[Chapter 207] The Young Boy

I walk over to my workbench and set down the paint, suddenly solving a slight issue I had on how to boil the paint. I place the tray onto the table before holding out my hand, activating 'Absolute Shadow' in a flurry of darkness. They quickly collect to create a purple box which sits on the floor in front of me. I pick it up and place it onto my workbench with a thud.

I push off the top to reveal an empty inside. I use 'Absolute Shadow' to create a rack and place the tray inside, needing to make sure I don't light the paint. I glance behind me and see Emily looking at my actions curiously, but still refusing to move from her spot. I shrug it off as I warm my throat, a slight glow escaping my cheeks. Black flames flow from my mouth as I breath them directly underneath the tray.

The flames dance jovially as they reach for the pan, only just out of reach. But I smile as I see that the container isn't burning as quickly as it usually would. 'Tungsten was the way to go. My flames can literally eat through anything, but the burning speed isn't the same on all of them.'

Sky inwardly nods, "These flames are immensely powerful, I always get nervous swing them but I never cease to gaze at them in amazement."

I smile before gently placing the lid on, the heat radiating from the flames being sealed within. As I patiently wait, I talk with Emily.

"So about that sword...is it somewhere near here?"

She looks at me with a bit of shock before shaking her head and reequipping a nonchalant expression, "What sword?"

My smile turns wry, "The sword that was supposedly forged by a blacksmith who wanted to avenge his fallen brethren years before."

She quickly turns her head towards me as her eyes grow wide, "You were listening?!"

I nod as I answer sarcastically, "That tale was quite amazing. You should be a story teller."

She glares at me, my sudden use of sarcasm catching her off guard, "Shut it."

I shrug, "But do you want to hear my story?"

Her ears literally perk up at this as she looks me dead in the eyes, at least, where she can guess they are. "Fine."

I lean on the counter as I begin to speak, her interest piqued, "One day, a young person was offered an opportunity of a lifetime from a king, to be trained and taught by the best of the best. All because he had a unique power, one that could topple kingdoms."

Her glare softens as curiosity appears in her eyes, the only sound being the water running from the bathroom.

"This young man accepted this request and went on a journey, being trained to become one of the greatest living weapons imaginable. This king's daughter was also being trained, training to become a weapon even more powerful due to a similar but believed to be more potent power."

"But due to luck, he was surpassed by the king's daughter in the race of power. Due to the king's selfish dreams, he made this kid fight a being that could destroy continents, all on his lonesome."

She stares at me with a look of wonder in her eyes along with a bit of humor, probably trying not to laugh at the story. I ignore her look as I slowly stand up, a cold chill filling the room. Her eyes tighten as she stares at me, the past humor gone.

"This warrior won, but at the cost of his arm and eye, having created a weapon so powerful that it disabled him."

I slowly walk towards Emily, causing her to stare at me with fear slowly filling her eyes. But she maintains a neutral expression as I approach. Each step I take quickens her ever increasing heart rate. I don't care as I continue to walk closer, the story still flowing from my throat.

"The kid was disabled, but he had gained his power, one that surpassed her's by leaps and bounds. The kid wanted to show his new power to his teacher, the one he trusted with his life, but the king had placed this teacher into a coma. His teacher had wanted justice for what happened, but the king, who didn't know of the unlocked power, only saw these disabilities as motivation to become stronger. This kid saw the king's greed for what it truly was, and declared vengeance for the injustice that was committed to him."

I stand before her, her breathing quickening. I stare at her reptilian eyes with my own as she feels like a hand is clenching her heart. The witty words she was gonna say are caught in her throat as she stares at him in horror, his figure towering over her. She shivers in fear as she seemingly sees a skeleton behind him, cloaked in a black robe with a scythe in his hands.

"He attacked the king's daughter and had disabled her, bringing her down to within an inch of her life. He threatened the king to give him the teacher, and when the king did so, the kid proceeded to rampage the castle, any guard standing in his way was killed or disabled with ferocity."

"The kingdom was left in shambles, all because of one man's greed..."

I lean in towards Emily's face as she begins to shiver, the overwhelming amount of fear drowning her.

"...where do you think this boy is now? Roaming the world? Settling down? Or is he declaring war on any kingdom he can just so he can grow stronger?"

She stutters as she can barely form a sentence, "Is this boy you?"

I evilly smile underneath my mask as my demonic voice enters her ears, "Is it? Do you want to take the chance I am not? Who said this boy hadn't gotten stronger?"

I take a step back, reeling back in all the pressure I was releasing. She heaves in a massive gasp of breath as I turn around, the purple container glowing red with heat, "I guess you will find out tomorrow."
