She Is His Addiction

"I have bad news." Lian paced the hotel room and said. "Bad news?" Fidel folded the papers in his hands and asked. "Am pregnant." She said. Fidel laughed while looking at her. "Being pregnant isn't bad news. It's worth being celebrated." He walked over and tried to touch her belly but she walked away. "Fidel I know you're just some human who is super different from everyone else. This is wartime. Millions of people are waiting for me to stop the evil magic. Everyone is looking up to me. Look around Sky Wing, what do you see? desperate people. Let me just tell you that am going to terminate it. This isn't the right time to sit down and nurse pregnancy. I have a long way to go and everything else can wait." Lian said seriously. "What? Terminate my own child? That's not going to happen. Listen to me, I know what you're thinking but am here with you, I will protect you, I will protect my child. It must live!" Fidel said emphasising every word. *** And the sword went right into her belly. Terror was written all over her face as she looked at the oracle's smiling face. Fidel saw her fall and everything seemed to stand still. His eyes suddenly lost color and he roared towards the oracle. "Kai, Max, take madam away. call a plane and have her flown back to K nation immediately!" Adam gave the order....

CHAPTER 2: PROMISE KEPT

CHAPTER 2: PROMISE KEPT

"Actually, everything wrong happened and there was no one to rescue anyone. Some things are beyond us. Richard, after this I'll find you and explain everything to you. Maybe you might see it from a different angle. For now, please excuse me."

Richard nodded as she walked away. He wasn't upset, he didn't know what to feel.

....

SILVER MANSION

Evening... A convoy of cars drove into the compound. After they parked, the guards opened the door for their boss and his newly wedded wife. Lian stepped out of the car after Fidel made a few steps forward. As long as she cooperated, he won't drag her down in any way.

Few steps to the house, Eva came out with her case. After waving goodbye to Fidel, she walked over to Lian who was leaning by the car. She looked at her calm face before looking at the gate.

"Am sorry I dragged you into a mess you were so much avoiding." She said.

"You didn't drag me into it. Other things are beyond us. Am just grateful that once in my boring life, I have you as a friend and as a family. You risked everything for me, I know I can never repay you for that." Lian responded.

"No... Just be happy for me dear." Eva said smiling.

"I will get to you as soon as possible. Right now, happiness isn't guaranteed."

The two hugged. It was a warm hug and all emotions flowed between them. There were smiles on their faces and pain in their hearts. No one was putting on a show, they were being real.

"See you, dear." Eva walked out of the gate after refusing to be driven over.

Lian walked into the house and stood in the spacious bedroom. Fidel sat at the table rotating the tie in his hands. There were documents on the glass table. Lian reached for them.

All her work files including her work ID and passport. Everything she needed to get back to work including a letter from her former employer Mrs Oliver Stone. She didn't know how to react. She had given up every bit of her happiness to get this back.

Looking up, she saw the room she had been staying in initially had now been locked. She looked back at Fidel.

"This wasn't any big wedding so I didn't prepare for a honeymoon. Unless I make up to you someday."

Lian smiled bitterly as she arranged the files on the table.

"Follow me." He said as he started walking towards the stairs.

"For what?" she asked surprised.

"To do what married people do." He said looking at her with his distant eyes shining. "I couldn't force you because you had turned me down and we weren't married yet. You finally said yes and I don't expect any excuses."

"You know I did that to get Eva back her freedom and to get me back to my former work." Lian said.

"You did it for a show-off right?" He asked. "I took it seriously."

"Ooh please... Spare me that shit." She said.

"Spare your holy self then." Fidel said as he went upstairs.

Lian smiled before picking up the files and following him up. On the way, she met with Adam who was coming down. They walked past each other but she felt he stopped right behind her. She also stopped.

"Anything I need to know?" she asked looking at Adam.

"Umm... Nothing. Maybe if you want to take a look at your wedding pictures?" he replied.

"Sure."

He wanted to ask about Fidel's romantic words, but knowing Lian hadn't been so much friendly with the people in this mansion, he kept quiet and walked away.

After packing her files, she walked on the table in the bedroom and started flipping through the pictures. At least she couldn't be so negative. The camera person had done it precisely good.

"I looked like a real bride though." She mumbled.

"And I looked like a real groom didn't I?" the door of the bathroom opened and Fidel walked out with a towel wrapped around his waist. She looked up at him and looked down at the pictures. He walked over to her side and stared at  the pictures. His hair was still drilling and his hair torso was no better. His pink lips were more pink and more wet.

Just one glance at this man now could work wonders. She tensed up.

"Can you please put on some shirt? Am very uncomfortable looking at you right now." She said while avoiding his gaze. Fidel made a wicked smile.

"You know, getting a lady to tell you directly that they love you isn't easy. They start by getting uncomfortable looking at you, just as you're doing now." He said pulling out a shirt and putting it over his wet body. It stuck on him, making his abs still visible. But to her, it was better than seeing his bare chest.

"You're overthinking." She said.

"Am not. All these greedy ladies running up and down for attention, they're all hypocrites." He said. "Someone who'll get me go to hell to fetch what she wants and back, maybe that's the person to have a lifetime adventure with. Imagine someone who would turn a whole billionaire like me down and force me to hold a second wedding for her? Seriously that's crazy."

"Not much because we're yet to start. You haven't gone to hell yet..." She said before walking out. It was super time.

"Maybe if we put on a show." Fidel sighed heavily as he watched her leave. She didn't turn back, she didn't say a word more to him.

Fidel thought he really had met the very mysterious last woman of the world.

Someone you can't get to see through her mind.
