All four of them simultaneously turned towards the door.

KNOCK KNOCK

Hearing the knock again, they looked at each other. No one seemed to be expecting visitors, and it was still relatively early for the other two members of the group to be back.

"Hello?" A male voice came from outside. "Adventurers, are you there? I need help, please."

Exchanging looks again, they silently agreed, and Li moved to open the door. The other two prepared themselves in case they needed to act.

When the door opened, it revealed a middle-aged man, slightly shorter than Li, with thinning hair and a worn-out physique.

"Who are you?" Jihan asked.

"My name is Jaime... you must have met my wife, right? Is that why you're here?"

"Your wife?"

"My dear Mérida..."

They were all surprised by the man's words, but even more so by what he said next.
