Two Weeks later

Emma's POV

Two weeks had passed and I was fully healed. J was finally able to walk around on my own now and my head was not hurting anymore even though the scar on my forehead looked bad but not too bad. Maynard was starting to treat me differently now, he was treating me well, like a husband should treat his wife, he took me to boulders Beach the day before yesterday avd we spent the entire day there. We even got the chance to see those amazing abd beautiful African penguins. We had a lot of fun, that was probably the greatest and most lively day I had ever had ever since I got married to him.

Since he seemed to be treating me well now I was going to ask him to allow me to go back to school next year. It didn't matter which school I went to, as long as I went to back to school. I walked out of the room after taking a shower and getting dressed. I made my way to Maynard's study because that is where he was. I knocked on the door abd he told me to come in. I walked towards him abd I stopped in front of his desk, I sat down on the chair that was across him. I could see the exhaustion in his eyes, he had been overworking himself a lot lately. He rarely slept for more than two hours, I guess Maybe that is the life of every CEO of a certain company in this world.

He looked at me with his beautiful abd tired eyes, he had a smile on his face wven though he looked a mess his smile was still as beautiful as ever. "Hey, do you need anything?"He asked me in his tired voice. When was the last time he had a goodnight sleep? Well I don't remember.

"Well, uhm the thing is I have done a lot of thinking."I said. I was bit nervous, I didn't know if he was going to let me ho back to school or not, but I hoped that he did because I really wanted to go back.

"And?"He asked.

"I was thinking of going back to school."I said. There was no other way I could think of saying it, abd I didn't want to waste his time.

"What?"He asked. It sounded like he was against it.

"My parents were the ones who forved me tk drop out, abd I want to go back and continue studying. I want to fulfill my dreams."I said.

"Is what I am giving you not enough?"He asked.

"No, that's not what I meant. I want to make something of myself I don't want to rely on you all the time, I have to rely on myself too you know."I said.

"Emma I don't have a problem with you depending on me, that's what I feel like I should do."He said.

"Mayn... I mean hubby, I want to have something of my own and what if something happens in the future that will separate us, then who am I going to rely on?"I asked. I just hated the fact that I had to rely on him for every little thing.

"Emma..."Maynard stood up from his chair and he went to his cabinet abd he opened the first drawer and he took out a blue file. "Here sign this."He said putting the file and a pen on in front of me.

"What's this?"I asked him.

"Once you sign this you will own 20% of my property and assets from today onwards. Even after our contract ends this 20% will still be yours, you can do whatever it is that you want with the money. See now you have it all."He said.

"Hubby look, I want to work hard for my own money, I don't want you to give me money. You can spoil me as much as you want, but please let me complete my studies. "I said, from the look in his eyes I could tell that he really didn't want me to go back to school but I just wanted to know why, there had to be a reason.

"I am sorry Emma but I can't let you."He said. I don't know why but I felt like there was something that he was hiding from me but I didn't know what that something was.

"Why?"I asked. There had to be a valid reason for this.

"Emma, I... I am sorry but I can't tell you now. If you want to make money then you come and work in my company, nobody knows that you are the one that I am married to..."Before he could finish talking I cut him off.

"And I am only sixteen and I have no experience. I did my research about your company and your company doesn't hire inexperienced people, especially a sixteen year old girl with no matric certificate. And wouldn't that make me an enemy to those who worked their butt just to get a Jon at your company? Hubby please, I am begging you."I said holding his hand.

"Emma, I am sorry but I can't let you, I will talk you why when the time comes but not now, 0lease understand. "He said. I let go of his habd abd I ran out of his study, I was really angry. I didn't see any harm.in me going back to school, abd besides nobody except for my best friend knows about aour marriage. So there is clearly nothing for him to worry about, he is just being unreasonable what an asshole. An asshole will.always be asshole, a big one too.

I went outside abd I sat down on the chair that was near the pool, I thought that we were fine, but I guess he really wants me to be nothing but his prisoner abd that was one thing that annoyed me the most. I wanted to be a free bird ,not a caged bird. I don't want to depend on him for everything, I want to depend on myself more that I do on him, but he doesn't want me to.I just hate him now.
