Chapter 47: Clarusvallis
Before the sun fully rose, the group was already up. Wasting no time, they gathered all their belongings and packed them on the horses.
"Listen up, from now on, I want the double of focus and attention," commanded Matheus. "The only certainty we have is that there's a threat, beyond that, we know nothing."
Without needing to say a word, the team agreed. This was practically the first mission for this new formation, and they barely had time to organize among themselves.
Finishing saddling the animals, they mounted and set off.
It didn't take long to reach the village. Despite being a whole day's journey, considering the size of the kingdom, it was still closer to the capital than the borders. Even so, the village had slightly larger walls and two guards at the entrance.
