Chapter 35

Dead silence between March 18 and April 13, as we gave up our home and life as a family in Phoenix. Thank God for my sister, or we’d have had nowhere to go. I’d looked for work with no luck, and poor health and girl problems and gut issues and how I’d have managed anyhow, I do not know. The past month had been full of saying goodbyes, selling things, giving other things away, cleaning, and crying. On the plus side, I read Stephen King’s 1126-page book ‘It’ in five days, so that helped me escape my real horror. Yeah, I believe in Hell and stuff, but it’s right here.

Apr 30: Not too much for today, went to Al-Anon by bus, long trip but I made it, and later Archie fell and got a concussion and a huge cut on his head. Stitches, blood everywhere, me ready to faint, and $60 at the urgent care. That was at the ice cream social at school, but at least we got to have the ice cream part first, so there’s that.
