“Oh, wow!” Nate said. “That’s awesome.”
“It is pretty spectacular, isn’t it?”
When we pulled up onto the parking pad in front of the garage door, we saw our hosts standing on the deck at the head of a flight of steps. Bobby Webster was a good-looking blond with arresting blue eyes, and Chad Hopkins was about his height and build, but with a jet-black crew cut. We shook hands all around and chatted pleasantly about Good Shepherd for a minute; then Bobby said, “Why don’t I show you around the outside of the house while there’s still plenty of daylight.”
“I’ll put the wine in the fridge while you do that,” Chad said. “It’ll go very well with our dinner.”
“The deck across the front and around the sides of the house isn’t very big,” Bobby said as he led us to one corner, “but the rear deck more than makes up for it.”
