81 Chapter 76- Forgotten?

[6.30 PM]

[Korean Hunter Association]

Inside the headquarters of the administrating unit of Korean Hunters, sat four individuals.

The crisis that erupted in Mumbai some moments ago, has already been tackled by Haru, but the news headlines were still indicating everything related to the incident.

Due to the interference of the Korean hunter, many lives were saved and the unexpected appearance of the dungeon also ceased existence thanks to Haru's phenomenal skills.

However, the matter of fact remained...what were those? How did they appear out of nowhere when there was no gate nearby nor did they look like typical dungeon crawlers?

A lot of questions and the person on whom, the chairman of the Association could rely to gain information regarding the incident was sitting just across from him.

"I have already received calls from India, thanking Hunter Haru and offering compensation for his services." Surveillance Chief, Woo Jin-Chul informed the dark-haired youth, about the response from the Indian Hunter Department.

However, Haru never did anything for compensation per se, so he asked the chief to handle it how he found compatible.

"Don't worry, I would take care of it." Woo Jin-Chul nodded with a trace of a smile on his face. At least there were some people who were serving the country not because of any greed, but just for the sake of it.

"Now to the topic at hand, Hunter Nanase. Do you have any clue of what kind of Gate that was?" Chairman Go Gun-Hee tried keeping his voice casual, but this incident wasn't just a fleeting matter to take lightly.

The fact that a gate could spawn and spill high-ranking monsters anytime and anywhere was quite concerning, not just for Korea but all over the world.

In the last incident, thanks to Haru's presence only half a dozen people and a total of four hunters died in the onslaught of those many beasts. However, not every time and everywhere Haru could be present to seal away the dungeon. Not to talk about, that there isn't any other hunter in knowledge who could hold high-ranking monsters from reaching the civilians for long.

Well, of course, there is the National level hunter, Yuri Orloff, who specializes in barrier-type magic, but considering his maintenance charge, not every country could afford to hire him.

Thus, Haru's involvement becomes once again critical.

"I believe this conversation would remain between us four, right?" Haru asked as he leaned forward and rested his elbows over his knees.

Go Gun-Hee didn't hesitate before clipping off the cameras and sound recorder beneath his desk before nodding for the younger one to continue,

"Go on."

Haru took a deep breath before announcing the truth behind the dimensional rifts,

"Those monsters which we killed back on Jeju-do...those special ones...their armies are still locked in the void somewhere and without their liege, they are going out of control. And when those many beasts would flail themselves around, the congregation of mana cracks the space that disconnects us from them."

Jin-Woo has no particular reaction to that since Haru already told him about it last night. However, it wasn't the same for the other two.

Woo Jin-Chul frowned slightly but remained wordless, while the older one raised a query that struck him immediately after comprehending Haru's words,

"...which means, they could appear anywhere and in any quantity?"

"Yes...and additionally, they may reach up to S-rank as well."

*Gasp*

This piece of information made the people in the room quite tense, including Jin-Woo. He had recently fought an S-rank ant who was now a part of his army...but fighting numerous S-rank at the same time was something Jin-Woo found challenging.

Not to talk about the other two, who weren't able to get over one of the most infamous S-rank raids for continuous four years.

No, it wasn't an exaggeration but rather a fact that humanity was not prepared to face numerous S-ranks at once.

Haru knew he was just dumping information which would make them restless, however, he needed assistance, and the Korean Association was his first and most prominent step.

"Not only our nation but the whole world is going to get involved in a war against those creatures. I surely could suppress them...but for how long? They are like popcorn, contained in a small packet and bursting every second to explode out. Putting a seal is just a temporary measure."

None in the room had any doubt upon hearing his words since Haru's way of explaining was to the point, albeit it didn't ease their anxiety even a bit. Rather to say, the Chief of Surveillance only found himself in a rare distressed situation, compared to how he felt toward the Jeju-do.

"Haru...what are the chances of numerous of those rifts sprouting at once? And is there any limitation to monsters in a single wave?"

"It would elevate from one to five to fifteen in no time, that much I could assure you. However, the number of monsters...until I don't seal them we have to face the whole army which surely would constitute over thousands of high-ranking monsters."

*KRIK*

Hearing his words, Go Gun-Hee subconsciously clenched his fist and broke the phone he was holding.

"Chairman." Go Gun-Hee raised his hand and shook his head which made Woo Jin-Chul stop in mid-step.

If he couldn't tolerate just hearing about the upcoming catastrophe, as the Chairman, how could he possibly defend his people when the time comes?

No, Go Gun-Hee needed to calm down and take things slowly. Until now, Hunter Nanase has given enough evidence that taking his words lightly would be nothing less than being foolish.

However, even if Go Gun-Hee wanted to believe that numerous S-ranked monsters were going to sprout out of nowhere...it simply sounded ridiculous.

*Bzzz*

Woo Jin-Chul frowned hearing the buzz of his phone since he had only allowed his secretary to call him if there was a dire emergency.

"Excuse me." Stepping back, the glasses-wearing orange-haired youth took out his phone and was about to ask what happened when the other side fantastically relayed all the information.

Woo Jin-Chul, subconsciously turned toward Haru and only murmured under his breath,

"Your school..."

And the next moment, Haru disappeared from sight.

*****

A/N:- You can't blame him for forgetting about it when so much chaos was going on. And also, Haru's concern was Jinah, who wasn't at school so he completely slipped up that incident.

Anyway, about the sequel of Solo Leveling, then no, I would pretend that Solo Leveling ends with the last monarch and the settlement with the Rulers.
