Unexpected Problems

After wandering around for quite some time, we finally found a small and somewhat dilapidated inn. There was a forest beside the inn, and the atmosphere there was very quiet.

"A-are you sure you want to stay in a place like this, Elliot?"

Erriol seemed hesitant to stay here.

"Yeah. What else can we do? This is the only inn around here. You're tired from driving, right? So, we have to stay here."

"B-but..."

I squinted suspiciously. "Don't tell me you're scared, Erriol?" I burst into laughter as his expression reminded me of earlier in the car when he intentionally drove fast to scare me. "You're the one who looks like a scaredy-cat. Are you afraid just because there's a forest next to this inn and it's quiet here? Hahaha."

I couldn't hold back my laughter seeing Erriol so scared. Then I entered the inn, with Erriol, still looking hesitant, following me from behind.

"Excuse me! Is anyone inside? Excuuuse me!" I shouted because Erriol was just standing silently beside me.
