45: Get high MonaLisa

To say I'm nervous would be a falsehood I'm not nervous my mind is anxious as the time came closer the thought of going to the club seemed to be a bad idea and  my mind it's coming up with the worst scenarios of what could happen in a simple night out

Huddling enough motivation I look into the closet and grab a jumper with plain jeans this is more comfortable clothes for me to go anytime anywhere with

I open the door and bump into Jennie. She stayed there gazing at me "You're going somewhere?" She asked

"Yeah," I nodded

"Where?"

I sighed she is blocking my way now how im suppose to get out

"Clubbing, one of my high school seniors invited us for a night out ."

"Us?"

"Hm, Jerry, Joey me and Amy, and Oliver will probably join "

"Oh,"

"Yeah."

Can I go now?

It doesn't look like she wants me too

I wonder where she is going because of the undeniably beautiful knee-length sleeveless black dress that hugged her curves in every right place but not in an inflammatory way and the makeup with simple gold jewelry makes her look illusively dazzling. She runs her svelte fingers through her long straight brunette hair. The gold diamond bracelet around her wrist shimmered into the light

"You need to change." She stated

"It's fine I can j–

" No, I said you need to change means you will change."

Refusing my answer or agreeing with her opinion I found myself dragging behind to follow her upstairs and watch her walk into the wardrobe room to bring out a neatly wrapped up 'Gucci' scribbled bag.

"Take that schmatte off and put this on."She orders plainly.

I gently took the bag from her gasp and went inside the closet. When I got out wearing a white mid-sleeve bottom-down 'Gucci' printed top with blue cotton straight jeans Jennie was holding a black jacket. I cleared my throat to make known about my presence, With a smile inciting on her lips she handed me it, and hinted to sit.

Sitting on the ottoman bench I tried to distract my gaze from her as she take out her 'Chanel' Makeup kit

" No" I tried to get up when I saw the make-up brush moving toward my face

"Fate," She warns sternly, a hand firmly placed on my shoulder to halt my movement." Don't worry it's just some lip gloss and touch-up. Trust me "

Her assuring words didn't encourage me about my choices but I still let her do her thing anyway cause whatever she wants to do she will do it eventually in one way or another.

"And… done," she cooed. " Now you look like you're going to a club ". I slowly nod

" Where are you going?" I implore causing her to stay.

The question seemed to catch her off guard. She placed her makeup kit on the bench and sat down on the footrest to help me with the flat heels " Jeremy wants to have dinner together." She shrugs

Something chunked inside of my chest." A date?" A pinch of bitterness stained in that phrases that didn't seem to be hidden from the idol

"Kind of." She huffed standing up on her feet.

"Oh." I nervously tap my fingers on the jacket. The affluent scent of  rich perfume in the  clothes I'm wearing abruptly felt more uncomfortable

"Fate ?" My vision blurred with the thought. Do I even have the right to wear this, "Fate?" The call of my name spurs me to look at Jennie."Do you want me to drive you?"

I shook my head and smiled "it's fine Amy will be waiting down the street." my answer didn't appear to her liking still she gave a forced smile in return

"Have fun then," she said." and stay away from strangers, don't be late ". She added

" Yeah, you too Have Fun."

The moment I left Kim House past the street a car horn enlightened me that Amy had just arrived and was waiting for me with Jerry.

Jerry got out of the car as soon as she saw me waving her hands happily she grinned. "Girl you are slaying it and wait.." she narrowed her eyes to look at my white top. "Where did you get those!" She blurted

I rolled my eyes and got into the car "Jennie gave it to me."

Her mouth fell open " she got a taste I must admit."

A smile emerges on my lips with her remarks, proudness swarming into my heart. She does have a taste in everything, maybe that's why she doesn't.

Choose me.

Where the pairs in the front seat pass their time with Jerry explaining her weekend to Amy who was attentively listening to her girlfriend's rambling words with fondness driving us to our destination. I found my interest outside the window as we drove through the night with stars arousing in the dark welkin.

As the car is getting closer and closer to its destination my mind traveled miles per second of the time I spend in the dilemma of going to the party in a blink of an eye I'm here sitting in the car, with makeup and dressed in a luxurious fabric that I could never afford  breathing into Jennie's elegant scent  that coated over the materials

A weird feeling bloomed in the pit of my stomach at the thought of Jennie. The feeling wouldn't let me rejoice in the time with my friends later on.

Jennie is probably hugging him right now.

Smiling at him.

Holding his arms.

Talking to him.

Kissing him.

And…

I shrugged it off and focused on the streetlights.

20 minutes later, the car parked outside an enormous lighted nightclub. Even with closed windows and doors, I could hear voices echoing over the loud music. Blue, Green, and pink with the kinkiest of Red lights radiate from the bold laters

'The Box Cub'

There were over hundreds and twenty cars on our way to the entrance. Teenagers girls, boys, men, clothed, shirtless making out and so much worse screaming at the top of their lungs. Wherever my eyes veer all I could find are couples or non-couples making out

"The Box Club," I mumbled, staring at the entrance. My anxiety is screaming to run away from this place even though this place is screaming red flags.

Jerry may have sensed my hesitation, ergo she reached out to grab my hand, tightening her grip around it and smiling" you okay?" She implored.

Not really,

"Yeah,"

We brace ourselves and lead inside. The intoxicated smell of alcohol mixed with sweat created a suffocating air veil that prevented me from breathing. we passed bodies bagging their heads to the rhythm of the music. Jerry firmly holds me closer to hers so we won't get lost

We found the couple and Joey with Oliver sitting on one of the corner seats waiting for them to smile when our eyes met. Yeji gave me an amused look as her eyes seamlessly examined me but not in an improper way the profound smirk plastered on her lips when I lent a shy smile at her compliments.

There was a promise when Jerry said it will be fun and honestly, it is. the music was pulsating around the club drinks were being poured into the cups were not that bad since there was a rule I set for myself I stick  with it soft drinks instead of heavy alcohol

When the song played Yeji left in the middle of the dance floor along with Oliver whose hands were pulled by Joey stumbling lightly in a tipsy state. Oliver giddily chuckled accepting her hands.

I watch them dance care freely it was a relief to see Joey laughing with Oliver who protectively make herself a boundary not to let any guy get close to my sister

As they continued to enjoy the music I glanced at Jerry she was eagerly watching their dance foot taps onto the floor with rhythms. I know she wanted to join them too just because she promised she won't let me be alone she is here

"Hey," I called, causing her to turn her attention to me." go, you should enjoy it."

She shook her head "nope I'm not letting you be alone."

"Jerry, come on seriously, I need to use the restroom anyway." She was about to argue  but I shushed her "I can take care of myself Jerry Lee now go or I will kick you to the dance floor." I warn

Without any persuasion with a little hesitation, she shook her head again. I gently place my hand over her "Jerry I will be fine. Don't make me feel regret for coming here. Go." I urged.  She sighed and stood up to drag Amy to the music

I stroll through the other direction of the club, the red light alley where the restroom should be. I looked at my reflection in the mirror and was less anxious and more impressed.  "Is this me?"

"Rough night?" A slightly slurred feminine voice asked. I look at the woman, her jade long hair and dark eyes stare at me with amusement." I said, "Are you having a rough night?" She said the corner of her lips lazily lifted when I nodded my head and watched as she stood next to me to touch up her makeup in the mirror even though she didn't need to. She is beautiful not like others' dress code she was warning a tight yet classy fitted dress that hugs her soft curves

"You should loosen up a little bit, Sweet Girl." She husked as she applied lip gloss to her plump lips.

An embarrassed flush spread on my cheeks "oh." I mumbled

The Mysterious woman let a small diverted chuckle her brows lined up with dark make-up "You're cute. " she said and turned around. Her nails gently brushed  against my shoulders "sadly I have someone else for tonight."

Tilting my head I glanced at her in curiosity as her smirk grew." Maybe next time I could hear your voice more." The Mysterious woman let out before swiftly exiting the restroom

Strange.

Once I left the restroom I gave a last glance at the path where the lady went, then turned around to the side and crossed the red-lit alley.

The middle dance floor caper by the careless individual frisked without any thought. I tried to look out for my friends in the sea of crowds but it was no use. The neon red indiscriminate lights glimmered through the faces and faces. Hate to admit but it was unequivocally true I lost them. I ran my fingers through my hair and an exhausted groan left my lips 'Mierda!'

Before the inebriated thoughts inundate my conscious mind I chose to wait by sitting on the barstool. I tapped my fingers on the counter to grab the familiar tapster's attention.

"What can I get ya?" She asked in her Aussie accent her back was turned to me so she couldn't see my face but I knew it was her. Her cornrow blond braided hair could never be forgotten.

"Can I have a glass of water please?"

At first, she stood up still then turned around with a confused "what?" Her features softened when our eyes met "Fate!" She reached out to hold my hands. " You look hot!"

I smirked, " So are you… Jessica."

She shrugged off her shoulders " Anyway so water it is then."

"Yes,"

As I took a sip of water something cold touched the back of my hands I frowned upon seeing a glass filled with liquor ."Jessica, I didn't order this."

She smiled, " it's from her."

I look over to my right to meet a woman, not a woman who may be just the same age as mine or perhaps the same as Jennie's. Her brown eyes with black mascara dashed in dark eyeliner gazing at me with interest. Her blonde layered locks cascade down her back.  She is wearing a formal white dress, her red-painted lips twitching."Hey." She mouthed

Averting  my gaze from the  stranger I  look at Jessica who just came back "give it back to her I don't drink." She nods in agreement

The ear-piercing sound of a scraping stool on the floor makes me whine. My eyes move to the stranger as she takes a seat next to me." Not fond of drinks huh?"

"Not from strangers."

She smirked and tilted her head "I like you," she gently sunk her  teeth into her bottom lips " then why don't we get to know each other."

I look into her eyes trying for any sense of playfulness."No, I would rather be alone". My rejection of her offer seems to be nothing but humorous for her. She placed her hands on the bar table as they reach onward

I visibly gulped when she leaned "Sad it would be such a waste of a delicious," her lips moved closer to my ears. "Beauty" she whispered before pulling herself to take the glass and swallowing the liquor.

My hands become sweaty from the proximal closeness of our bodies. I cleared my throat and prepared to get up, away from this beautiful stranger whose eyes are luring me like I'm the last meal she would ever want to have.

However, before I could move her hand catch my arm "Hey  I was just teasing you," She sincerely discerned my nervousness.  "I'm sorry if that made you uncomfortable."

Her almond-shaped eyes flickered between mine. I stared down into them; they were warm and inviting, approximated with her aura. It was oddly comfortable for me even though it was a moment before.

Gently holding her wrist I pull back my arm and sit down." It's fine I was going to find my friends anyway "

She raised a brow, " You lost them?"  She asked there wasn't any judgment in her voice. I cocked my head, earning an amused laugh.

Her genuine  smile soothed my uneasy nerves  "don't worry maybe they will come here to look for you," she assured, outstretching her hand she greeted "I'm Lisa the way."

"Like Monalisa?" I teased

She rolled her eyes and waved her shoulders. "Yeah, right I get that a lot ."

I let a small giggle "Fate."

An authentic smile was etched on her features as the top lip exposed the protruding canines that latched onto the soft flesh of her bottom lips "it's pleasure to meet you Fate."

"Likewise."

We remain to hold each other's hands despite stopping shaking them. Her hands are a little bigger than mine but still soft  warmth rinsed on my cheeks I side my hand gently pulled out from her grasp feeling bashed under her gaze

"So…" she rests her chin on her palm." Are you still going to reject my offer?"

"Yes."

She tsk her tongue "sad, mind if I ?". I nod and she waved her hand to Jessica telling her to bring a glass of liquor.

Albeit drink being served, Lisa and I talked about the worst choices she could make of helping her best friend.

"Okay so correct me if I'm wrong your best friend is looking for a Man to get him to marry her fiancée?" I asked for the second time after she explained why she is spending her night waiting for her friend who is busy finding someone around the club.

"Yup, " she took a sip of her drink." That's what happens when you fall for a selfish ass person who doesn't give a fuck."

I paused " but she loves her fiancée doesn't she "

"More than anything."

"Then why is she looking for a man?"

"Because according to her fiancée, she would rather die in a desert than get matched to a girl." She scoffs

"Hopefully your friend never finds a man then" I cheered as she smiled and raised her glass.

We would have talked more about her friend but a phone call interrupted us. She takes her smartphone out and glances at the caller id her face lit up before she politely excuses herself I hummed with understanding.

My remaining empty sparkling water was replaced with another one as Jessica showed up holding two glasses, one for me and one for Lisa. Truly the girl has a heavy system when it comes to drinking. Both of the glasses were kinda the same this time but as Jessica mentioned both were just soft drinks so I grabbed the right one. The first two sips were a little bitter but not that bad so I chose to get it in.

Slowly as I kept drinking my mind became hazy. I shook my head viciously "h-hey Jessica !" I raised my voice "another one"

"Of course there you go."

I gritted my eyes. Surely the drink was hitting every socket of my head wrong, not just my head. It was flaming through my nerves scanning throughout the room as I tried to pull myself together.

Even though I swallowed each drop but my throat didn't please it only went dry and burned  it craved more and with that, I make a decision

A no turning back decision

"Jessica I want the bottle of that drink"

"Fate you sure?" She asked

I look up at her, a worrisome sweep on her face, and the corner of my mouth curl up into a smile. " Yes."

Tempting opaqued intuitions coiled my senses as I struggled to gulp the bottle down don't have any idea in what round I was in of the tastes but it was inevitably sear still it wasn't satisfactory enough to alleviate the deep pinning hollow of my heart logic conscious extracted to wilt my lungs started to pant for the enormous doses of oxygen I choked and etched up from the seat track toward those fluorides lights with faces podium hurled for myself in passivity.

"Fate!" A hand wavered on my hip to yank me closer to a soft sluggish chest "Fate are you okay?"

I squeezed my eyes harder and tears started to pour from the catastrophes with all the hopes of clear vision.

What's going on

"It's okay…" Soft flesh gently wrapped around my cheeks." it's me, Lisa"

Lisa

Lisa.

My eyes filtered around the illuminated red color "That's right breath.." Her brown eyes asserted

Her eyes

Brown eyes.

Jennie

My hands rise to feel a pretty nose soft  lips eyes brown pretty eyes I move closer to them to watch them but…they're not feline

Not Jennie's

It's not Jennie

Don't touch anyone who's not Jennie

"Are you alright?"

Between the Resounding music and echoes I heard concern."Lisa?"

"Yes it's me ." hands pull my arm tightly as the crowd swept aside with the music

"H-help.." Something clutched by my hands to strident forward " t-take m-me out "  I quivered, my throat throbbing to give out. My body hunched as Heat started to fuse my veins

"Okay. Okay, let's get you out of here."

Encircled between influenced individuals steps straights to random corners lead me to a faint red devil-lit alcove

"Fate, do you have your friend's number?" Asked Lisa. "Okay, I need to make a call and then we will call your friends.is that okay?" I nodded again

"Do you remember what you drink?" Again question my head started to be lightheaded now it was all that soft drink or water what was it again?

"N-no y-your drink"

"My drink is Vodka?". Hands grasped my cheeks " you drink vodka?"

"D-don't k-k-now" I slurred. The heat was too much now. Something strokes my back  I quaver in anticipation whether it was the heat that my body was becoming sensitive to being touched

"It's fine," Lisa cooed as her hands caressed my flushed cheeks. " Stay here, I'll be right back, don't go with anyone ."

With a distorted sense, I tried to search within my pockets and grabbed my phone. I need to call Jerry before riotous moments in my drowsy limbs took over. I dialed the caller id only J was visible and the other letters were only vague. it only took a moment for her to pick up the call

"Hello?"

"T-trouble h-help." I panted

"Fate? Is that you!" Panicked voice asked

Idiot is she for real can't she read my name? My head throbbed from all too much thinking

"Y-yes"

"Where are you right now I am coming over ."

I clasped my head "c-club…B-ox c-club."

"Okay, i'm coming there . stay where you are Okay? "She command

I can't even if I want to

" Fate!"

Lifting my gaze from the concrete floor I spotted Jerry jogging toward me with others

Wait, Jerry?

If Jerry is right there then whom i'm talking to I glance at the phone it is dead now. I surely need to buy a new one why don't I get paid enough to buy one ."Ugh," I groan in frustration from all the hefty mulled thoughts

"I think I just find your friends Fate." Lisa's voice rang from Jerry's side

" You smell like pigshit. I think you should stay in the apartment tonight," Jerry pleaded, her face dropped in concern. " I really shouldn't have listened to you.  Look what happened "

"Hey calm down guys it's not her fault that she accidentally drink my vodka you should be happy that you guys found her "

"She is right Lee it's okay to get drunk don't cause Adierson to freak out " Yeji scolded

"Come on girls, let's just go home."

As soon as we left the narrow corridor that led us to the entrance my flat heels screeched against the floor and a fatigued breath escaped my lips. The brightly lit bustling streets create chaos. Moments past I mustered myself to stand up straight, a hand caught around my shoulders as I almost stumbled down. It was Lisa she had been walking by my side.

When we reached Amy's car and everyone said bye to us I was about to enter the car but something stop me. I darted my blurry gaze to the black Porsche.

But it wasn't the car who took my attention even with dazed I was slaved by those sharp feline brown eyes fumed in rage. Her heels clapped against the concrete streets in her hasty steps. Just as I motioned to take a step back a strong grip seized my wrist and dragged me forward. I winced when nails dug into the flesh without mercy, painfully.

"Hey! You can't just take her with you!"I could hear Jerry's voice from behind

" Don't." Jennie snapped at her tightening her grip on me. I attempt to pull my hand from the hold but it only becomes painful

I should have never accepted the night out.
