14 Days Later
In the early hour of 5AM, the bell rang and everyone in the Red dorm woke up. Sharaina stretched herself and got out of bed. She quickly made her bed as she exchanged pleasantries with Zentz and Yolin.
Sharaina joined the others in the bathroom and took a quick shower. When she was done, she found Zentz waiting outside her shower cube. She smiled at him before leaving him to have his shower.
Sharaina waited for Naraygeous and Zentz before proceeding to the cafeteria with them. They quickly had their breakfast and left to find their class for the morning. It didn't take long for them to locate it and soon they were seated at the back of the class in their individual desks.
Lalina got into the class with Yolin and when she saw Sharaina sitting close to Naraygeous, she felt extremely jealous. She had hopes of sitting next to him during class but Sharaina beat her to him. Lalina scowled at Sharaina before sitting down in the front row with Yolin. Sharaina didn't notice Lalina glare at her because she was looking out the window. Their class was on the third floor so she could see a good view of the campus from her window.
A middle aged looking, short and slim lady with round spectacles walked into the class. Her red hair was tied in pig tails. In her hands were three huge books that she struggled to carry. One of her heels broke and she fell backwards. Luckily for her, a male student caught her before she hit the ground. She chuckled as she got back to her feet while another student set the books on the table.
The lecturer took off her heels and threw them in the bin. She then pulled out a pair of flip flops from her purse and put them on.
"These are the third pair I have lost this week." the students heard her jokingly complain.
The students watched her walk to the board and write her name on it.
"Good morning everyone. I am Mrs. A Plurinsia and I will be your theoretical lecturer this whole year." she said to them with a wide smile across her face. "I hope I will get to know all your names before the end of this week." she sat on her table with her legs crossed.
"I'm sure that you know that by the end of your three year program, you will be placed in different fields according to your grades. Some of you will be in the royal army, others will be in the police department and some of you will be deployed on Earth."
She cautiously looked sideways with a beautiful smile and cupped her mouth. "I believe that some of you will be good enough to be members of the Enchanted Seven one day."
Yolin nodded her head ambitiously to her words. This wasn't to the surprise of Lalina. She looked away from her bored and spied on Naraygeous and Sharaina. He was paying attention to Mrs Plurinsia whereas Sharaina was still looking out her window with her elbow on the table and chin on her hand. Lalina faced in front as she rolled her eyes.
"Today we will be looking at earth and our operations on it. Can someone tell me what earth is?" Mrs Plurinsia asked.
She looked at the class but no one raised their hand. She poked her chin as she thought of pointing at someone. When she saw Sharaina looking out the window, she threw a piece of chalk at her and Lalina smirked.
"Young lady, please pay attention to the class." she said and Sharaina nodded her head. "Now that I have your attention, would you mind telling us what earth is? Tell me your name first before answering my question."
Sharaina stood up. "My name is Sharaina Sharumez." she introduced herself. "Earth is a planet that hosts human beings. It is also the only planet in the solar system that has the conditions necessary to sustain human life." she answered and sat back down.
Mrs. Plurinsia clapped her hands and chuckled softly. "Thank you for that good answer Sharaina." she remarked. "I'm sure all of you share the same thoughts on the definition of Earth. You also know how important human lives are to our existence. Well allow me to briefly talk about the relevance of humans to us...
"Humans are the reason for our existence because they are the ones who produce the necessary energy that we need in order to survive and exist. When a human does good, an energy is emitted from them, its greenish in color. When they do bad, a bluish energy is emitted from them. The balanced combination of these energies forms what we all know as gamarax and it can be in red or purple depending on how dense it is. When dense, it is red and this normally happens with the First Class also known as warrior darkas gods. The Second Class who are the Gamarax Manipulators have purple gamarax just like the Third Class who are better known as the Seers.
"Students, we as a kingdom, strive to keep the human race alive therefore we only attack and kill humans when it is absolutely necessary to do so. Killing a human for no justifiable reason is a serious offence punishable by a life sentence."
Mrs Plurinsia got off the table and sat on her chair instead. She pulled out an apple from her bag and started to eat it.
"Well in as much as humans produce the required energy in order to keep Dark Star alive, they can't provide warrior darkas gods and gamarax manipulators with the necessary energy to fight or manipulate gamarax. This is where feeding comes in. In order to be able to keep using our powers effectively, we must feed on vampires.
"You see, vampires store a special kind of gamarax. It is the purest form of gamarax and it lies at the core of the vampire... the heart.
"Vampires do not emit any energy no matter what they do. Therefore the energy builds up and it is stored in their lifeless hearts. The more the energy stays inside, the more concentrated it becomes and the sweeter it is if the vampire is strong.
"Not only does feeding on vampires give you a boost in gamarax but it also retains your youth. You see, the more gamarax you burn up by using your powers, the more you age therefore feeding helps to stop you from losing your youth. This however isn't the case for seers because unlike warriors and manipulators, they lose their powers and they become mortal when they feed. Mortals can't survive in Dark Star so they die immediately. If they are on earth, time catches up with them and they die of old age."
Mrs. Plurinsia said to her attentive class.

Emelinia sat on the carpet in her and Naian's room sowing back a button on Naian's shirt. She was doing his laundry the other day when she noticed that a button was loose on that shirt.
Naian was balancing the accounts of the shop at his table in the room. He and Sharumez hadn't gone to work that day because they felt that they needed a little time off work. After the Royal Mourning period, they had to work double time in order to catch up with the orders. Sharumez decided that they were to take a three day break and that was to Naian and Janala's relief.
Emelinia carefully threaded the button and cut the thread with a tiny scissors. She carried the shirt to the closet and put it on a hang wire.
Emelinia thought about her mother. She really wanted to go and see her because she hadn't seen her since her wedding. She looked at Naian busy writing and checking receipts.
Will he allow me to go to Vanimaq? He knows everything about Erny.
Emelinia sat quietly on the carpet again and looked thoughtfully at Naian's back.
No, perhaps if I ask him nicely, he will let me go.
Emelinia brushed her doubts aside, gathered her courage and walked up to Naian. He was so absorbed in what he was doing that he got startled to see Emelinia suddenly standing next to him. He put his pen down and looked at her concerned.
"Is there a problem?" he asked her and she shook her head.
"I was wondering if it would be okay for me to go and visit my mother today." she nervously said as she played with her fingers. "I really miss her a lot." she added with her head bowed.
Naian held his mouth thoughtfully and said. "Okay you can go and see her." Emelinia's face lit up at his words.
"Thank you." she said with her hands on her heart.
Naian closed the book and got up. "In fact, why don't we go and see her together?" he smiled at her and she nodded her head.
Naian looked at Emelinia walking away happily.
I can't stop her from going to see her mother despite knowing how much her step father doesn't want her there. Doing that will only upset her. It is best that I go with her. I'll see Karnam tomorrow instead of this afternoon. I'm sure he'll understand.

Mrs. Plurinsia gladly answered the questions that were pouring in from her excited students. They were all intrigued by the lesson and they wanted to know more. Mrs. Plurinsia pulled out books from her desk and she began handing them out to the students as she continued teaching.
"Turn to the first page." she ordered them and sat at her desk.
The class was quiet as she read out what was written there. When she was done, more students raised their hands and she politely gestured for them to put their hands down.
"I will answer all your questions regarding what I have just read out in due time." she smiled warmly at them. "First allow me to explain everything in the simplest way possible."
She took off her glasses and everyone watched her wipe them and put them back on.
"Well students, we have read that humans are not supposed to know about our existence because this may affect how they will produce their energy. They may manipulate how they do things and this may cause serious problems for us. They may also discover that vampires exist and they may work to eliminate vampires. If vampires are wiped out, what will happen to us?I'll tell you what, we will grow weaker in battle and our enemies will attack and destroy our Kingdom.
"In order to prevent humans from knowing about us, gamarax manipulators stationed on Earth have created and maintained dimensions where our offices are located. No human can sense those dimensions and no vampire, werewolf, witches and any other being can find them. Only darkas gods can locate them. Each dimension has a seal and this seal can only be broken by those who have been authorized to access the area. Fourth classes need either an authorized warrior, gamarax manipulator or seer in order to get into those dimensions.
"Once inside, no portal can be formed in order to get into any building. You must use the doors. This is for the purpose of privacy and security. You know, these dimensions not only house our offices on earth but they house the residential areas of the darkas gods who live on earth. They aren't allowed to form relationships with humans because of our no aging element. The humans can get suspicious if you remain the same while they age.
"The dimensions are masked so well that they look normal to most but hold a secret passage to the select few. In order to further hide our existence, a seal is put on our uniforms, once we are out of the dimension; our uniforms automatically change into human clothing. This way the humans can't find our clothes to be odd."
Mrs. Plurinsia ended.
"Well that is it for today class. I'll see you tomorrow. Class is dismissed." she said and everyone got up.
Sharaina chatted with Naraygeous and Zentz on their way out of class. As they talked, Naraygeous walked passed Lalina without paying any attention to her and this irritated her.
"You need to calm down." Yolin said to her. "He genuinely didn't see you."
"That's because whenever she is around him, he can't see any other girl." Lalina snapped her pencil in half with her thumb.
What did you think about the first lesson?
Is Lalina's jealousy justified?
Emelinia is going home to see her mother Channy! What sort of drama awaits her there? All will be known in the next chapter 'Home Bitter Home'
