New Neighbour (1)

"Krrr...krrrr...krrr...tttrrrr.."

"Tttrrrrrr....."

"kkr....krrrrr...tttrrrr.....kkkrrrrr...."

"Argh...." Lina shrieked in her sleep. She abruptly woke up from her rare evening sleep thanks to the creepy noises coming from the next door.

The room was dark.

Rays of the evening Sun were coming through the middle of the crumbled curtain over he window making the room mesmerizing.

Lina looked for her phone to check the time and moved to the window. The city was starting to light up gracefully. The view was from the window was undeniably beautiful.

Lina freshen up and made herself a cup of cona coffee, her favourite. Sitting on the arm-chair in the balcony she logged into QQ music and played some soulful music enjoying the view outside.

"Ding..! Please open the door." Suddenly her doorbell rang.

Lina frowned upon hearing it ' I didn't order anything recently...' She tried to remember if she had placed any order recently. Nope. There was none.

It's not that everyday your doorbell rings and then too at this time. She usually stayed outside this time and above all no one knew about her staying here. She herself made sure so that no one finds out about her residence.

Very few people knew about her staying here. And the very few people were basically her family. There was no news of them coming here recently.

The other residents here were too busy to make interaction with each other. They were all busy with making money for their livelihood. Who had time for others?

Lina wondered who might come here without any prior notice?!

Lina checked her surroundings to make sure she is safe here and grab whatever came up to her hand. She grabbed a vase lying over the coffee table and walked to the door.

Lina looked through the eyehole before opening the door and saw an unfamiliar person standing there with a package in his hand.

Lina opened the door and saw a person from the previous packers and movers company standing there with a takeout packet marked with a famous resturent's logo.

"Who are ....?" Lina tried to ask him but the man cut her off even before completing the sentence.

"We are so sorry for all the inconveniences ma'am. There were some issues in the room that needed to be done. Hope you understand.." The man blurted out.

"I'm sorry but what are you talking about?" Lina was surprised.

"Oh sorry Ma'am. We are the staffs working on the next room. The room was under renovation till now. Thus there was noises throughout the afternoon. We are sorry for making you uncomfortable." The man bowed to her and handed over the packet "Sir was busy with the furnitures. He told us to give you this as an apology. He saud sorry for all the Chaos. Hope you understand Miss."

"Oh! It's okay. I can understand. And there is no need of this." Lina refused to accept the package. She could understand the problems with shifting house. She faced herself those issues during her family's shifting and then again during shifting here.

Lina gave him back the packet " Please do tell my new neighbor that I welcome him here wholeheartedly. And I wasn't disturbed at all. There is no need of apologising. Will you please convey him this?"

Linah looked at him with pleading eyes.

"Okay ma'am. I'll tell him as you wish. But please accept our apologies. I can't bring those back." The man again handed her over the packet.

"Ah! Okay.. Thanks then.." at last Lina had to take the packet. She looked at the man suspiciously and eventually closed the door.

'New neighbor.. mmm... Not bad.' She took a look of the packet.

It was a bento box from a luxurious restaurant. She was shocked to see the foods inside. The package was full of various dishes. Some of them were her favourites. There was even her favourite dessert.

Lina was about to dance seeing the foods. I mean who does not like to have free food and then too all of her favourites. Being a foodie Lina was never going to spoil them.

Just as she removed all the dishes from the package Lina suddenly stopped at a paper inside.

A beautiful crafted paper was folded beneath all the dishes. It was a letter. A letter for her.

" Dear Miss Park,

This is the new neighbour shifted here today.

I'm extremely sorry for all the noises and disturbances for the past few hours. As you see I just moved here and the room was badly in need of renovation. I hope you understand my situation. Here is my apologies. Hope you enjoy your meal.

Sincerely,

Your new neighbor.

P.S. - Hope to get a great neighborhood. "

The letter was a printed copy. The paper smelled good.

'Mmm... interesting. Apologies accepted neighbour.' Lina served the pastry and made herself comfortable on the sofa and adjusted the laptop to her level.

"Grave of the fireflies" was playing on the screen. Watching animated movies was her favorite pastime.

And Lina loved her 'me-time'.

Free food, favourite dessert and favourite movie. What else do you need right now to be happy?

"Ah! This is life you know." Lina felt heavenly.
