A day out

Charlie was abruptly awakened by the sound of his phone ringing, jolting him out of his deep sleep. Groggily, he reached for his phone and squinted at the screen. The bold letters displayed "A few minutes to ten," indicating the time. With a yawn, Charlie answered the call, surprised to hear Chloe's voice on the other end.

"Hey, sorry for calling you so many times," Chloe said, her voice filled with amusement.

Charlie rubbed his eyes, trying to shake off the sleepiness. "No worries. I was dead asleep. What's up?"

Chloe couldn't help but tease him. "Sleeping already, Charlie? It's not even ten yet! I thought I was the night owl between us."

Charlie chuckled, still feeling drowsy. "Well, I was exhausted. And besides, I usually stay up late writing lyrics."

Chloe laughed playfully. "Sure, sure, Mr. Night Owl. But that's not why I called. I have an exciting plan for tomorrow. We're going out, but not in the usual neighborhood."

Charlie's curiosity was unlocked, momentarily forgetting his sleepiness. "Go out? What if my stepmom and Steve arrive before us?"

Chloe reassured him. "Don't worry, Charlie. We'll make sure to time it perfectly. We'll wait until they leave, and then we'll sneak out and be back before they get home"

Relieved, Charlie smiled. "Okay, let's do it. But we have to be careful and make sure we don't get caught. I can only imagine what my stepmom would say."

Chloe nodded. "Absolutely. We'll wait for the perfect opportunity, and once they're gone, we'll make our move. Trust me, it'll be worth it."

They exchanged a few more details about their plan, their excitement growing with each passing moment. Charlie couldn't help but feel a sense of exhilaration and anticipation for the upcoming day.

Charlie couldn't help but join in on the fun. "Alright, alright. Lead the way, Scooter Queen. Let's see where this adventure takes us."

With that, they set off, with Chloe leading the way on her trusty scooter. Charlie couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement as they left the familiar neighborhood behind.
