The TV Interview

"BENNNNNN!!!!!!!!"

"What is it, Alex?"

"We have a tv interview today at 7 pm,"

"OH!! great.I almost forgot. Did they tell what they will talk about?"

"Mostly about the recent projects, but I am sure it's mostly scheduled to ask about your wife,"

"Oh well.. since we agreed, we'll do it. But I hope they won't piss me off,"

"I am there with you, so don't worry," he said with a pat on my shoulder.

As a practice, I only attend business-related tv shows, while Alex manages the others. But this time they have invited both of us. This is a bit odd and I do feel there is something missing in the process.

"Sweety, will you arrange my light grey suit," I asked hugging Sarah from behind.

"Why, do you have any important meeting?"

"There is a Live TV show I have to attend and don't I look handsome in it?"

"Hmmm.. yes you do,"

"Alex will join me and Meg will be here to accompany you,"

"Ok,"

Meg and Alex came around my place in the evening. While we both left with the team, the girls settled down to make dinner for us.

"Markus, did you do a background check?" asked Alex.

"Yes sir. They might provoke Ben to talk about his marriage and make him angry to get the truth out,"

"So this is a plot too," I said looking at Alex.

"We will see what is coming up," said Alex already with a plan in mind.

We went to the set and there was about half an hour before we go on air. They briefed us on what the segment was about and they introduced the host. I mean I have never heard of her, and she pretty much has been sizing both of us out till the show starts. I have to say I was feeling a little uneasy heading to the talk show.

"Welcome to the late evening talk show, everyone. Today our guests are the two handsome men from the Cliffords and CO. Mr.Ben Cliffard and Mr.Alex Richardson,"

"Welcome to the show," she said and we went on talking for a while about the business and the upcoming projects.

"I have heard that you two are best friends from a tender age?"

"Yes we are and we are more like brothers who share everything," said Alex.

"Ther is this photo provided to us by your father Mr.Ben, that shows a merry time in university, and I heard none of you dated anyone on campus,"

She showed everyone a photo of me, Alex, Sarah, and Meg at a carnival, well the carousel wheel.

"Oh!! That was our two best friends. We went on a day out with our parents," I said. While Alex added,

"The two girls are Sarah and Meg. Sarah is our chief designer while Meg is a doctor,"

"You both seem pretty close,"

"Yes we are very good friends, mostly like family," said Alex.

"Mr.Ben, so as I feel the key to your success is this friendship, this special bond you all have,"

"I think I have to agree with you that. While Alex is the CFO and Sarah is the chief designer, and Meg helping out with our well-being, we are a team that strives for success."

"I think everyone must be envious of your friendship,"

"I think they do," said Alex.

"You both are in your prime age, so Mr.Alex, aren't you going to settle down?"

"Well, I am pursuing a girl for many years, and no one else has been with me apart from her all these years,"

"Hope we can hear the good news soon, Mr.Alex,"

"Mr.Ben, you made media headlines with shocking news about you being married for several years," she said.

"Yes," I said calmly.

"I hope I am not intruding on your personal life, but may we know why you have kept her identity hidden so that no one has a clue so far who she is,"

"Well, one thing is because of her personality. She doesn't like to be in the limelight. So she won't accompany me to such events. She is a lovely woman, who is calm and pretty understanding,"

"And if I add, she is one of a kind a rare gem, like a Diamond, and I hope you will respect her decision," said Alex, so she couldn't ask any more questions regarding the matter.

"We sure do understand Mr.Ben and Mr.Alex, we'll go on to discuss more their vision for the future after this short break,"

The TV show went on for another thirty minutes. We left the studio after having a little chat with the producer and the team. The girls had watched the live broadcast of the show and they were pretty busy finishing up the dinner preparations when we got back home.

They had prepared a movie to watch after all this hullabaloo. After halfway through the movie, the girls had fall asleep. Markus came back with some news regarding our investigation.

"Sir, I think you should see this,"

We checked the video he handed us over. The video clearly shows the host of the show and Ms.Wang meeting before the show.

"Elanore, I know you can do this, get him angered so he will eventually tell who is his wife,"

And she handed over her a big package, surely a bribe.

"But what if Mr.Ben sues me for provoking him intentionally, I might lose my reputation," she said.

"I will take care of it," was all that Ms.Wang said.

Another clip was there that showed an angered Ms.Wang shouting at Elanore, the host, for not being able to do as she instructed,

"Ms.Wang, how can I question them further when they tactfully avoided the question. Don't you think they might be hiding a bigger secret? A secret they don't want anyone to find out,"

"I don't know, but I feel they must have known something about this plan, Err..." She was so angry and left the spot.

So again this plot was created by her. Was she the puppet used by Liam? That was all we thought of.
