Silence

Hakaku's POV

Waking up to the smell of death was something that I've never thought would happen within the confines of my clan, but I knew nothing would be the same from this day forth and I may not come back to my home if I set foot outside the borders.

Moving the bodies was not a pleasant affair, even more so that almost no one had intact corpses and I knew that I must give them a proper burial before I leave or they'll forever in a state of fighting, never knowing peace even in death. I didn't sleep nor rest for five days and nights as I tried to give my home the respect it deserves.

While I did this I realized that the seal that kept my emotions sealed was cracked and on the verge of collapse and all it took one more push before everything became too much for me to hold it back. Falling to my knees,I watched the fire burn the bodies of those of the now extinct clan as tears of blood rolled down my face,I wondered if this was planned by Kami-sama as felt my body shake with emotions that I've never known.

Third Hokage's POV

A massive discharge of nature chakra that bordered near inhumane was located near Fire country's borders, worried that it might be an attack on Konoha, I sent Minato's team and a Anbu to check it out. Fearing that something much worst has happened to one of Konoha's ally with Shinigami clan as it is a secret that's known only to the Hokages that have fought alongside our shinobi in the shadows and it's been that way ever since the founding of our village. Just thinking about the history of the Shinigami clan gave me goosebumps of the thought of the once peaceful farming clan that had to pick up the art of war just to survive in such turblent times.

I never knew that something would put fear into the hearts of ninja would be born of a disaster that could've been easily prevented.
