*Flashback*

Thomas's business card sat in a drawer of Genevieve's nightstand like a bad omen. She had been avoiding it religiously, and at some point considered throwing it away.

But now, she was thankful that she hadn't.

Genevieve eyed the number she had dialed in through the keypad of her phone. After making sure it matched the one on the card, she pressed the green button. Her heart sped up with every ring that resounded.

Upon Samuel's departure from her house, an idea came to her mind. Even though she felt relieved after telling him about Lily, the part where it could take up to four days to interrogate her nagged Genevieve. Time was of essence right now. She knew that she should leave it for Samuel to handle, but in the end, she decided to take matters into her own hands.

That's officer Genevieve for you. Even in suspension, she was still on duty.

"Hello?"

"Oh, hello Mr. Thomas."
