“Beverley. I’m just letting you know that I’m heading out to Tokyo for a few days until I find out what’s happened to Dean…” David huffed and puffed as he ran towards his boarding gate.
“Why? Wait. What? What’s happened to Dean?!” Beverley’s lips quivered a little as she listened intently for the answer.
“There was an earthquake where Dean was, and he got taken to the hospital.”
“So, is he ok?”
“I don’t know. That’s why I’m rushing there now to find out.” David did not want Beverley to worry but he just did not have all the information to put her at ease. “Beverly, are you ok?”
“…Yes. Call me when you find out if he is ok, yeah?” Beverley forced herself to reply. She was trying to stop herself from thinking the worse for Dean.
“Ok. I will.”
“Promise?”
“Yes, I promise. It will be the first thing I do, ok?” David replied gently. He stopped in front of his gate.
“Ok…” Beverley replied weakly.
“I’ve got to go now. My plane is boarding already.”
