A New Beginning

"Congratulations my lady, it's a boy,"

I heard someone's voice,

'Who's that voice?'

As I opened my eyes, I felt a sudden pain in my eyes. A few seconds later, I tried again. This time my eyes were bombarded with many colors and figures.

And the first thing I saw was a beautiful woman with long silver hair and blue eyes.

'Whoa! She is so beautiful.'

"Look dear, he has your eyes," The silver-haired woman said.

As I turned my head to where the silver-haired woman was looking, I saw a young man about the same age as the silver-haired woman. He had a handsome face with black hair and golden eyes.

'Where am I? Wasn't I in the car?'

Upon looking around, I found myself in a large room with candles lighting it up.

'Don't tell me that I got reincarnated into another world.'

When I was in my thoughts, the black-haired man asked the lady next to him, who seemed to be a doctor.

"He isn't crying. Aren't babies supposed to cry when they're born?"

"In a few cases, the child doesn't cry, my lord," the lady said.

It's more like an excuse to me.

A few moments later,

"Then, if you excuse me, I will take my leave now, my lady, and please take plenty of rest." The lady said.

The silver-haired woman only nodded her head.

The lady bowed and left the room.

"What will be his name?" The black-haired man asked.

"His name will be Ethan," the silver-haired woman said.

While they talked to each other, I tried to comprehend my situation.

'I understand their language, so that's a good sign if I have been reincarnated. And from the previous conversation between the silver-haired woman and the black-haired man. She must be my mother, and the man with the black hair must be my father, and it appears that my new name is Ethan.'

My mother looked at me with a smile.

"You must be hungry, aren't you?"

After saying that, my mother unbuttons her dress, revealing a beautiful pair of bosoms.

She took my head near her breasts. When my face was near her breast, I started to suck her breast milk.

It was the best experience of my life. I like the taste and the smell of it. Not in the wrong way.

A few minutes later, when my stomach got full. She buttons her dress.

My mother kissed me on my forehead and turned her head towards the two people standing beside my father. One was a middle-aged man, and the other was a woman. They both wore black robes.

"Please take good care of him,"

'What's that supposed to mean?' I tilted my little head.

The moment my mother said those words, tears filled her eyes.

When I saw her tears, I also felt the urge to cry.

I tried to say, "Please don't cry," but there were no words that came out of my mouth.

My father took me in his hand,

"I'm sorry, Ethan. You had to leave your mother's side just after you were born."

When he said those words, his eyes were filled with sadness and anger.

'What do you mean by leaving?' Again, no words were coming out of my mouth.

"Goodbye, my son."

After those words, I started to feel sleepy,

'Why am I feeling so sleepy all of a sudden?'

My father handed me to the woman in the black robe as I fell asleep.

"Please be careful on your way," My father said.

They both nodded their heads and left.

In the room, only my mother and father were left,

"Don't worry. You will meet him again." my father said while holding my mother.

When he hugged her, my mother broke down in tears.

A month later,

On the outskirts of a village in a house, a baby lay on the bed, moving his hand in the air. He had silver hair and golden eyes. It's me, alright.

It's been a month since I was born. I started to understand a few things. First, the middle-aged men and women who were present when I was born were my grandpa and grandma, and I lived with them in this house. Second, I had a bandage around my right arm that didn't fall off, regardless of what I did. Third, people use magic in this world. I was surprised by this discovery. Lastly, I was forced to leave my parents, but I still don't know why.

"Oh, is my little Eethie awake?" My grandma came into the room and picked me up. She gave me a nickname that was longer than my real name, Ethan. But it felt good when she called me by my nickname.

My grandma, Sarina Flammia, had long black hair and blue eyes. She still looks young and beautiful despite her age. She is a kindhearted person.

She took me outside the house. When I was outside, I saw my grandpa sitting on a chair under a tree.

"Hey, little Eethie, come to your grandpa," Grandpa said while extending his hand towards me.

My grandpa, Aldric Flammia, had black hair that was trimmed and a black beard. He had a pair of sharp black eyes. He also had a joyful nature.

This is the first time in my life I have received this kind of love and care. So, I am quite enjoying this.

Six months passed by,

Today is one of my best moments in this new life. Because

'I can crawl now.'

My face was filled with pride at my accomplishment.

The fact that I crawled made my grandparents feel somewhat relieved that I grew like every other child.

"That my boy." My grandpa said.

A few days passed by,

I am now able to crawl properly. It's time to learn more about this world.

I crawled towards the room where the books were placed.

When I entered the room, I could see some books on the shelf.

After seeing the books, I crawled quickly.

In the past few months, I heard some interesting stories from my grandpa. That made me more curious about this world and magic.

I couldn't reach the books since they were high on the shelf.

So, I screamed when I was near the bookshelf.

"EAA…Eaa"

"EAA…Eaa"

My grandma ran over to me when she heard me scream.

"What happened, Eethie?"

I smiled upon seeing her,

'It worked.'

"Ea," I pointed toward the bookshelf.

Grandma saw the direction where I was pointing,

"You want books," She asked.

I nodded.

"You wouldn't be able to understand them, and we don't have any picture books."

I again pointed towards the bookshelf.

"So, you want those books."

I nodded.

She sighs, "Fine."

She brought all the books from the shelf and placed them near me.

I gave her a large smile.

Seeing my smile, she pulled my ear, "Next time don't scream like that. It's made grandma worry, okay?"

I only nodded my head in agreement.

"Good, grandma is going back to her work."

After grandma left, I searched for books related to this world or about magic. I picked a book with the title 'Fundamentals of Magic.'

'It's about magic.'

When I opened the book, I was welcomed with unusual writing.

'What is this? Which language is this book written in?'

I turned a few pages but couldn't understand anything.

'Let's try another book.'

When I was about to close the book, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my head and the very next moment, strange letters and words started to fill my mind.

'ARGH!'

'What are these?'

'ARGH! ARGHH! ARGHHH!!!'

'It's hurt.'

I was trying to hold back my screams while rolling back and forth on the floor, holding on to my head. The pain was so intense that tears were forming at the corners of my eyes.

After a while, the pain started to disappear,

'What the hell was that?'

'I should tell grandma about this.'

I shook my head and sighed.

'Nah. I don't think she would understand what I am saying.'

I was lying on the floor, exhausted as grandpa entered the room.

"What are you doing, Eethie?"

I looked at him with teary eyes when I heard grandpa's voice.

"What happened? Why are you making that face?"

"Eaa... Eaa..."(My head hurts.)

Grandpa didn't understand what I said, but he tried his best to decode my words by looking at my surroundings.

The next moment, he said what I expected him to say.

"You want a book with pictures?" He asked.

The only thing I can do is nod,

'It's not grandpa's fault.' I sighed.

"Let's see, a book with pictures." He bent down and picked a book and gave it to me.

I took the book from him with my little hands.

"It's the only book that has some pictures in it. It's about our world."

My teary face changed into a smiley face when I heard grandpa's words.

'Let's try this book. There might be something I can understand.'

"Eaaaa Eaaa" (Thank you, Grandpa. )

"Well, then I'm going to get some rest now."

After grandpa left the room, I opened the book.

It contains the same unusual letters and characters as the first book, but I can understand them this time.

'What's going on here?'
