Snap 25: Hiding.

"Uhh... what it that?" She said.

Oh no.

"It's n-nothing! Nothing." I said, stopping the lightning.

"I know I saw some sparks or something like that." She replied, confused.

"Trust me, you didn't see anything. It was just a...sparkler is all." I said, unconvincingly.

"I don't see any sparklers. You're not a good lier." She said.

I sighed.

"Listen, Anne, to be real with you... I can't say." I said.

"Using my name isn't convincing. And why can't you say? What, you think you're gonna be locked up in Area 51 or something?" She said jokingly.

I stood up.

"It's not a matter of my safety, it's of yours and my family. The more people that know, the more that would be in danger."

"From what?" She said.

"....I literally just said I can't tell you." I replied.

"You can't leave your family in the dark!" She said.

"Okay...here's the deal. Once I'm done with what I have to do, I'll tell you."

"Just me? What about your Dad and my Mom?"

"Trust me, for their sake, it's best they never know unless I have to tell them."

We stood for a moment.

"So, you're supposed to be some kind of superhero?" She asked.

"Well...kinda. I guess you could say that."

Her eyes lit up.

"Like Superman? Or Iron Man? What kinda hero are you?!" She said excitedly.

"Well, if I had to guess...hmm. Kinda like Superman? Kinda. More like Goku I guess." I said.

"Woah! So can you shoot beams and stuff?!"

"Not really, kinda... Okay, I can't say or show anything right now, so please, just wait a month."

"Please! Show me something, anything!" She replied.

*Geez, she's really into this stuff. I haven't seen her be this energetic since I met her...* I thought.

"Alright, take a good look." I said. "HMPH!"

Some sparks danced along my hand. I channeled the Light into my palm. My aura flamed out, Blue and white with golden sparks and slight glow.

Anne's eyes lit up.

"WOAH! So cool!" She shouted.

"Ssshh!" I said. I released my aura and removed my sparks.

"You can't let anyone notice, don't tell anyone, okay?"

Eyes still shining, with a great big smile.

"OK!"

At that moment I heard footsteps come up to my room.

"Don't say a word!" I said.

She nodded.

"Hey Aleks, one of your friends is at the door." My Dad said.

*Hm?*

I went down the steps and saw Ai talking to my Step-Mom.

"Huh? Hey, what brings you here?" I asked.

"Hey...you forgot your phone." Ai said.

"Oh! Thanks." I said, getting my phone.

*After what just happened half an hour ago, it's getting hard to talk to her."

"So how did you to meet?" My Step Mom said.

"Oh, we met in school." She said.

We talked for a little bit until my Dad said...

"So...are you two kids...dating?"

We both blushed.

"What're you talking about Dad?! You don't just drop that!" I said, embarrassed.

"What? I can't ask?" Dad said, jokingly.

"No... we are not." Ai said sheepishly.

Ai signalled there was something she needed to talk about.

"Uh, if you're gonna be like that, I'm going to my room." I said.

"I'll join you." Ai said.

"Don't do anything up there!" Dad said chuckling with my Step-Mom.

Redder than scarlet I said:

"CEASE."

We walked into my room.

"I'm sorry about that." I said.

"It's fine, it's fine." She replied.

"So, what'd you wanna talk about?"
