he had not been able to awaken his Observation Haki. However, that does not mean that the training did not come without its benefits. While he had not awakened Observation Haki, Xie Xie's senses were heightened through the constant training, allowing him to dodge 2 swings in a row on average before getting hit. However, after his 3000th failure at awakening his Observation Haki, Xie Xie decided to try one more time before leaving to prepare for the Spirit Awakening Ceremony.

"Swish," "Swish," The sounds of an attack missing its target sounded out through the air twice. From this point on, it became harder to avoid the machine's swings. As it missed its target once again, it gained even more momentum and power. At this point, Xie Xie was sweating buckets. Avoiding the swing three times in a row was extremely rare for him at this point in time, and he didn't want to break his streak.

As the stick the machine was holding blurred towards him once more, he suddenly was able to clearly sense something coming towards him from the back. It was as if he was able to see all of his surroundings, even with the blindfold on. He avoided it easily, before realizing what happened, causing him to rip off his blindfold and shout in joy. Satisfied due to his awakening of Observation Haki, Xie Xie decided to end the training session for the day. He rushed towards the exit of his mindscape, finally waking up from his deep meditation.

Stretching, he groggily got up from his bed to start his morning routine. Quickly dressing himself up, he began to slowly walk to the dining room for breakfast before spotting the calendar. He bolted out of his room, speedily running across his enormous mansion to his father's bedroom. "Dad! Dad! Let's go already! I wanna get there early!" the 6-year-old child begged. Of course. while he would have usually said something much more vulgar, a combination of fear of his father reprimanding him and excitement for the upcoming event caused him to restrain himself.

His father, Xie Xiao, looked up to him, startled, before responding. "Go where? Do we have anything scheduled today?" he asked.

His son looked at him with clear disappointment and disdain, before reminding him. "We have to go to the Spirit Pagoda! Don't you remember? It's the day of the Spirit Awakening Ceremony!" Xie Xiao looked at him in realization, before leaving with his son to drive over to the Spirit Pagoda. He quickly barked out orders to a few of the servants, and in the span of a few minutes, a driver pulled up in a luxurious limousine to drive them to the Spirit Pagoda. As they sat in the car, both father and son engaged in small talk, hoping to make up for the bonding time they lost.

After a few minutes of driving, Xie Xie and Xie Xiao arrived at the Spirit Pagoda. They sped through registration before Xie Xie was finally allowed to enter the Spirit Awakening Room. Inside was a grand chamber, with many elaborate engravings adorning the walls and roof. In the middle was a small elevated platform, along with a very shady and pedophilic looking man standing behind it.

"Hello, child! You're here to get your spirit awakened, aren't you~? Well step right up to the platform, I'll help you awaken it~!" the man announced.

"Ugh. Just get right on with the awakening you creepy fuck," Xie Xie replied. Any trace of the respectful and happy-go-lucky demeanor he had with his father had vanished, replaced with mild disgust, impatience, and wariness.

"Oh~~! That's a bad word you know~. But if that's what you really want, then I'll comply with your demands," the (potentially) pedophilic individual responded. The man released his spirit power, causing a comforting and warm sensation to surround Xie Xie's body. As the spirit power circulated, he felt an itch in both his hands. Focusing on that itch, two daggers, as well as their information popped up in his head. A golden dagger, producing a faint dragon's growl. A purple hilt, with an invisible blade. These were the Light Dragon and the Shadow Dragon daggers.

"Oho~~~ it seems you've awakened twin spirits. How rare~!" not-so-generic Spirit Awakening man said. Xie Xie didn't even bother with a retort in favor of staring at his daggers with a dumb smile on his face. After a few minutes of being a dumbass, he demanded the man across from him to bring out the measuring device. Placing his hand on the orb, he instinctively injected spirit power into it. The number displayed on it brought a wide smile to his face. It was 10. Xie Xie had Innate Full Spirit Power.
