12.A Promise Kept? [Part 3]

-Flashback/STAR Labs/Pipeline-

Erick moves his hand against the blue tiles of the cell as he hears the doors to the Pipeline open as he curiously turns his head a bit as he sees someone he wasn't actually expecting to see..

Morgan:Hi..

Erick looks down at her hand as she's holding a bag of food as she holds it up

"Um hi..is that for me? Because im hoping you didn't poison any of it.."

Morgan:No don't worry I didn't poison any of it, I know speedsters need to eat a lot of food because im friends with one

She walks up to his cell and opens up a small hatchet as she slides the food through it as Erick grabs it and opens it as he smells the wonderful aroma of Big Belly Burger, he wastes no time as he begins to eat the burger. He awkwardly looks up with his teeth already sunk into the burger

"Would you like some?"

Morgan shakes her head respectfully declining

Morgan:You need the food more than me

"Thank you for bringing me this..I really appreciate it"

Morgan:It's no problem, your human after all and we need to eat to survive

"That we do..I uhh--I heard what you did for me back there when everyone was arguing with each other..why did you do that? You don't even know me"

Morgan:Well because it didn't seem fair to be honest, I know that everyone deserves to have a chance to explain themselves but apparently that didn't apply to you which was really messed up..im smart enough to know when someone is being mistreated and you were going through that

Erick sets down the bag of food and brushes his nose

"Well damn..haha thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt..im Erick by the way"

Morgan:It's nice to meet you, Erick. I'm Morgan..

Erick could sense something off about Morgan, like something was bothering her..

"Hey are you okay?.."

Morgan rubs her shoulders as she stares down at the ground and faces Erick

Morgan:I think so..i-im not sure..

"Do you want to talk about it? I mean I get that we just met but maybe talking about it will help.."

Morgan walks to the side of the entrance of the Pipeline as she sits down as Erick does the same

Morgan:I recently lost someone..someone close to me, that's why I came here; Jesse told me that I could just come here and not worry about my problems

"But then I stopped that..*sighs* Morgan I---"

Morgan:No hey it's not your fault, it never was..it's mine actually I shouldn't have pushed everyone away but I was just so..so..

"Angry..you were angry.."

Morgan wipes a tear from eye as she nods as the two stare at each other

Morgan:Yeah..I was angry, I just wished I had gotten there sooner..maybe if I did--I don't know how im supposed to move on from this?

Erick looks around his cell and then at the camera as he closes his eyes and focuses as his lightning surrounds him as everything stands still, he gets up and phases through the glass and touches Morgan on the shoulder as she looks a bit shocked

Morgan:H-how did you?..

"I could've escaped all of this time but I didn't and don't worry were moving so fast, they won't notice..it just looked like you could really use a hug.."

Morgan doesn't even hesitate as she wraps her arms around Erick as she let's the tears stream down her face, as Erick holds her close with one hand around her waist and the other on the back of her head

Morgan:I don't know what to do without him..I miss my Dad..

"Morgan..I-I may not understand what your going through but what I do know is that if your father were right now, he'd be proud of the remarkable woman standing in front of me. I know you miss him but everything happens for a reason; that doesn't mean you have to forget about him..no you should honor him..remember all those good times you've had together"

Morgan feels Erick brush his hand against her hair as he moves her chin up as she smiles a bit

Morgan:Thank you Erick..

Erick smiles back at her as the two stand there in each other's arms as Morgan buries her head onto the Erick's chest

"You don't have to thank me, Morgan..your a good person even if we did just meet"

Her laugh makes Erick's smile grow a tad bit more, she could feel the warmth from Erick's presence..she felt safe, she felt comfort in his arms

Morgan:Can we stay like for a while?

"Yeah..yeah of course..however long you need im here for you.."

-End of Flashback-

-Smallville, Kent Farm-

Erick sits on the side of the guest room bed as he finishes explaining to Kara

"And that's when I got here..I hope I didn't confuse you"

Kara:Maybe a little..but I think I understand most of it, so your trying to just get to someone you made a promise to

"Yeah basically..I know it sounds like sounds like a huge deal to everyone but it is to me.."

Kara:There's nothing wrong with that, Erick..it just shows how much you've grown to care for this person

She lays her hand on top of Erick's as they share a genuine smile towards each other, but unfortunately this moment is cut short as Clark makes his presence known as Kara turns her head and scoots a bit away from Erick

Clark:We have some food ready in case your hungry, Erick

"Yeah thanks I'll head down"

Clark:*looks at Kara* Can we talk?

Kara:Im pretty were doing that already, Clark

Clark glares at her cousin as she rolls her eyes and gets up and off the bed and excuses herself as they close the door behind him leaving Erick slightly confused

Clark:Alright now that our guest is in there and not out here, I need to ask..what's going between you two?

Kara:Clark we literally just met not that long ago, I mean yeah he's..g-great and all..

Kara doses off as Clark snaps his fingers in front of her bringing her back

Clark:Kara he's not going to stay here forever, from what he's told me whoever this person he mentioned really does mean a lot to him so don't get attached

Kara:Clark you have your own life, you have a job, your married to Lois..but me? I've never gotten a chance to experience any of that..I mean yeah there was Jimmy but it wasn't anything that I know would last.

Clark sighs as he looks back at the door and then back at Kara

Clark:I want you to be happy really I do..but Erick has his own life, he can't just drop that to suddenly get to be with you..you just met him Kara at least get to know him first, then see if you actually do like him

Clark walks back downstairs leaving Kara by herself as she walks back into Erick's room as we see him talking to Gideon

"How long do you think I'll be here, Gideon?"

Gideon:

Gideon turns her attention to Kara as she waves at her

Kara:Woah..you have an interactive AI?

"Yeah..Kara this is Gideon, Gideon this is Kara.."

Gideon:

Gideon leans over to Erick and whispers to him

Gideon:

She waves goodbye to Kara as she vanishes

Kara:She seems nice, did you make her?

But instead of answering the question he gets up and tells her

"Man im hungry we should head down stairs hm?"

He walks past her as she follows after him

Kara:Is it true that your going to be staying here for a while?

"Yeah I am actually you know until I can fix the extrapolator with the help of Clark's friends, it'll take sometime but im sure it'll be worth the wait.."

Kara:Ohh..well maybe we should get to know each other better!

"Yeah I'd like that but first..we gotta eat"

He offers his hand to her as she gladly takes it as they both walk down together..maybe his stay won't be so bad after all..
