-Smallville, Kent Farm-
After a long and well fed dinner, Erick had thanked Clark and Lois as he headed outside for some fresh air, as he leaned against the wooden railing from the house as he took a moment to see everything in front of him
The beautiful flowers spread throughout the grass, the birds chirping, the warm sunlight touching his skin, and the gentle breeze of the wind brushing against his face..it all almost felt too good to be true; it felt like he was in a dream..a dream that felt like he didn't want to wake up from
But it wasn't, this was his reality; he didn't get to see anything like this back when he was still in that damn cell..he only remembers being cold and hungry. But here in this place..it all felt electrifying to him in every way, the small sparks of lightning move so fast they look like they're not even there and yet Erick can feel it..
Erick hears the door behind him open as he turns his head a bit as he sees Kara stand next to him, as she looks out into the long fields of grass and flowers
Kara:I remember when I first arrived here..it was scary, I was so used to being somewhere else..I took everything for granted..I don't know why but I even entered to be some kind of contest
She feels Erick's hand brush against her's as she looks up and meets his eyes as he doesn't take his eyes off of her
"You did what you thought was best, I can't say I blame you though..we deal with trauma or loss in our own way but that doesn't mean we have to shut ourselves out..there'll always be pain in life but sometimes that pain can help you understand that you have feelings just like everyone else here"
Kara doesn't even realize how close they are as she finds herself laying her head on Erick's shoulder as they continue to talk
Kara:Your really good giving advice you know that?
"*chuckles* Well you'd be surprised on how much ive learned in life, maybe that's why I have a lot to say about certain things.."
Kara shifts a bit as she moves her head away from Erick's shoulder
Kara:You said this person your trying to get to is really important to you..are you two something more?..
She look down at the ground and then back at him
Erick didn't respond right away as he tried to form the right words to say, Kara Danvers had given him a chance..a chance most people would have thrown away like a rocking skipping against the water; to see how far it goes until it eventually sinks down
It was a strange comparison that's for sure but that was besides the point!
"I don't think so..she does mean a lot to me because she stood up for me when no one else would. There aren't a lot of people who'd do that.."
Kara:I would..
"Kara we barely even know each other.."
Kara:I know but..I just can't really explain it, all my life I felt like there was something missing but then I met you and now..things are--they're different. We did just meet today but I know that I can trust you..
She didn't really know how to explain it but it was all true, she felt like she could just tell him everything..and he'd know what to say..Erick Thawne had appeared into her life and she was genuinely grateful to have him in it..
Erick suddenly felt a sharp pain rush through his head as he stumbled back as Kara quickly helped him from falling backwards as she worryingly asks him
Kara:What is it?..what's wrong?..
"I-I..something isn't right..something is coming and it's not friendly.."
Kara:What does that? Erick what's coming?..
Erick slowly turns his head and faces Kara..she could hear his heart beat go up..he was scared..but why? What could possibly make him so scared?
"Death..it's coming for me.."

-Earth 38/National City-
Kara sat on the couch of her apartment as she took another bite from her pizza, as her mind was a bit wondering. She hoped that she had gotten through to Barry, she didn't want Erick to be stuck in another cell for God knows how long..he didn't deserve to be treated that way not even after he's been through
And yet she found herself remembering a somewhat strange moment in her life
-Flashback/During Crisis on Earth-X-
She was strapped down onto the gurney as she could feel her powers slipping away from the red sun radiation basking over her as Overgirl leaned in
Overgirl:Why do you care if I take your heart? Your not using it..
Kara:At least I have one..
Overgirl scoffs as she presses her against Kara's head adding a bit of pressure against her skull
Overgirl:I had one before..you think I wanted to marry that pathetic archer hm? I had someone who was far better than him, he was fast..he was strong, he knew what it took to make sure we succeeded. Granted I wasn't the only woman in his life..there were others who sought his attention
