Court Room

"So, William, what is it this time?" An older woman stood in front of us. She's wearing a blue magic robe with star paterns, her hair has turned white with age, but her eyes were her most predominant feature. They were differently colored, not only that, each eye had two distinct colors!

"Mrs. Elizabeth, I bring in front of you today the child that singlehandedly killed teacher Jamesa and easily defeated two guards before being captured by me."

There were gasps in the audience then silent voices started whispering.

"Oh my! But you have judgement authority, why didn't you deal with this matter yourself?" The director said, intrigued.

"I will take him under my wing, but the visit today isn't about him, it's actually about the teacher."

"Why is that? Like you said, he murdered a teacher."

"He didn't have a choice in killing him, he and the girl were captured by the teacher for his experiments. The girl there is the professor's niece and a student here that disappeared a month ago, he was trying to control her blood before moving on to controlling other people's blood, henceforth he captured the boy."

The gasps were even louder now, some whispers became true shouts at this point.

"Silence!" The director said. "I would like to hear their stories first, let's start with the boy."

I looked at William.

"Tell her what you said to me." William said.

"Well, I should start from when I stumbled across the cabin in the woods..."

...

"I confirmed both their stories using the truth ability of my gauntlets."

The director nodded.

"One more question, why does he have horns? He doesn't look like a demon, nor like a dragonborn. And I never heard of diluting a race so much that any identifiable feature disappears. So, kid, what are you?" The woman said.

"Me? I'm just... You know..." 'What the fuck am I supposed to say to this? Do I just say I don't know? I don't know if there are beastmen in this world, I could just say I'm some goat or something!'

"Do you not remember?" The director, seeing my hesitation asked.

"That's right! I have no memory of my parents or my childhood so I dont't know."

"I understand, then, I will declare Azazel as a free man, he will not be charged with any crimes. Any objections?"

"No objections." Two representatives, one on each side of the court room said in unison.

"Then you are free to go, get the girl to a medic to examine her condition... And remember, you are always being watched on campus, not only you, every student is." She said in a creepy voice before getting herself under control. "I hope we wont have any problems in the future!" She grinned at me.

"William, stay here so we can talk about how we will deal with the other matter."

One of the guards escorted me to the exit, once outside he pointed me to down the street where a hospital was located, only a few minutes away.

Walking down the street I looked at all the different races going about their day. Some looked like lizards, some looked more like dragons, with tails and horns, some had pointy ears like elves, and some had animal ears and tails, some of the beastmen even had claws and such, the majority of them were cat like though, with rabbit in second. But by far the majority of the students were human, no doubt about it, all the different races combined didn't make half of the humans.

"You don't talk very much, huh? You think too much." He girl that was still on my back said.

"Ha! You startled me! God, I was just looking around because I don't know a lot about the world."

"Really? Then why don't you ask me, I'm hungry anyways so how about you treat me to a meal while I tell you anything you want."

"I would but I don't have any money, you know?"

"I was just kidding, meals are free on campus, they are paid for by the school, but for fancy meals you need really good grades. I'm a great student so don't worry, or I least I was, ha ha..."

"I should get you to the hospital first, I don't feel very hungry right now..."

"Oh... Okay..."

After a short walk we finally arrived in front of the hospital, I went inside and at the back of the empty waiting room there was a reception desk with a nurse behind it. When she saw us she waved us over.

"Are you guys back from a mission? You look kind of young for that, though. What are her injuries?"

"Ugh, she is just suffering from blood loss and may be malnourished, I think. What do you think, Emma?

"Aahh, I'm so malnourished that I feel like I'm dying, this might be my last breath!"

"Quit messing around, you were fine until now."

"Hehe." She giggled.

"What happened?" The nurse asked.

"It's kind of a long complicated story that I'm not sure we're allowed to tell. It's not important for her treatment either, so can you please take her off of me, she's as heavy as a boulder."

"Certainly. Follow me, I'll get her a room."

"That's not very nice, you said I was like a feather, delicate and beautiful, you're breaking my heart." She put her hand on her chest while acting the best she could.

"I never said that."

"Of course you did, don't you remember?"

"Not really, no."

"It was right before we left, I asked you to tell me if I was heavy."

"It was such a long time ago, that court room took everything out of me so my memory is kind of hazy."

"Hhhmm! You dummy!"

"Calm down, I was just kidding. Wait, where is the nurse?" I said looking around.

"Hmm, did you lose her? Ahh, you're such a dummy, how could you even lose her, she was only two meters in front of you!"

"You didn't see her either! Now, where could she had gone?"

Looking behind me, down the hallway, there was an open door. Looking in there was an old man sitting in a bed, he spotted us and turned to give us a wave.

"Hello there, are you..." He tilted his head and after a moment he started screaming. "Ahhh! A monster! There's a monster here! Help mee! Ahhh! Help... Haaa... please... help...*Sobbing*" He curled up into a ball, seemingly giving up on life.

"What is going on here?" A nurse rushed in past us. "Mr. Malcom, are you alright? What happened?"

'Did this happen because of me?'

[Most probably, host.]

'But why did only this old man feel that I'm not... human?'

{Sometimes, when people are close to death their soul loosens up and they are more sensible to the paranormal, though they can't distinguish between that and reality.}

'I see... Wait, paranormal? Explain.'

{Unlike your original world, here paranormal means something beyond even the boundaries of magic, like you, shapeshifting monsters are already impossibly rare, but one having a child with a human is unheard of. It's so far from what they know that it starts leaking some sort of energy, or aura would be a better term. You can't replicate the paranormal with magic, no matter how hard you try, since if it's possible then it's not paranormal.}

'That so stupid. But then wh...' My thoughts were cut short by the sound of steps coming towards us. Looking towards them I saw William with a doctor and the original nurse behind him.

"We'll take her from here." The doctor said. They made me put her on a stretcher.

"Hey, kid, you're coming with me now, you should say goodbye to your friend there since you won't see her for a very long time."

I nodded then turned to her.

"So, Mara, it was nice meeting you, I hope we can be friends in the future."

"Yes, that would be nice."

"Then, see you around."

I followed William to the hospital's exit and the door became bright again, walking trough it I found myself outside a rustic home covered in vines. It wasn't very big, it could be considered quite modest actually, but what was truly majestic was the forest surrounding it and the flower garden in front.

"You have a flower garden?"

"It's my wife's."

"YOU have a wife?!"

"Problems?" He shot me a nasty look.

"No, no, no, of course not..."

"Honey! You're home!" An exited voice came from the front door.
