Shadow Secret

Adam was reborn into a world where humans still couldn't rule the planet despite the existence of superpowers. Humans with superpowers, often referred to as Mages, had been striving for peace on the central continent by guarding borders and prohibiting wars. Unfortunately, Adam now had to face an era of change. The social order system established by the International Mage Association began to falter. Seeds of war had spread across the peaceful central continent. In an era that would produce heroes, Adam preferred to lurk in the shadows.

Training Class 3

Meditating, Pierce furrowed his brow, contemplating whether this meditation was truly the key to the newly established training class. He wasn't sure, but he intended to see what was special about this meditation.

Not long after, the four participants in the training class sat cross-legged. Led by Adam, they mimicked his movements, taking deep breaths and exhaling slowly.

Adam guided the four participants, "Close your eyes, try not to think and just focus on what you feel. The wind's breeze, sunlight, heartbeat, feel all of those and focus on them."

His mage power, bond, started to spread among the four participants. Soon, they felt it faintly.

"If you feel something, don't reject it, open your mind and accept it slowly."

Under Adam's instruction, the four participants immediately connected with him through the mage talent bond. This time, Adam would only implant one month's worth of muscle memory experience in the four participants. For memories, he would only implant glimpses day by day.

The process was slow, but the four training class participants tried to focus and not disturb Adam, even though they didn't know what was actually happening.

As time passed, Adam eventually succeeded in implanting muscle memory and memories in the four participants. Considering the small scale of the implanted muscle memory and memories by Adam, the counterattack received by the four participants was not substantial.

"This?" Pierce felt a slight discomfort in his body, but fortunately, it quickly disappeared. He then sensed some foreign memories in his mind and some unseen changes in his body.

These changes were hard to identify, but Pierce felt that his proficiency in fighting with shield and spear had slightly increased. It surprised him; after a while, he began speculating that this change occurred because of Adam's mage power. Pierce recalled hearing that Adam possessed a Class-F mage talent.

For Pierce, who didn't possess mage talent, he didn't know how powerful Class-F was, but seeing this effect, perhaps Class-F mage talent wasn't as people thought—not as potent as Katarina's Red Thunder, which could defeat a Kingdom of Florent's defense force in an instant, but still better than having no mage talent at all.

"Today's training class has concluded. Thank you for participating; we'll resume it tomorrow at the same time. Now, you may all go home."

Vinswall's words closed the first training class, and the four participants went back to their respective homes.

"Thank you for your cooperation; the first day of training went well. We'll continue this for a month. Therefore, please collaborate."

"Hehe, don't worry, Young Master, we'll work hard," said Vinswall, followed by Horlock's nod.

The first training class went smoothly, but it would take time for the four participants to truly feel the change. Currently, the most crucial aspect was to continue steadily; over time, the reputation of this training class would surely increase.

Adam then resumed his life as usual. After the training class's schedule stabilized, where Adam only needed to attend during meditation sessions, his activities changed again. He started further experiments on the impact of his mage power on animals. He wondered if he could artificially create highly intelligent animals.

To do this, Adam instructed some of his father's subordinates to capture mice. What Adam intended to do was to implant a permanent suggestion into these mice and see if that suggestion could be inherited by their offspring. He also wanted to know if the permanent suggestion would bring about changes on a biological level, such as making the mice's brains smarter.

"For the first pair of mice, a permanent suggestion for each mouse, emphasizing aggressiveness," murmured Adam while looking at two mice confined in a cage.

After a few months, he became more skilled at applying permanent suggestions. Now, Adam could implant a permanent suggestion in just 5 minutes, and it would increase depending on how many permanent suggestions were implanted simultaneously.

"The second pair will focus on intelligence." Adam immediately switched his attention to the next two mice.

He continued implanting permanent suggestions until the last pair of mice. Now, he only needed someone to feed the mice and wait for all of them to give birth to the second generation.

Days went by, and Adam continued various experiments while observing the training class and providing daily meditation guidance. After half a month, the four participants in the training class progressed rapidly, especially Pierce. The four teenagers now seemed quite capable of displaying the style of shield and spear combat.

Meanwhile, during the training sessions, Adam added several additional exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and others to develop the participants' muscles. He also advised them to consume protein-rich foods like meat regularly.

Adam, who had just finished guiding the meditation, then noticed Celine, his assistant, arriving in a hurry.

"What's the matter, Celine?" Adam asked, surprised.

"Young Master, Mr. Alphonso and Madam are calling for you. There's bad news about Miss Katarina."

"Let's go there."

Although Adam's relationship with his sister wasn't that great, he certainly didn't wish anything bad to happen to her. As someone with an S-Class mage talent, Katarina was now their parents' hope. Their family would be devastated if anything happened to her.

Shortly after, Adam arrived in the living room of his house. He saw his mother crying while his father tried to console her. Adam approached them slowly and asked softly, "Mom, Dad, how's Katarina? I heard there's bad news about her."

"An unknown group attacked the academy students. Katarina, along with some other students, was abducted. So far, there's been no information about their whereabouts," Alphonso said angrily, his expression grim.

"In that case, is there anything we can do?"

"Daddy will go to the Capital tomorrow, visit some old friends, and try to find your sister's whereabouts as soon as possible."

"May I come with you?"

Vollen Academy was in the Capital of Florent, a place Adam hadn't been to.

"No, wait here," declined his father.

"Please, I promise to stay in a safe place and follow all your orders. I'm curious about the Capital of the kingdom," Adam pleaded.

Alphonso sighed and nodded, "In that case, you can come, but remember it's not a safe place, so follow my orders."

Adam nodded earnestly; he was still rational and had no intention of endangering himself.
