Snake Eyes and Black Widow

This is a story of Snake Eyes (GI-Joe) being a operative in the fantastic world of the MCU. Of course, as this is introducing a character from an entirely different universe this story will be an AU. Without further ado, please take a dive through the eyes of Snake. Disclaimer all rights and permissions stay with the original writers and creators. This fan-fic is just to take a spin on what it would be like to have one of my favorite characters in the MCU.

Chapter 29: The Battle Within

The control room erupted into chaos the moment Natasha and her team breached the door. The Overseer's guards reacted instantly, weapons drawn as they opened fire. The sound of gunfire echoed through the enclosed space, but Natasha was already moving, dodging behind a large console and returning fire with quick, precise shots. Her team followed suit, spreading out and engaging the enemy in a coordinated attack.

"Focus on the guards," Natasha ordered through the comms, her voice steady despite the intensity of the situation. "I'll handle the systems."

The room was larger than she had anticipated, with several layers of consoles and terminals lining the walls. It wasn't just a control center for the hub; it was a nerve center for the entire enhanced soldier network. The Overseer's reach extended from here to the remaining facilities, and she knew if they could shut it down, they'd be one step closer to ending his plan for good.

Natasha darted across the room, her movements fluid as she ducked under a volley of gunfire. She reached the central console, her eyes scanning the complex array of monitors and controls. The system was heavily encrypted, but she had Stark's support, and that gave her the edge she needed.

"Stark, I'm at the main console," Natasha said into her comms, her fingers already flying over the keyboard. "Tell me what I need to do."

"I'm patching in now," Stark replied, his voice tense. "The encryption is tougher here, but I'm breaking through. You'll need to access the mainframe and initiate a full system shutdown."

Natasha worked quickly, her eyes narrowing as she bypassed the first few security layers. The system fought back, throwing up more roadblocks, but she pushed forward, determined to crack the code. Around her, the sounds of battle raged on. Marks and the rest of the team were holding the line, keeping the guards from overwhelming their position, but she knew they couldn't hold out forever.

Her fingers flew over the keys as she initiated the shutdown sequence. The monitors blinked, flashing warnings as she began to disable the facility's core systems. Sweat beaded on her forehead, but she didn't stop. The countdown had started.

Behind her, the clash of gunfire and the shouts of combatants grew louder. Natasha glanced back briefly to see Marks taking down two guards with well-placed shots, but the number of enemies wasn't dwindling fast enough. More reinforcements poured in, and they were running out of time.

"I've almost got it," Natasha muttered into the comms, her focus returning to the console.

Suddenly, a sharp beep echoed through the room. Natasha's heart skipped a beat as she looked at the screen. The system had detected her intrusion, and a secondary defense mechanism had been triggered. A new layer of encryption appeared on the screen, locking her out of the core systems.

"Stark, something's wrong," Natasha said, her voice tight with frustration. "The system just initiated a countermeasure. I'm locked out."

"I see it," Stark replied, his voice strained. "They've activated a failsafe. If you don't disable it, they'll be able to reboot the entire network remotely. We can't let that happen."

Natasha's mind raced. She needed to shut down the failsafe before it was too late, but she was running out of time. Every second that passed brought them closer to the enhanced soldiers being deployed. She couldn't afford to fail now.

"I'll figure it out," Natasha said, her voice resolute. "Keep working on your end."

She quickly scanned the room, looking for a manual override. The Overseer had designed this system to be nearly impenetrable, but she knew there had to be a way in. Her eyes landed on a small panel near the far wall—an access point to the facility's internal systems. It was risky, but it was her only option.

"Cover me," Natasha called out to Marks as she made her way toward the access point.

Marks nodded, taking up position near the door to fend off the remaining guards. His team was holding their own, but the enemy forces were closing in fast. They wouldn't be able to hold them off for much longer.

Natasha reached the access panel and quickly pried it open. Inside was a tangle of wires and circuits, all connected to the facility's core systems. She worked quickly, bypassing the physical security measures and rerouting the power flow. If she could cut off the main power source, the entire facility would shut down, including the enhanced soldier program.

Her fingers moved with precision as she disabled the final circuit. The room flickered, the lights dimming as the power began to drain. The monitors on the wall flashed red, signaling the beginning of the shutdown sequence.

"Nat, you did it!" Stark's voice crackled through the comms, filled with relief. "The system's going offline. The enhanced soldiers are deactivated."

Natasha exhaled, a brief moment of satisfaction washing over her. But before she could fully process the victory, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed down the corridor. More reinforcements.

"We're not done yet," Natasha said, her voice steady. "We need to get out of here."

Marks turned toward her, his face grim. "We've got a lot of incoming. Exfil's going to be a problem."

Natasha moved back to the center of the room, her mind racing. The facility was shutting down, but they were still trapped inside, and the Overseer's forces weren't going to let them leave without a fight.

"We'll take the service tunnels," Natasha said, formulating a plan. "It's our best shot at getting out before they overwhelm us."

Marks nodded, rallying his team. "Let's move."

The team fell into formation, moving swiftly through the control room and into the narrow passageways that led to the service tunnels. The air was thick with tension, the sound of footsteps and shouts echoing through the facility as the enemy forces closed in behind them.

Natasha led the way, her eyes scanning the dimly lit tunnels for any sign of danger. The exit was close, but they couldn't afford to slow down. The guards would be on them any second.

Suddenly, the sound of gunfire erupted from behind them. Marks' team returned fire, holding off the pursuing guards as they made their way through the tunnels.

"We're almost there!" Natasha called out, her voice steady despite the chaos.

The tunnel opened up into a larger chamber, where the emergency exit was located. But as they reached the final stretch, the floor shuddered beneath them. The entire facility seemed to tremble, and Natasha knew what was happening.

The Overseer had triggered a self-destruct sequence.

"Move!" Natasha shouted, pushing her team forward.

They sprinted toward the exit, the walls shaking around them as the facility began to collapse. Dust and debris filled the air, but Natasha kept moving, her focus solely on getting her team out alive.

They burst through the exit just as the tunnel behind them caved in, sealing the facility's fate.

Natasha's chest heaved as she caught her breath, her team scattered around her, equally shaken but alive.

"We did it," Marks said, his voice filled with relief. "We shut it down."

Natasha nodded, her eyes still fixed on the collapsed entrance. "We shut this one down. But we've still got more to go."

The fight wasn't over. Not yet.
