What Makes You Shy?

The session continued with questions asked by doctor Zhao and kamlyn followed with written replies.

His question was. "What makes you happy?"

A long stare at her tablet kamlyn gave, she was struck in a daze as if this question had pulled some strings in her heart, playing a melancholic chord of elegic rhythms.

A small but apparent smile, graced her tiny lips. Slowly, her fingers began to dance on the surface of her tab.

She turned it toward the direction of doctor Zhao. It read. "Being with my loved ones, together."

A soft nod escaped doctor Zhao as he read through it.

"Okay, that's good. Everyone really loves being with their loved and close relations."

"So shall we proceed the next question?" He asked her with gentleness in his tone.

Kamlyn nodded in affirmation.

"What do you derive joy from?"

Another slight smile appeared on her lips, making doctor Zhao happy that indeed this method was the right one.

She ran her fingers again on her tab.

"Sharing the best moments with my family, and watching them happy."

Doctor Zhao read it out loud. "Wow, Looks like you are a 'baby in the family' type of girl.

Unexpectedly, his words made her smile broaden as she complimented it with a quick nod. Obviously she hadn't noticed this herself.

Doctor Zhao smiled back at her, but he decided to say nothing and just leave it that way.

"So what makes you….laugh, what's funny to you?"

Hearing this question, for the first time, a change of expression was on her face. Kamlyn pressed her lips against each other, while her eyes were fixed upwards, as if she was trying to remember something.

When she did, she instantly started to scribble down happily.

Already Doctor Zhao knew it was probably something about her family, he couldn't expect less.

Now he got enlightened about why the death of her parents was such a huge blow to her, to the extent of causing her a psychological issue.

She is not the only child who have lost both parents on the same day.

But her case is different. So different that she had to succumb to depression.

Coming back to reality, Doctor Zhao took a look and what she had written on the tab and began to read out.

"Watching momma and Dad argue." Her childish smile bloomed innocently across her face.

With the statement written boldly on the tab, Doctor Zhao couldn't help but chuckle at her.

"You are a naughty kid aren't you." He teased at her.

Kamlyn excitedly bopped her head up and down. If only her voice had heal, Doctor Zhao knew surely, he would have received a giggle from her.

"So..What makes you feel shy?" Doctor Zhao went down to the next question.

Kamlyn leaned the edge of the tablet by the corner of her lips as she thought seriously on what had ever made her felt the feeling of shyness.

Browsing the memories in her brain, she honestly couldn't remember anything.

She was always an indoor girl, no friends. She doesn't even go to school on her own. So thinking about it, it's likely that she had never had an experience of being shy, because she had no reason to.

Not even a puppy love because she never had one, she was never interested in things like that. It was considered a form of distraction to her. She only cared about her studies and making her parents proud every single day.

Her negative reply made a frown appear on Doctor Zhao's face. "You have never been shy before?" He asked her, kind of surprised by what she meant.

Shockingly, she nodded to him.

"Wow, is that even possible?" Doctor Zhao wasn't able to buy what she just said. A different thought popped up, giving him a different idea.

"It dosen't have to be about your closed ones or family. The must be something that makes you want to hide, that makes you….. question why you did a particular thing, that makes you want to take avoidance as a plausible choice. Try to remember, anything?" Doctor Zhao detailed out.

After listening to what the Doctor said, kamlyn resulted in thinking again. Searching the depths of her memories if a thing like that have ever happened to her.

Both from the past and recently.

She felt something coming…., The memory….. Suddenly an image of a shirtless figure with a towel wrapped around his waist, was all she could see.

Unknowing to her, tinges of red had started to appear on her cheeks.

The image continued playing in her head. From the waist, up to the pecs filled stomach, to the wide, broad and sharp shoulder blades. Following the manly collar bones up to the neck area. And there was it, his gorgeous and handsome face. It was….Ethan!
