Brian chuckled, looking away from Emerald briefly as he took a few gulps of water. He had found what she said funny but he knew better than laughing out loud because she could misunderstand his reason for laughing and think he wasn't taking her seriously.

"And what exactly are you supposed to stay focused on?" he asked, pretending to be clueless.

"Oh come on now Brian, don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about. I remember mentioning on our way here that I'm going to take my time to forgive you because I'll be more focused on observing you enough before finally deciding to forgive you completely," Emerald reminded him, hitting the fact that he was making her repeat herself when he knew exactly what she was talking about.
