Alpha Kellan summoned his beta to his office to discuss the urgent matter he informed him of. "So what is the urgent matter that made you to disturb me Beta Derrick?" he asked. His voice commanding and powerful.
With his head bowed, "Alpha there are both bad and good news, which one should I start with?" Beta Derrick asked in response.
"You can go with the bad one first I guess" Alpha Kellan responded, still quite unsure. "The bad news is that Aurora has escaped from the pack, and she was the one that planned the attack on your mate Ava and the rogue has been caught" he said.
Alpha Kellan's face changed completely "Aurora has gone too far with her actions from what you just said, right now I believe someone helped her out to accomplish this plan of hers.
I want you to get to the root of all this. Send some men to find her and bring her back here dead or alive. I detest betrayals, and I will treat her the way she deserves to be treated" he commanded. His face filled with rage and anger.
"I sent some men already to look for her, but it seems she has already arrived at Midnight Howls Pack" beta Derrick replied.
"Now she's hiding under the protection from her father. Send a message to alpha Lucas of Midnight Howls, tell him to give his daughter to us so that she can face her punishment for trying to hurt my mate" Alpha Kellan commanded.
"Okay Alpha, I will make sure your message gets to Alpha Lucas. And the good news is that Blood Moon Pack has proposed an alliance with us" Beta Derrick replied.
He furrowed his brow "Hmm what a surprise, from what I heard, the Alpha of Blood Moon is a very proud man and for him to propose an alliance with us, it means he wants something from us, but what could that be" the Alpha said to his Beta, confusion written all over his handsome face.
"Alpha I also smell something fishy going on but before coming to conclusion we should have a meeting with them. We might need their help in the future" beta derrick replied.
"That's right I believe you know what to so you can go ahead with it" Alpha Kellan said with full trust in his Beta.
"Sure Alpha" Beta Derrick with a smile.
"Kellan what are you planning to do concerning your mate now that you have consummated and marked her?" Beta Kellan asked, addressing Alpha Kellan more intimately. They've been Best friends for years now, even before Alpha Kellan became the Alpha of the Wildwood pack.
"Derrick, I don't know what to do right now. I'm so fucking confuse. I hate to admit but am attracted to Ava, but I'm just scared that what happened in the past might repeat itself" he replied as he rubbed his temple in frustration.
"Kellan, I advise you to let go of the past and focus on your life with Ava. She might have a similar background with the former Luna, but she don't seem like someone who would do such a thing" Beta Derrick said to him, his tone filled with concern for his best friend.
"I will have to think about it then, but for now, I have other important things to do" Alpha Kellan.
"Okay Alpha now can permit your loyal Beta to go and perform his duties" he replied playfully as he turned and walked out. Alpha Kellan gazed at the door for some time with a rare smile plastered on his face. Beta Derrick is one out of few people that he believes will never betray him.
That day Ava when to visit Chloe, seeing Ava she was so happy to see her. The two friends discussed and Chloe introduced Ava to her Mate. They sat down in the garden enjoying the cool weather. "Hey, remember that time we tried to bake cookies?" Chloe asked in an excited tone.
"How could I forget? It turned out to be a disaster". Ava said in between her laughter.
"Yeah, but it was the best disaster ever, those cookies could've been used as weapons". Chloe replied.
"True, they were like rocks. But hey, at least we had fun, right?" Ava said.
"Speaking of which, I think I still have some cookies buried in the backyard. Maybe we should unearth them" Chloe suggested playfully.
"Or we could just stick to ordering takeout next time" Ava said as she laughed hard.
"So Ava why don't you gist me, how far have you with my brother" Chloe asked.
Ava's face flushed as she remembered what happened between her and Alpha Kellan.
"OMG you are blushing, something definitely happened that you are not telling, common don't leave me hanging here" she said putting on a cute and gentle smile.
Ava's face was now pink as she tried hard in covering her shyness "nothing happened I promise" Ava her voice barely audible.
"I see it in your eyes, I know you've got something to say just spill it out and enough of the silent treatment, hit me with the real gist" Chloe's said faking anger.
"Okay fine I will tell you," Ava replied, finally giving in to Chloe's persuasion. "So the Alpha and I had sex yesterday" she replied truthfully in a shy voice then covered her face with her palms.
"So my guess was right, I knew my brother will not allow you die now look. I'm so happy for you, awwwn" Chloe said.
Ava giggled and gave Chloe a hug.
After the discussion between the two friends, they decided to visit the pack market, reaching there they noticed how people looked at Ava whispering some words into their ears and hurrying away avoiding her like a plague. The two friends were surprised and wondered what might be the reason for their behavior, but they decided to keep it to themselves.
The gossips among both the men and women in the market increased. Chloe couldn't hold it any longer and decided to ask one of the market women.
After informing Chloe the reason people were avoiding and looking that way, Chloe was filled with rage. She never for once, that people will bring back what happened in the past.
"What's wrong Chloe?" Ava asked worriedly, seeing the look on Chloe's face as she came back to meet her.
"Ava don't take anything being said to heart okay, there is no such thing like that and the past won't repeat itself" Chloe replied, her voice filled with reassurance and sadness.
"Chloe I don't understand what you are saying can you please explain?" Ava pleaded.
No matter how much Ava pleaded with her, Chloe still refused to tell Ava what's going on. The drive back home was quiet and long. Ava made up her mind to find out what secret Chloe was hiding from her.
It was late at night before Ava arrived home feeling sad and down, she decided to take a walk around the house.
As she walked deep inside the garden the noticed a dark shadow following her, feeling scared Ava increased her pace. She quickly hid somewhere for some time and checked if the person had left. Thankfully, no one was there again, as she turned to leave, she collide to a strong chest.
