Skyrim x Witcher: Tale of Chronicle Explorers

— Excitement courses through William as he looks at the two physical game discs he just purchased. It's been a while since he heard his friends rave about the games, and they've already completed them on their own. Notably, the game itself is already 8 years old. After switching on his computer, his attention wanders to the numerous novels and manga lining the bookshelves, with a particular focus on the sections dedicated to BNHA and AOT. Soon, his eyes shift to the side, where the Witcher 3 game is neatly stored. Once he boots up the computer, he proceeds to install the game and immerses himself in it day and night, taking advantage of the summer holiday. However, on a fateful day, while strolling through the streets of his hometown, he finds his gaze drawn to the sky. A bright yellow light begins to intensify, capturing his attention, and before he can even process a final thought, William engulfed in a sudden cold darkness. — Extra Tags: Slow Paced, Magical Research, Divination, Skyrim, Witcher 3, World Not Revolving Around MC, Friendship, Political War, Minimum Presence of Deity. Possible Future Tags: Adventure, Action, Tomb Diving, High Rock, Nilfgaardian, Historic Perseverance, Developing Own Magic. My main focus in this fanfic is to fleshed-out the lore of both of this franchise (Skyrim and Witcher), and how the culture of these two people there is interacting with one another. If you search for MC that solely focused in achieving divinity, this fanfic is not it. But I also know that I will most likely put disasters upon disasters after another to make the world more interesting. So, even though power level is not my focused, I will still make the MC to improve himself further. As to why he wants to improve himself, that you must read. Since, it counts as spoiler by my standard of seeing things. —   For now, the chapters are shortened to be 1000 words so that I can collect advance chapters. —

Waiting.

After that brief sudden enlightenment out of nowhere, William is now in a dilemma about where he wants to go. Since Rorikstead is very far from here in the Labyrinthian. Or any other common road for that matter that will lead him to the nearest village so he can buy a new horse. Even then, the question of money will pop up when the transaction begins, in which he doesn't have any to trade right now. Prompting him to give short services as a mage that has a high chance of being rejected.

Other than going directly to Rorikstead, he can also hitch a ride with Rikke and her Imperial party to teleport him near Rorikstead. But that too will pose many more problems that will impact him down the line. Let's just say he managed to hide his identity as a Nilfgaardian mage. Sooner or later, that information will come to light, given the sensitivity of this project they are currently undergoing right now. Maybe, they will do a divination checkup on him to see if his statements are true or not, deducting data that will later be gathered.

Although he loves to see Morokei being sealed away once again, so that he can glimpse how these Kyne priestesses deal with hidden dangers all over Skyrim. His presence there will be very minimal, to the point of becoming common battlemages. Knowing that his sniper projectile that he will shoot later becomes just another piece of data or knowledge for Morokei to study. Which, in turn, gives that guy enough reference to create an entirely new spell that can counter his Mystic Bullet or any other weapon that uses ammunition for that matter.

And he doesn't want to give up this advantage as long as he can before he needs to find another fighting style. Especially knowing there will be other nine Elder Dragon Priests right now that have the same strength and army at their disposal. With also having the same intelligence and knowledge as their counterparts that live here in Labyrinthian. So, in the dilemma of where he wants to go, William decides to search for the place where the Wooden Mask is located, rather than sitting here bored, waiting for the opportunity to have a horse or being teleported away has arrived.

Rubbing his chin while overlooking the tip of the titanic city, he tried to make sense of where that place is located. Since the place only gives him a sense of déjà vu, and that's it—nothing is the same, and the whole ruins are very different from the game. It is more huge and wide, with the style of the structure being slightly different. Considering that it follows the basic usage of a place when these ruins were still active, like the South Lawn version of Labyrinthian that is behind him right now.

One such example is the whole concave structure all over the city that looks like a nest for something big to perch on. He can guess it to be a nap station for the Dragon to sleep on after a long trip from Skuldafn, the true home for those Dragons. Not only that, in every part of this place, there are many open fields with Word Walls of the Dovahzul language. He can also guess these to be practice fields for Thu'um tonal magic. Confused on how to proceed further, William decided to get near one of these walls, wanting to study the word.

But it seems his luck has run out, as the magic that made up the word had already dissipated long before he arrived here. Unlike in Bonestrewn Crest, where he got to learn the diagram of the word "FO," this ancient carving, or more specifically, motivational saying, has already run out of juice and is unable to present itself to the Thu'um practitioner with the knowledge it once held. With no other choice but to continue his journey, William then resumes his search for the ruins of Bromjunaar Sanctuary.

While trying to map the surrounding structure with the knowledge he has, William hears a sudden explosion that instantly makes him stumble. This is followed by a sequence of Thu'um that loudly reverberates throughout the ancient city. Upon hearing the last sentence, he instantly activates his Second Spectrum Transcendence to the maximum, not wanting to become a victim to the same things all over again.

"BEX MIIRAAK MOTMAH! BO DOVAH LOK! GOL DU DIIVON!"

Labyrinthian opened her jaw like the beast monster, the earth beneath him once again wanting to swallow everything that stood in its way. Changing his dexterous muscles to be like that of a Khajiit, William jumps from one platform to another. Finally, he is able to arrive at the structure that is not affected by the magic produced by Morokei. Looking back to see the culprit escaping with his skeleton dragon into the portal, he just gives a middle finger to the guy that almost took out his life for a second time.

"Catch him! Don't let him escape out of this place!"

Seeing Rikke levitating a big chunk of rock that slowly elevated above for the big part of the army, he then sees her instantly chase the floating head and skeletal Dragon with hundreds of Kyne Priestess entourage. Although the move done by Morokei is effective since he is being encircled, the Magicka that practically leaks out of his body is an indication that the subsequent Thu'um are taking much of a toll on that guy's very being. Maybe, by the time he sees him once again, that guy will only become a normal level Dragon Priest and not the Elder Dragon Priest.

So, turning his head after watching a short display of telekinetic magic from Rikke and Thu'um magic from Morokei as they battle in the air before finally disappearing into the portal, William then tries to find the Bromjunaar Sanctuary structure. Since many buildings are currently sinking into the bottom of the earth, William easily finds that Sanctuary when looking at a certain monument that is shaped like a barrow or igloo house. When he cross-references it with the game counterpart, there is an uncanny resemblance, suggesting that this is the place where the Dragon Priest Shrine to place the eight masks is located.

While waiting for the structure to repair itself so that the majority of the streets that he traveled are accessible, William accidentally saw a red-haired sorceress currently levitating three other Witchers that he very much recognized in the west direction. Stunned to see Triss, Geralt, Lambert, and Eskel in this foreign land, and in one of the bizarre places no less, he then notices that his old lover is with them as well. Wanting to wave them to come here into this unaffected structure, he then sees the playboy bard mage Dandelion getting too touchy with Priscilla.

Not knowing what he feels about this situation, William then decides to stay hidden, not wanting to make the meeting awkward. Sighing with conflicted emotions, he then just sits down on one of the rocks and just plays with the snow, waiting for the road to repair itself. While thinking about how much he misses Vivienne and their banter, who he left her alone in the Adamantine Tower. Well, not alone per se, since there are many Chronicle Members there. But the only person that has the same age as him and can connect on a deeper level, given that all other members can be counted as their seniors and will have a very different perspective.
