“Our best hope to save Malcolm and the others is to get the alpha off of Devlin’s ship.” It was James who spoke. “He cannot be heavily guarded. They had to tranquilize and carry him. With a limited crew, my best bet is four guards on deck. Maybe one or two in the brig.”
“The stealthiest way to get aboard would be climbing the anchor at port,” Tom suggested. “We shift once on board and make our way quietly to the brig. If we are seen we split into four different directions.”
“Desiree you head for the alpha,” James instructed. “He will know to trust you. I’ll be with you to take out the guards.”
“Can you handle two of them on your own?” she asked.
“If we are split up, I won’t be far behind,” Chris chimed in. “Tom will keep the crew on deck occupied for as long as possible.”
Tom nodded his understanding.
“But the main plan is to get to the brig unseen. Once the alpha is free…”
“Goddess help Devlin’s crew,” Desiree commented.
